Lizzo opens up about depression, music as healing, and her new album ‘Love in Real Life'
Lizzo is known for her confidence and joy, but behind the scenes, she's faced serious mental health struggles. In a new Rolling Stone interview, the Grammy-winning singer shared that making her upcoming album, Love in Real Life, became a lifeline during a dark chapter of depression.
'There were days I didn't think I could make it through,' Lizzo said. 'But I had to show up to the studio. Music saved my life.' She described the intense emotions she poured into the writing process, even if some of the songs didn't make the final cut. 'There were things I needed to say, even if I couldn't release them.'
Lizzo admitted that she used to second-guess her lyrics out of concern for how others might feel. 'I said, 'I will never, ever be a side chick,' but then I worried, what if I offend someone?' Over time, she's realised trying to avoid criticism is impossible. 'Everybody's offended by something now. You can't please everyone. So I've started saying what I want to say.'
Despite fame, her personal battles didn't magically disappear. 'My anxiety didn't go away. My depression didn't go away. I'm still the same person,' she previously told Variety. What's changed is her outlook.
Now, Lizzo feels more empowered than ever. 'Yo, I'm feeling amazing now. Like, shit. I wasn't feeling bad before, but I do feel like brand-new, you know?' she said. 'I need to be creating all the time. That's my new thing… You need to trust your vision too. And I'm really, really happy.'

Burglars broke into Brad Pitt's Los Angeles home on Thursday, ransacking the property and fleeing with stolen items while the Oscar-winning actor was travelling to promote his new racing thriller F1, US media reported. Pitt is among the most recent celebrities to have their Los Angeles homes burglarized. About $500,000 of jewellery was allegedly stolen from the home of French striker Olivier Giroud of MLS side Los Angeles FC in a burglary in February. That same month, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's residence was reportedly burglarized. On the work front, Pitt has been grabbing headlines with his Formula One film. Formula One is hoping the film cements the appeal of the Netflix docu-series Drive to Survive that has boosted Formula One's popularity and growth worldwide and particularly in the key US market. "I think there's this perception that Drive to Survive turned America onto F1 but I think there's just so many more people out there that don't know anything about it," said director Joseph Kosinski. "So there's a lot of potential still there."

Emma Stone talks 'Eddington', Joaquin Phoenix, and that Cannes bee video with Pascal and Butler
Emma Stone is opening up about a whirlwind of behind-the-scenes moments while promoting Ari Aster's upcoming film Eddington, set to release July 18. During the world premiere in West Hollywood, Stone sat down with Variety and revealed she enjoyed rehearsing alongside Joaquin Phoenix. 'We rehearsed. We went through everything,' she said. Yet, she admitted rehearsals can be hit or miss: sometimes invigorating, other times stressful. Fortunately, working with Phoenix on his character, a small-town sheriff, was one of her more rewarding experiences. The cast also includes Austin Butler, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O'Connell, Michael Ward, Clifton Collins Jr., Cameron Mann, and William Belleau. Stone also addressed a viral red-carpet moment at Cannes, where a bee swooped past her during a Eddington photo-op with Pascal and Butler. 'He [Butler] was trying to blow it behind me,' she told host Jimmy Kimmel, adding that Pascal likely 'unleashed that bee'. The playful incident had captured global attention and Stone laughed it off, praising both co-stars for their protective efforts. Shortly before the Eddington premiere, Stone's other upcoming film, Bugonia, debuted its first trailer. Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, the story features her as a CEO suspected of being an alien, kidnapped by two conspiracy theorist friends played by Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis.
