Rita Ora reveals how she felt losing out on Kylie Minogue's hit Padam Padam

Perth Now10-06-2025
Rita Ora has no regrets about losing Padam Padam to Kylie Minogue.
Lostboy - who wrote the 2023 track - originally thought about giving the song to Rita before it became Kylie's comeback hit, but the 34-year-old pop star has no hard feelings about missing out on the song.
She's quoted by the Daily Star newspaper's Wired column as saying: "I've always grown up with this saying, 'What's for you won't pass you'. And that's always how I've lived my life.
"And it's Kylie Minogue - she's the queen of the world, in my opinion. So, of course, Kylie's going to get it and kill it and do a great job.
"And in the pop industry, that happens every day to a lot of big artists - you just don't know about it."
Rita also pointed out that she and Lostboy are "very close friends", adding that he "lives in [her] studio" in Los Angeles, California.
And Kylie made up for the loss by inviting the Let You Love Me hitmaker to support her on her recent US tour.
She said: "Kylie has been such an incredible inspiration to me for my whole life. And also having her as a supporter - I couldn't ask for anything more.
"I haven't toured like that for about three years and opening up for her was the best way to get back into live shows.
"Her audience are just so accepting and they really showed up for me. I just never wanted it to end. I'm just so grateful for that tour."
Meanwhile, Rita recently released her new single Heat, which will be part of her next album - the currently unannounced follow-up to 2023's You and I.
Reflecting on the song, she said: "The last album was about finding love and feeling super inspired by my relationship [with husband Taika Waititi].
"Whereas this one is just really inspired by having fun and being a sexy b****.
"I wanted to go back to how I started in my early career of feeling really comfortable in my skin and celebrating being a woman."

Bonnie Blue eyes sex education TV series

Bonnie Blue is keen to make a sex education TV series. The 26-year-old adult entertainer recently appeared in Channel 4 documentary 1,000 Men and Me: The Bonnie Blue Story - which focused on her stunt to bed 1,057 men in 12 hours - and following the interest in the film, she wants to do more to help people improve their intimate lives. Speaking at the launch of her documentary, she told host Anna Richardson: 'Everyone wants different things, everyone has different requirements. 'I know from sleeping with thousands of people everyone wants it differently, so they [men] know not to assume that every woman wants it the same way. If they're going too fast or if they're being too rough, speak up. 'You've got a voice. Tell them you don't want it like that, tell them how you want it.' But Bonnie insisted she isn't a "world educator", simply just a performer and businesswoman. She said: 'I didn't join this industry to say, 'I want to change the world'. I'm not the world educator.' Former Naked Attraction host Anna replied: 'But in a way, you are.' Meanwhile, Bonnie has claimed she has been inundated with messages from "big celebrities" who want to sleep with her - but she's turned them all down. She told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: 'My inbox is always busy. I get messages from big celebrities all the time. A lot of footballers and pop stars contact me. I might have had politicians too, but I wouldn't know because I couldn't name any of them. 'Celebrities message me because they think I'm going to get on my knees for them just because they're famous. But I 'Some famous singers have told me they want to meet for a social media opportunity, so I've met them. But when I've turned up, they've asked me to go to the back of the studio for sex. That's not something I entertain." However, Bonnie would be open to offers from famous men if they agreed to be filmed having sex for the footage to be made public. She said: 'If they want to make a sex tape and show their face, that's brilliant. My pants will be down. But if they want to do it behind the scenes, no chance.'

Rita Ora 'records song for Love Is Blind UK'

Rita Ora has recorded a new song for Love Is Blind UK. The 34-year-old pop star has recorded a new track called Joy, which will feature in the second series of the hit Netflix show. A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "It's no secret that Rita loves love so she jumped at the chance to record a track for Love Is Blind UK." Joy won't feature on Rita's new album, but she jumped at the chance to contribute to Love Is Blind UK. The insider continued: "Joy is very much a mini side-project rather than being part of the new album. "The song will be used on the show and be available to stream but there are no plans for a video or to send it to radio." Meanwhile, Rita recently revealed that she wants to "celebrate [her] sexuality" through her new music. The pop star released her single Heat in June, and Rita suggested that it was a taste of things to come. The chart-topping singer told People: "The whole theme of this record is really about being instant [and] really direct with my messaging and stripping everything back behind me, production wise." Heat was co-written by Troye Sivan, and Rita admits that she has "a lot in common" with the music star. The singer - who is married to Hollywood film director Taika Waititi - shared: "I love his sexuality and the celebration he has with that. "I was really inspired for me and my womanhood to really kind of celebrate my sexuality, my sexiness and get back into my body, you know? And this really just embodied that." Rita hasn't released a new album since 2023, and she's now keen to reintroduce herself to the public. The pop star - who has been married to Taika since 2022 - said: "I just feel as if I have so many things to sort of remind the public with, especially my new fans. I kind of love the idea of explaining who I am again."
