Atlanta's FIFA Club World Cup matches kick off this week
There will be six matches over the next three weeks at Mercedes-Benz Stadium featuring some of the biggest soccer clubs in the world.

Atlanta officials expect to draw thousands to the matches and use the FIFA Club World Cup as a trial run for the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup.

Atlanta's World Cup Hosting Committee gave an update on its readiness last week. Chair Dan Corso thinks Atlanta is moving forward parking with soccer's international governing body.
'I mean, we are a big event city. We know how to work together. We know how to make things happen. But we also know that we're ready because we get great feedback from FIFA,' Corso said.

Burnley are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja. A Chelsea academy product, Broja netted 16 goals in 35 matches for the under-18 side before a successful loan spell at Eredivisie side Vitesse, where he scored 11 times in 34 appearances. A subsequent loan spell at Southampton, during which he registered nine goals and two assists in 38 games, saw him earn 18 first-team appearances at Chelsea before he was hit by the ACL injury. Broja has earned 25 caps for Albania since making his senior debut in September 2020. He played twice at the 2024 European Championship as his side finished bottom of Group B.
