Ricky Stenhouse Jr. revealed on the Motor Stardom Show that he hasn't received a call from Carson Hocevar after the clash during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway.
Sunday's race saw Carson crash into Stenhouse Jr. from behind. The Hyak Motorsports driver then lost control and crashed into the wall, leading him to finish last in the race. Hocevar, meanwhile, finished the race in second place.
Stenhouse Jr. entered Nashville in 13th place in the standings. However, the incident has caused him to slip to 18th place, below the playoff line.

He said:
"A lap or two before, he [Hocevar] tried to dive in there from about 10 car lengths back and then that time, I just opened my entry a little bit and he over-charged the corner and drilled us in the rear bumper.
"I'd say it's not out of the norm from him, but I definitely wasn't expecting that at that point of the race. It's just a bummer for us."
He added:
"Bummed our day ended like that. Definitely will have something to do about it at one point."
Two days after the incident, Stenhouse Jr. confirmed on the Motor Stardom Show that he hadn't been approached by Hocevar. He said:
"I've been in this sport a long time and if you make a mistake like that, you generally pick up the phone as quick as you can, especially if you feel bad about it. If you don't, you just roll on with it. No, I've not gotten a call from him.
"I've talked to his owner. Jeff Dickerson and I are super tight. I haven't gotten a call from him, so to my point, he doesn't really care about it which is fine."

Dickerson reacted to the incident on the Door Bumper Clear podcast. Expressing his disappointment, he said:
"Here's what I said. Man, you didn't need to do that. You just didn't need to do that.
"It wasn't going to cost him anything to let Ricky back in line. I just wish he would have cut him a break.
"I have a personal relationship with Ricky and so I don't want that to you know cloud it."
With no communication from Hocevar, it remains to be seen if Stenhouse Jr. confronts him on or off track this weekend at Michigan International Speedway.

NASCAR at Iowa 2025: Start time, TV, streaming, lineup for Iowa Corn 350
It's getting close to crunch time for playoff seeding in the NASCAR Cup Series. This week in Iowa Speedway marks four races to go until the 10-race postseason kicks off at Darlington Raceway. Bubba Wallace secured his spot last week by winning the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for his first win in nearly three years. Despite low fuel, Wallace kept a charging Kyle Larson behind on the final restart in overtime. Denny Hamlin, Ryan Preece and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five. Further down the order, Ty Gibbs finished 21st to win NASCAR's inaugural in-season challenge over Ty Dillon. SERIOUS INJURY: Stewart Friesen suffers multiple injuries in dirt racing track crash The grid heads to another oval this week but one that's quite different from Indianapolis. Iowa Speedway is a short track oval with relatively low banking compared to many others on the calendar. It's a new track – last year was the first NASCAR Cup Series race there – but it compares relatively well to longtime NASCAR mainstay Richmond Raceway. Wallace is the latest driver to secure his spot in the playoffs. So far, 13 of the 16 spots have been clinched; three remain in play with four races to go. Red Bull Shocked by F1 Performance Anomaly - 'We're Faster With Used Tires'
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Red Bull senior advisor Helmut Marko was surprised after Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda qualified P8 and P16 for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Marko pointed out that "something was not right" on the RB21 F1 car, since it was "faster with used tires." The qualifying session at the Hungaroring didn't go as per Red Bull's expectations, as Tsunoda was knocked out in Q1. Although he did acknowledge that his pace was now closer to Verstappen's, both cars have a lower chance of finishing in the top three. Marko was left surprised by the unusual behavior of the car, which was faster on used tires than on a new set. Speaking to Sky Sports DE after the qualifying session, as quoted by RacingNews365, he said: "Thank God we still found something. The gap to the leaders has narrowed considerably. But something is still not right, because we were faster with used tires. That shows something is not right. Yuki Tsunoda of Japan driving the (22) Oracle Red Bull Racing RB21 on track during practice ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Hungary at Hungaroring on August 01, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary. Yuki Tsunoda of Japan driving the (22) Oracle Red Bull Racing RB21 on track during practice ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Hungary at Hungaroring on August 01, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary."Now let's see how this develops further. Obviously, the lower temperature has changed a lot." Given McLaren's dominance in the season thus far, Marko thought it was hard for anyone to beat them until Ferrari's Charles Leclerc secured pole position yesterday. Praising the Monegasque driver for putting in the best flying lap, Marko said: "Charles Leclerc's pole came more or less out of nowhere, amazing. I didn't think anyone was capable of beating McLaren at this circuit." For the Grand Prix on Sunday, the 82-year-old advisor is slightly optimistic, given the higher chances of overtaking than in the previous round at Spa-Francorchamps. He said: "A tough day, but I think it might be two stops. By the way, Yuki Tsunoda drove in the points last year with one-stop. "A lot is possible, we saw that in Formula 2. There it was quite intense and there was a lot of overtaking. Interestingly enough, that seems to be easier here [than in Belgium]." Tsunoda pointed out after qualifying that the RB21's balance was not the problem, but the sheer lack of grip compromised his lap times. He said: "I don't know. The car balance itself is not that bad. But just the grip level that the car is providing is very, very low. It's not the level that we normally feel. Throughout the week, I think there was a positive from our side of the garage that we are consistently closer to Max. Some sessions we were ahead. So, something to take a positive, but at the same time, it is not easy for our team."

MLB Speedway Classic at Bristol Motor Speedway Suspended, Resuming Sunday
It was a red flag for Major League Baseball at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night. The Speedway Classic between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds was suspended in the first inning because of rain, soaking a record-breaking crowd for the first regular-season game in Tennessee. The plan is to resume the game on Sunday afternoon. The first delay at the historic bullring of a racetrack came after the ceremonial first pitch featuring a pair of Hall of Famers in Johnny Bench and Chipper Jones, joined by NASCAR drivers Kyle Busch and Chase Elliott. The second with one out in the bottom of the first led to the game being pushed back a day, much like a red flag in motorsports. Fans who stuck out the first delay started heading toward the exits before the game was delayed until Sunday. It was an unwelcome detour for the long-planned event mixing baseball and NASCAR.
