A video capturing a man's calm and willing reaction to an unusual request from his girlfriend's best friend is earning widespread praise on TikTok, with viewers saying he set the gold standard for partner behavior.
The video, posted by Kiana Walden (@kiiannaaa8), has amassed 1.4 million views since it was shared on July 2. It opens with an on-screen message explaining the fabricated challenge: "asking my bff's boyfriend to pick up my grandma 2 hours away, then take her 7 hours to Utah to see if he'll say yes."
The man, shown through a video call screen, listens attentively on the call. Despite the extraordinary nature of the request—driving two hours to Long Beach, returning to San Diego, then embarking on a seven-hour drive to Utah—he barely hesitates. "Yeah, how far is Long Beach?...what time does she need to be picked up?" the boyfriends asks.

As it turns out, the entire situation was staged. "It was the Friday before a long weekend, so just getting to my grandma's house would've been a two-hour drive, then two hours home, before the seven-hour Utah drive even started," Walden told Newsweek. "We're really close friends. I'm hanging out with my best friend all the time, so it would be impossible not to become close with the person she's dating."
The interaction the viral post underscores broader findings on how social dynamics can affect romantic relationships.
Previous research has shown that "perceptions of approval from a partner's friends and family increase relationship stability, while social network disapproval can prove detrimental," noted an April study published in the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy.
The study found that men's heart rate variability (HRV) scores "when talking to partners and to friends were more favorable if men perceived that friends' approval of their relationship was high."
'The Flag Could Not Be More Green'
Later in the viral clip, doing time estimates out loud, the boyfriend says: "If I go get her now, it's two hours. I get there at like 1 [p.m.] and then two hours back, get back at 3 [p.m.]. Should I just go get her now?"
Walden, offscreen, plays along saying: "Yeah, go get her now...she'll be ready whenever and then she'll be riding with you Shayan and Dylan." Grinning, the boyfriend says: "It'll be your grandma, me, Shayan and Dylan." Asked if he's met her grandmother before, he replies, "Never...yeah, we'll get to know each other."
Walden ends the call saying: "Thank you so much, you're the best." She tags her best friend, @Ella Reames, in the caption of the post, which reads: "he passed the test."
Walden told Newsweek that her best friend "100 percent" knew about the fake request in advance. "I told her the idea first because I wanted to see what his reaction would be. She was just as curious as I was," she said.
Though the road trip never happened, the boyfriend did meet Walden's grandmother a few weekends later. "She loved finally meeting him. My best friend loved how her boyfriend responded, it was so sweet," Walden said.
Social media users flooded the comments section of the TikTok video with admiration for the boyfriend's response.
"The fact it isn't even his girlfriend's grandma but his girlfriend's FRIEND'S grandma, and he didn't hesitate. The flag could not be more green!!!!!" wrote user olivia1234. Another viewer, d.scalise, echoed the sentiment, saying: "The flag is NEON GREEN."
User Hair and Hay chimed in with: "Omg & he hasn't even met her?! I wish men like this existed."
Others suggested the boyfriend had proven himself to be long-term material. "Now that's your husband girl, that's your husband," wrote Jhoselyn.S, while user Kyyyyyyyyyy added: "Your friend needs to marry him immediately."
"The difference between a nice guy and a kind guy," commented 🇳🇴Susanne🇳🇴. Another viewer, leiila_z, wrote: "I love men who just do things—no complaining, no whining, no second guessing, just problem solving."

2 German Shepherds Got Stuck and Accidentally Invented a New Dance Move

2 German Shepherds Got Stuck and Accidentally Invented a New Dance Move originally appeared on PetHelpful. In a TikTok now making everyone cry-laugh (for all the right reasons), two German Shepherds somehow manage to get themselves stuck together during a roughhousing session. Instead of calmly untangling, like the clever dogs they're supposed to be, they decide to do the only thing that seems logical in the moment: They spin. Full. Furry. Nonstop. Tornado. All set to RunDMC's "It's Tricky," for maximum comedic effect. Look at 'em go! Their speed and coordination is pretty remarkable At one point, you can kind of see the realization hit their eyes: 'This is our lives now. We spin forever.' Spinning and Zoomies Why do dogs spin and do zoomies? There are plenty of reasons. They might do this to release tension or pure excitement, as part of instinctive play, or just because they feel like it. Most of the time, it's perfectly normal. In some cases, excessive spinning can indicate a behavioral or medical issue. If it doesn't happen excessively and the dog is otherwise healthy, it's usually just part of their personality. When in doubt, a quick chat with your vet is always a safe bet. Moments like this are a funny reminder that even intelligent, energetic breeds like German Shepherds can get themselves into tricky situations during play. Monitoring collars and harnesses during rough play can prevent accidental tangles, and a little supervision goes a long this case, the dogs popped apart just fine. Follow-up clips show them back to their usual adventures, tails wagging and dignity mostly intact. Something tells me their 'spinning' career isn't over, and TikTok will be ready when it happens again. 2 German Shepherds Got Stuck and Accidentally Invented a New Dance Move first appeared on PetHelpful on Aug 2, 2025 This story was originally reported by PetHelpful on Aug 2, 2025, where it first appeared.

Golden Retriever's Impressive 'Prison Break' Caught on Camera and It's Too Funny

Golden Retriever's Impressive 'Prison Break' Caught on Camera and It's Too Funny originally appeared on Parade Pets. Puppies are usually crated for training purposes, to establish boundaries, and to give them a "safe" space to decompress. Yet they soon grow out of these crates and find them a bit confining, often prompting an escape plan. Rooster the Red Golden Retriever is somewhat of a mastermind. The sly pup orchestrated a complicated "prison break" that looks like it's straight from the movies. In the TikTok from @roostertheretriever, the determined dog's escape was captured on video. 'My dog decided to execute the ultimate prison break in the middle of the night,' the onscreen text read. Rooster stepped out of his crate and manueverd himself onto an end table. The crafty canine then wedged himself between the table and the end of the gate, creating an opening of escape. This took the skill and agility of an Olympic gymnast as his back paws gripped the poles of the gate and he lurched his upper body forward. At one point, Rooster got a bit stuck and appeared to panic. His body was on top of the gate but he couldn't go forward or backward. He just stayed on the end table, figuring out his next move. Sliding his back paws along the gate, he located the perfect crevice to squeeze through to freedom. Rooster Foiled His Parents' Plans The pup's parents anticipated the potential for a prison break and arranged the area in the hopes of preventing this scenario, but their plans were obviously thwarted. "Rooster has grown so much lately that he started easily hopping out of his playpen," the caption explained. "We raised the height of the gate, except for one corner where we keep his toys and blankets in a basket. We figured, 'There's no way he could jump into the corner of a wall'."Followers were impressed with Rooster's accomplishment and guessed at reasons why he broke out. "Why am I sitting here cheering for Rooster. You got it, just jump," one wrote. "Looks like he was second guessing it, but realized he'd gone too far to turn back!" another noted. "Aww he just wants snuggles, or to search and destroy all chewable objects," a fan pointed out. It looks like Rooster needs a much higher gate! 🐶🐾🐾 Golden Retriever's Impressive 'Prison Break' Caught on Camera and It's Too Funny first appeared on Parade Pets on Aug 2, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Aug 2, 2025, where it first appeared. YouTube is testing Instagram-style collabs

YouTube has started testing a new collaboration feature, similar to Instagram's and TikTok's. A Google employee explained on YouTube Help that it will allow creators to add collaborators to a video so that they can be recommended to each other's audiences. The test is only available to a small group of creators for now, but it sounds like YouTube has plans to expand its availability in the future. Lindsey Gamble, an influencer marketing consultant and advisor, has posted a screenshot showing how the experimental feature works on Threads. As you can see in the image Gamble posted, adding collaborators would show their names next to the creators on their channel. If there are too many, at least on mobile, the collaborators would show as "...and more" next to the creator's name. Tapping on it would bring up the list of people involved in the project, with the Subscribe button next to their name. On Instagram and TikTok, the creator who uploads the content will have to invite another account as a collaborator, who'll then have to approve the invitation. That'll most likely be the case here, as well, in order to ensure that creators don't randomly add other users to their videos. It's not clear, however, whether the collaborators can see details typically reserved for the uploader's eyes. As with any experimental YouTube and Google product, the company will be taking the testers' feedback into account before deciding if it'll give the feature a wide release. fff
