Melanie C 'beyond gutted' to miss Mel B's wedding

Perth Nowa day ago
Melanie C was "beyond gutted" to miss Mel B's wedding on Saturday (05.07.25).
The 51-year-old pop star couldn't attend Mel and Rory McPhee's wedding at St Paul's Cathedral in London, but she still took to social media to voice her support for her Spice Girls bandmate.
Melanie wrote: "So so happy for you both and beyond gutted I couldn't be there. Excited to celebrate with you really soon! Yippee!"
Victoria Beckham, another of Mel's bandmates, was also absent from the wedding. However, she took to social media in support of the 50-year-old star.
Victoria - who is married to soccer star David Beckham - said on Instagram: "Congratulations @officalmelb @rorymcphee on your special day! I couldn't be more excited for you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness! kisses xx (sic)"
In another post, Victoria described Rory as a "very lucky man".
The singer-turned-designer said: "Sending love to you @officialmelb! @rorymcphee is a very lucky man! xx (sic)"
An insider has suggested that a scheduling conflict stopped Victoria from attending the ceremony.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Victoria has long standing plans out of the country and she simply can't be there."
Emma Bunton was the only Spice Girl in attendance at wedding, where she was joined by her husband Jade Jones and their son Beau, 17.
Mel – who was previously married to Jimmy Gulzar between 1998 and 2000 and Stephen Belafonte from 2007 until 2016 – wore a traditional white gown, adorned with pearls, for the wedding.
The couple posed for pictures on the steps of the historic venue and shared a kiss, before heading to The Shard for their wedding reception.
Meanwhile, the loved-up duo previously opened up about Rory's proposal, with the groom admitting that he felt "so nervous" before popping the question.
He told HELLO! Magazine: "I was so nervous, my lips were trembling. I'd spent ages writing down all these things I wanted to say, but when it came to it, I just babbled."
Despite this, Mel insisted that Rory's proposal was "lovely".
She shared: "It was lovely, what you said. He told me he loved me, that I was his best friend and that he wanted to be with me for the rest of our lives."

Viral WA animal explorer's hiatus caused by shock injury

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT Intrepid wildlife explorer and internet personality Brodie Moss revealed a shocking injury inflicted by a puffer fish is to blame for a months-long social media absence that sparked concern among his 15 million followers. The viral star — who posted regularly to his personal accounts and the popular YBS Youngbloods channels — worried fans when he stopped uploading videos for months. '6 MONTHS! Anyone here waiting for a video? Hope everything's ok!' one person asked just last week. Another had earlier said, '5 almost 6 months. Brodie your family misses you, are you okay?' Brodie Moss shares his wildlife expeditions online and has amassed millions of views. Credit: Brodie Moss / Instagram In a dramatic YouTube video shared on Sunday night, the Exmouth-based animal explorer chronicled the events that led to an emergency trip to the hospital and a 'cheeky mental break' as he explained his absence. 'Surviving using my bare hands while exploring for deadly blue ringed octopus in WILD remote Australia, what could possibly go wrong?' Moss captioned the 45-minute clip. Accompanied by his dog Stryda, the video began with Moss searching for a venomous fish before the explorer's drone captured a 'ferocious pufferfish' feasting on another puffer fish. The vision prompts Moss to venture out into the water to investigate. 'They're renowned to come after people,' he said about the puffer fish, 'they have these chompers, man'. 'They could easily take off a finger, a hand, take a chunk out of me, and do some damage.' Brodie Moss captures a puffer fish attacking another puffer fish. The act-now-ask-questions-later operator then came into contact with a deadly Blue-ringed Octopus and proceeded to stroke it several times — remarkably, evading danger once more. Moss' attention was then captured again by a puffer fish. The fish appeared to be beached on the shore, with Moss saying it was 'strange' for the fish to not be attempting to return to deeper water. The adventurer approached the fish, moving it back into deeper water. Once again acknowledging the dangers of the puffer fish, Moss said he didn't want to get too close to its mouth as it could 'bite my finger off'. However, the fish quickly became irritated at Moss' presence and swam at the YouTuber, viciously biting his finger. Moss shrieked in pain before collecting himself and rushing back to the sand in a panic. Brodie Moss leaves the water covered in blood. I actually think it bit half my finger off... I just looked away for five seconds,' he exclaimed as blood muddied the crystal clear waters and dripped over his forearms. Following a dash to the hospital, Moss was seen swimming once more with a bandage that masked the damage. 'After all the crazy stuff I've done... the venomous sea creatures, sea snakes, Blue-ringed octopus, stonefish, the big sharks, great white sharks, all of it... An angry puffer fish took me out,' he said. Thanking fans for their patience, Moss said the video should explain his extended leave. 'Just watching and enjoying is all I need from you all. For now that's it but I will 100% be seeing you bloody legends again very very soon..' His return to social media has prompted relief among fans, with cheers of 'let's go!' and 'the king is back' as the adventurer dives back into the unknown in search of gripping content.

Miranda Lambert pledges support to Texas via her animal foundation

Miranda Lambert has pledged to help the "pet community" in Texas following a devastating flood. The 41-year-old singer has been left distraught by the tragedy in her home state - which saw the banks of the Guadalupe River in Kerr County to burst following heavy rainfall - and revealed her own non-profit organisation, MuttNation Foundation, is "working really closely" in the area to help bring aid to local residents and their pets who have been displaced as a result of the storms. Miranda said in a video shared to her Instagram account: 'Hey y'all. I just want to jump on here and say how devastated we are to hear about the floods in South and Central Texas. I can't even come up with any words for the loss that everybody's suffering. 'MuttNation Foundation is working really closely with Kerrville Pets Alive, as we speak to try to get more info and figure out where the needs are to support the pet community and pet owners in this disaster. 'We will have more info as it goes, but I'll post everything that I know to post right now. So y'all join with us and try to help out as much as you can, and keep sending prayers, and I'll keep you posted.' In the wake of the flood, the death toll has risen to 82 and 41 people are still listed as missing, including 10 young girls who were attending a Christian summer camp. And Khloe Kardashian - who has True, seven, and two-year-old Tatum with former partner Tristan Thompson - admitted her "heart is so deeply aching" as a result of the tragedy. She wrote on her Instagram Story: 'I can't stop thinking about the families in Texas and the overwhelming pain they're going through right now. 'As a mother, this kind of tragedy hits in a place words can't reach. The loss of those sweet, innocent children is something I can't fully process, there are just no words for this. 'My heart is so deeply aching for every parent, every family member, and every community. Please know that so many of us are carrying you in our hearts right now and I'm praying with everything I have in me for those still missing. Texas, we are holding you close." Hilary Duff, who hails from Texas, is "praying for a miracle". She wrote on her own Instagram account: 'Heartbroken doesn't begin to cover it. Consumed. Obsessed. Praying for even a shred of a miracle — to find a child alive in the wake of this boundless disaster. "Tears fall every time I imagine one of these families receiving bad news … waiting … or entire families lost. Just gone. It's just too much to comprehend. 'Beautiful Texas, I love you. To all the boots on the ground — I love you" The former Lizzie McGuire star reflected on her own younger years attending summer camp in the state. She added: 'I was — and forever will be — that girl with a wild hearted, fierce love for my barefoot summers at camp in the Texas Hill country. 'It imprints on your soul. It changes your identity. It's a realm of true magic. You could never imagine an ending this tragic. I'm just so deeply, absolutely sorry. Your loss is felt across the world.'

Billy Brownless targeted by social media trolls over anniversary post

Billy Brownless has found himself the target of social media trolls as the AFL icon celebrated his one year anniversary with partner Crystle Fleur. The 198-game Geelong Cats star was soaking up the bubbling romance, but a post on social media quickly took an ugly turn. FOX FOOTY, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every match of every round in the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season LIVE in 4K, with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Get your first month for just $1. Limited-time offer. Fleur, 52, took to social media to gush about Brownless, 58, and hinted at what may be in store for the couple. 'Happy 1st anniversary to this amazing man!' Fleur captioned the upload. '365 days of love, laughter and amazing adventures as we fly off to start the biggest one yet.' And while the post received a flood of support from friends, the nasty comments quickly began to pour in. One commenter wrote: 'Money can buy u happiness.' A second posted: 'And I thought Bradman batted way above his average.' A third added: 'Gary Lyon somewhere lurking looking to swoop in at any given opportunity.' Another wrote: 'Punching above your weight there big man.' Several however came to the defence of Brownless and took aim at the trolls trying to dampen the happiness of the couple. A fed up commenter wrote: 'I can't believe some of the comments on this! People are gross, and likely just jealous of you guys (or unhappy in their own sh*tty lives). You both look very happy. Congrats on 1 year, & many more to come!' Former AFL player Dale Thomas wrote: 'Congrat guys' alongside the raising hands emoji. Brownless and Fleur went public with their relationship in October last year at Geelong's best and fairest night. The then 57-year-old Cats Hall of Famer was seen arm in arm with the 52-year-old mum of three with the two being sighted at a plethora of events since. The pair had reportedly been going strong for two months before their first public outing. The happy couple were spotted after the AFL Grand Final speaking with his ex-wife Nicky Brownless and former best mate and Melbourne great Garry Lyon. Brownless and Nicky were together for 18 years before splitting in 2014. In 2016 Lyon's friendship with Brownless fell apart after he went public with Nicky. A month after their relationship made headlines, Billy revealed how the relationship had impacted his family, saying 'a good mate wouldn't do that'. 'I couldn't believe it. I found out three or four months ago. I asked Garry and Nicky earlier on what is going on and they said they were just good friends,' he said on the Footy Show at the time. 'That's what hurts the most.' The former best mates have since reunited with the duo spending several Christmases together as an extended family. Lyon surprised Nicky in December, 2023 when he proposed and she said yes. Nicky clearly wasn't expecting the move, announcing the news of the engagement on her Instagram account, posting a black and white photo of the pair embracing with the caption 'the best surprise'. The duo, who have been together for eight years, took off to New York shortly after the proposal.
