Shafee files police report on behalf of Najib over 'royal addendum'
KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah has filed a police report, on behalf of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, against former attorney general Tan Sri Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh concerning the issue of the Royal Addendum, Sinar Harian reports.
Muhammad Shafee, who is Najib's lead counsel, told the Malay language daily that he was instructed by Najib to file the report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters on Monday (June 16).
"Previously, Najib had sought permission to file a police report either from within prison or with the assistance of prison authorities to make a report at the Kajang district police headquarters.
"However, the request did not receive a positive response. Therefore, he instructed me to file the report," he said on Monday.
Shafee said that the report was filed against Ahmad Terrirudin under Sections 204 and 209 of the Penal Code.
"The offences alleged in the report are related to the Royal Addendum. I will not comment further as this report is an investigation document," he told Sinar Harian.
Earlier, on May 29, Shafee revealed that Najib had not received any response despite seven letters being sent to confirm the existence of the Royal Addendum.
At a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex, Shafee explained that the letters were sent to the then Attorney General, Ahmad Terrirudin, the Home Affairs Ministry, and the director-general of Prisons.
However, he said that there was no response or confirmation that the letters had been received by any of the relevant parties.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have received three reports about an incident that occurred during a rally held in the capital on Saturday (June 28) afternoon, including a scuffle that resulted in minor injuries to a police personnel. Police receive three reports over anti-graft rally scuffle
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have received three reports following the Himpunan Rakyat Benci Rasuah 2.0 rally, which turned tense after a participant ignited a flare, sparking a scuffle between demonstrators and security personnel. The rally, organised by Sekretariat Rakyat Benci Rasuah and attended by around 100 participants, including student groups, began at Kompleks Sogo before moving towards Dataran Merdeka. Dang Wangi district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, said a participant lit a flare during the rally, releasing thick smoke that posed a safety risk to others. He said officers quickly intervened to contain the situation, but a brief scuffle ensued, resulting in minor injuries to a policeman. "During the preventive action taken, a minor scuffle broke out between rally participants and personnel from Op Aman, resulting in minor injuries to one policeman. "The situation was quickly brought under control by police," he said in a statement today. Sulizmie said three police reports had been lodged, and investigations are ongoing under Section 353 of the Penal Code for using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging their duties, as well as Sections 3(5) and 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. He also urged the public not to speculate on the incident, as this could interfere with ongoing investigations. "Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-2115 9999, the Dang Wangi district control centre at 03-2600 2222, or the nearest police station," he said.
