Finding a pair that doesn't leave you sweating buckets. My criteria? Loose, flowy and in a lightweight fabric. I love Canadian brand Reitmans, and I recently found myself with a few hours to kill after dropping my son off at his birthday party. I browsed their new arrivals and ended up trying on more than a dozen pairs of pants. Below, I rounded up nine of my favourite pairs that are comfy, cute, chic and pass the hot weather sweat test. The best part? They're all incredibly flattering on my 48-year-old body, and they're affordable to boot — every single pair is on sale. Wide-Leg High-Rise Linen Blend Pants $28 $65 at Reitmans These pull-on pants were definitely a hit! The soft linen-viscose blend feels amazingly silky against my skin, and these honestly look like a pair I recently spotted at Aritzia for more than double the price. These pants have just the right amount of stretch and are all about classic comfort. Pair them with a V-neck T-shirt, a blazer and some summer wedges, and they can easily go from day to night. They're super flattering and perfect for a humid summer evening. You can easily wear them for a workout or running errands, and the wide leg cut and non-functional welt pockets at the back keep them from looking sloppy. Pair them with cute sneakers and a ribbed tank for your next coffee date! Straight-Leg Sleeveless Jumpsuit with Square Neckline $28 $85 at Reitmans OK, not exactly pants, but I'm hoping you'll forgive me since this is just so darn cute. This trendy linen-viscose blended jumpsuit is all about the details. The square neckline and buttoned-down sides add a touch of elegance, while the self-tie sash at the waist creates a flattering shape. Plus, the deep utility pockets mean my keys won't fall out when I'm running errands. I wouldn't typically consider myself a jumpsuit person, but this one is so comfortable and cute that this low-maintenance mama is ready to jump right in! Hyba Cropped Wide-Leg Scuba Pants $33 $55 at Reitmans The stretch scuba fabric of these relaxed pants is not only great for repelling stains, but the wide-legged cut also gives them a fresh, modern look. Cool! Wide-Leg Cropped Piqué Pants $21 $50 at Reitmans These wide-legged cropped pants check all the boxes: a pull-on waistband, stretchy fabric and flowy. The lightweight viscose-nylon blend is perfect for wearing over your swimsuit at the beach or pairing with a stylish tank and flats for a girls' night out. As a 48-year-old mom of two, I can throw on these pants with a clean shirt and feel ready for anything. Jogger Pants $48 $60 at Reitmans For the past decade, I don't think I've gone a day without slipping into a pair of joggers. They're just so easy to dress up or down. The stretchy knit fabric of these high-rise drawstring pants offers loose-fitting comfort at its finest. I adore the patch pockets at the back as well as the fully functional utility pockets at the front. For me, pull-on waistband pants are a staple of my everyday look, and the slight balloon leg cut of these makes them extra special. Wide-Leg High-Rise Jean with Pleats $56 $70 at Reitmans I don't own many jeans, as I personally find it tough to find a pair that flatters my 48-year-old body. However, these are so comfortable and chic that I couldn't pass them up. The stretch denim fabric drapes perfectly, and the double front pleats add a fun, oversized look.
