Egypt's Grand Mufti Meets Thai Ambassador to Cairo to Boost Religious Cooperation
The Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, met with Thai Ambassador Thanawat Srikaew to discuss enhancing cooperation in training muftis.
Dr. Ayyad highlighted Dar Al-Ifta's efforts in fatwa training, countering extremism and atheism, integrating AI into fatwa work, and promoting family cohesion. He affirmed the institution's readiness to share its expertise with Thailand.
From his part, ambassador Srikaew praised Dar Al-Ifta's achievements and expressed his country's interest in benefiting from its experience to promote moderate religious discourse and peaceful coexistence.

PKK Fighters Burn Weapons in Historic Event
Taarek Refaat In a historic ceremony near the city of Slemani in northern Iraq, members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) symbolically laid down their arms on Friday, marking the end of over four decades of armed struggle against Turkey. Al Mashat Attends Farewell Ceremony for British Amb. in Cairo

In his farewell address, Ambassador Bayley expressed his sincere gratitude to the Egyptian government and people for the warm hospitality he received during his tenure. He acknowledged the longstanding and historical relationship between Egypt and the UK, underscoring the depth of cooperation between the two nations, both at the governmental and private sector levels. Bayley also pointed to several UK-supported projects in Egypt, such as the "Novee" National Platform, which plays a crucial role in attracting climate investments and advancing Egypt's green transformation agenda.
