K-drama actors like Kim Seon Ho, Kim Hyun Joong and more were embroiled in massive scandals in the past, regarding the treatment of their former partners. Recently, a case involving footballer Son Heung Min's girlfriend and allegations of extortion has drawn comparisons to these past scandals. Netizens have noted similarities between the scandals, particularly pointed out a common sensitive issue in all of them– allegations of forced abortion.
Son Heung Min's ex-girlfriend abortion controversy
Son Heung Min, who recently lifted the Europa League Cup as the proud Tottenham Hotspur captain, is currently making headlines for another issue as well. His former partner claimed pregnancy, with undisclosed paternity test results. He reportedly paid her 300 million KRW and had her sign an NDA. Her new partner allegedly tried to blackmail him for an additional 70 million KRW, leading to a police complaint and their imprisonment.
Besides him several other South Korean celebrities, including popular actors like Kim Seon Ho and Kim Hyun Joong and basketball player Heo Woong have been under heavy scrutiny following their ex-girlfriend's bombshell accusations against them. All of them faced similar controversies in recent years that drew significant public attention and sparked widespread discussion. Read to know about their cases.
Kim Seon Ho's ex-girlfriend abortion controversy
In 2021, Kim Seon Ho faced controversy over allegations of pressuring his ex-girlfriend to have an abortion, which led to immense backlash and his temporary hiatus from the acting scene. However, an investigation by K-media outlet Dispatch found the claims to be baseless, revealing instead that Kim Seon Ho ended the relationship after discovering his girlfriend's infidelity.
The abortion also reportedly took place on their mutual agreement. Following the clarification, Kim Seon Ho's career rebounded, with new projects, increased social media following, and support from industry peers, marking a notable comeback.
Kim Hyun Joong's ex-girlfriend abortion controversy
Boys Over Flowers' iconic second lead, Yoon Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong), was embroiled in a scandal, with former partner accusing him of physically a*saulted her and coerced her to into abortion. She filed a criminal complaint against him and sought damages worth billions of KRW. She birthed their child in 2015 and continued the legal battle thereafter. Following a prolonged legal battle, the South Korean Supreme Court ultimately ruled in favor of the actor-singer in November 2020.
The court determined that the ex-partner's claims were unfounded and ordered her to pay him 100 million KRW in damages for defaming him through false allegations. After clearing his name of the scandal, Kim Hyun Joong appeared in the 2024 Japanese-Korean co-production drama, Time Without Her.
Heo Ung's ex-girlfriend abortion controversy
Heo Ung, a basketball player, was accused by an ex-partner of pressuring her to have two abortions in June 2024. They reportedly dated in 2021, but even after three years of breaking up, she continued to extort money from him by threatening him to reveal details of their relationship and her abortion to the public.
In response to that, the sportsperson filed a lawsuit against her at the Gangnam Police Station for blackmail and defamation. Investigations found that the woman's claims against him were false and her intentions behind the same was just financial gain. As a result, authorities concluded that there was not enough evidence to support her allegations and the case was dismissed.
The above-mentioned cases showcase a pattern of maligning K-celebrities' reputation for personal benefits, including fame and money. The cases highlight the intricacies celebrities encounter when personal issues become public controversies. It also emphasizes the significance of due process and the profound impact such allegations can have on their careers and lives.

BTS V's New Photoshoot Has Fans Calling Him ‘The Definition Of Perfection'

Kim Taehyung turned out to be a muse for a magazine and was photographed by the well-known photographer Kim Hee June. ARMYs, hold your breath because Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, is back and looks more breathtaking than ever. The 29-year-old K-pop idol, who got discharged from the military following the completion of his mandatory service in June this year, has returned to the spotlight in the most stylish way possible. He became a muse for a magazine and was captured through the lens of the well-known photographer Kim Hee June. V turned out to be the cover star for The Sure magazine's August issue. The BTS member, as usual, took everyone's breath away with his magnetic personality and dreamy looks. For the pictures, he wore Celine, the same luxury label for which he is a global brand ambassador. The photos were taken during V's trip to Paris for fashion week in June. In one set of pictures, the global icon rocked a crisp striped shirt with black trousers and a loosened tie, exuding his usual charm as he posed against the backdrop of the Parisian cityscape. In a few other photos, V decided to go bold, wearing a mesh top paired with an over-the-top fur jacket, a leather jacket and black pants. Some other images captured him in just a white vest and pants, showcasing his fit and sculpted physique. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sure Magazine (@suremagazine) Fans Couldn't Stop Gushing Over V's Looks Fans, of course, had a lot to say about V's latest dreamy photoshoot. Taking to the comment section of the Instagram post by the magazine, one user wrote, 'He truly is a global icon. The camera loves him whether he's funny, serious, charming, humble, etc… Even his simple ways become grand whenever in focus… He truly is born to be loved and deserves our admiration." Another added, 'Kim Taehyung is really the definition of perfection. So excited for this." 'Effortlessly handsome, endlessly captivating," a different fan said while praising the idol. What's Next For BTS' V? These new pictures came right after V teased his fans, saying that he had some surprise in store for them. During his live broadcast, he said, 'Actually, in August, there will be a little something for ARMYs to see." This led to speculations about a possible comeback or a fresh solo project. While it's not sure if V was talking about the same photoshoot, fans were still happy to see new pictures of their favourite idol. Moreover, recently, V was also announced as the new endorsement model for Coca-Cola in Korea. Workwise, he is also busy preparing for a new album with his bandmates in the US. KPop Demon Hunters: BTS' Jungkook's Soda Pop cover earns BIG reaction from voice of Jinu, ‘Pointed out a mistake…'

KPop Demon Hunters is one of the most viral things to come out of 2025— we're looking at you, nine-toothed dolls— and anyone online would have caught a glimpse of the phenomenon by now. BTS have previously expressed their liking towards the movie, including impromptu covers and dance challenges. With 2 possible sequels and a live-action being eyed for the future of the story, it's unlikely that the connections would die down any time soon. It's no surprise that the stars behind the show have gotten utterly famous, and the man behind Jinu- not Ahn Hyo Seop - but the singer Andrew Choi, have gained a lot of fans. Reacting to Jungkook's cover of one of the songs in the Netflix film, he showered praise on the BTS member. KPop Demon Hunters star calls Jungkook a 'true vocalist' In a video shared by Straits Time Online, Andrew Choi, the 'The thing that I love about Jungkook is that he sings with such ease, which is a sign of a true vocalist. Jungkook's performance is 11 out of 10,' he said while reacting to a song cover of Soda Pop that the BTS member did casually during a livestream. Watching the video further, he noticed how a lyric error in the track was noticed by the K-pop star. 'Jungkook pointed out a mistake in the movie's OST Soda Pop. I didn't even notice it. No one seemed to have noticed it until Jungkook took a listen to it. So thank you, Jungkook, for that.' Moreover, another video showed the singer picking his own version of the Saja Boys lineup in real life. He started off with the BTS maknae Jungkook with his superstar power and all-rounder base, and then moved to another maknae from NCT, Mark, for his rapping skills. He continued by adding Cha Eun Woo for visuals, often believed to be the biggest inspiration for the character of Jinu, especially after his Free OST cover with Arden Cho, the voice actor for Rumi. Strong vocalists in the form of EXO's Baekyun or D.O. were his next pick, and adding to that DAY6's Young K, would form his version of the perfect demon group from the animated film.
