Lucy Liu and Justin Theroux join cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2
The actors have been added to the line-up of the sequel to the 2006 film alongside returning stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci while Variety reports B.J. Novak and Pauline Chalamet have also joined the project.
The original film - which is based on the semi-autobiographical novel by Lauren Weisberger - followed Anne Hathaway as an aspiring journalist who starts working for formidable Runway magazine boss Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep).
The sequel is believed to take up the story as Priestly deals with issues relating to the decline in magazine publishing and faces off with her former assistant Emily (Emily Blunt), who is now a high-powered executive at a luxury fashion group in control of much-needed advertising revenue that could save the publication.
The project is believed to have started filming - with location shoots planned for New York City and Italy - ahead of a planned 2026 release.
David Frankel - who directed the 2006 film - is back on board for the sequel along with screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna.
Kenneth Branagh was previously reported to have joined the cast, playing Priestly's husband.
Blunt previously suggested that filming would kick off this month and that there will be some "beef" between her alter-ego and Streep's character.
She told Entertainment Tonight: "[Streep and I are] so mean to each other in every movie [they] do".
"We always have beef with each other. I don't know what it is. Let's hope we remedy it. I'm not sure!"
However, the actress admitted she doesn't know what her character Emily is up to now as she remained coy about giving away any plot details.
She said: "I don't know. Where is [Emily]? I don't know Can you tell I'm skirting the issue? Can you tell I'm not telling you anything?"
Blunt also noted that she had no idea that she would ever return to the role that started her career almost 20 years ago.
She added: "No. Twenty years ago, in a blink, it's gone by."
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set for release on July 1 2026.

The movie is one of a number of Colleen's novels being adapted for the big screen following the popularity of a third, last year's It Ends With Us. Maika Monroe was recently cast in Reminders of Him, for which the author has co-written the screenplay. The film - which will be directed by Vanessa Caswill - follows Kenna Rowan, who returns to her hometown after serving five years in prison for a tragic accident hoping to reunite with her daughter - but faces resistance from those determined to keep her away. As she forms an unexpected connection with Ledger Ward, a local bar owner, their growing bond threatens to upend the fragile trust of those around them, forcing Kenna to confront her past in pursuit of redemption and a second chance. In addition, Regretting You will star Allison Williams, Scott Eastwood, Dave Franco, Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames and Willa Fitzgerald, and is an adaptation of the author's 2019 book of the same name. The novel follows the turbulent relationship between Morgan Grant and her teenage daughter Clara and explores the themes of grief and first love.

Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing will return for Practical Magic 2. The pair – who played the eccentric aunts of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman's characters in the original 1998 movie – are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel, according to Variety. Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod, Joey King and Lee Pace will also co-star. Meanwhile, producer Denise Di Novi previously promised that fans will be "very pleased" with the sequel. Di Novi explained how the crew will "be respectful to the characters, story, and locations" from the original picture. She said: "It's going to be in 2025, but I'm not exactly sure when. We're just beginning the script, and Akiva Goldsman, who worked on the original and 10 million other things since then, is writing the script." Nicole confirmed that she and Sandra would be appearing in the sequel just days after the project was announced by Warner Bros. She told People magazine: "Yes I will be in it. And Sandy will be in it. And that's that. "There's a lot more to tell which is why we go, 'OK, this is kind of interesting now to be able to do this.' (We) found a way in."

Carry-On director Jaume Collet-Serra lands rare Netflix film deal
Carry-On director Jaume Collet-Serra has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix. The 51-year-old filmmaker has put pen to paper on a rare overall agreement with the streaming giant after his 2024 action thriller - which starred Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton - became Netflix's second highest viewed film of all time, clocking up 185 million views. He told Variety: 'From production to release, my experience making Carry-On with the Netflix team was everything a filmmaker could hope for. 'I'm thrilled to call Netflix my creative home and excited to keep pushing boundaries together, beginning with An Innocent Girl.' The upcoming psychological thriller will have Collet-Serra at the helm as director and producer, alongside Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. The film will follow a young and ambitious woman who gets seduced by a high powered couple in Washington D.C. as she gets pulled into a world of power, sex and murder. Netflix film vice president Doug Belgrad praised Collet-Serra as 'one of the most in-demand directors out there right now". He added: "And for good reason — he knows how to deliver big, high-stakes stories that audiences love. "The fact that he chose to make this deal with us, especially after the great experience we had together on Carry-On, says a lot. "He's never been hotter, and we look forward to keeping that momentum going with him.' According to Deadline, the director - who most recently worked on survival thriller Play Dead - has has another project lined up for his Netflix deal. As well as An Innocent Girl, his slate includes a reimagining of 1993 mountain rescue action movie Cliffhanger, which starred Sylvester Stallone alongside John Lithgow, Michael Rooker and Janine Turner. The new version will star Lily James and Pierce Brosnan. Fans shouldn't necessarily expect a Carry-On sequel as part of the Netflix agreement, as he revealed back in January that a follow-up to the airport action thriller was "not in the cards" at the time. However, he did tell Variety: "I would like to definitely make another one. "When we started with the movie, it certainly felt like one unique story in a moment in time with a set of characters. "If an idea comes to us that feels like we can do something that is as original as the first one, and that can connect with the audience in the same way, then we'll explore that.' The film followed young TSA officer Ethan Kopek (Egerton) who gets blackmailed by the mysterious Traveler (Bateman) into letting a enrve agent on board a Christmas Eve flight carrying 250 people. Previously, Collet-Serra has shown his diversity as a filmmaker with a wide range of projects. As well as Disney blockbuster Jungle Cruise - based on the theme park attraction of the same name - he's also directed horror films like House of Wax, Orphan and The Shadows.
