According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recall affects approximately 851,400 Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers sold in the US and around 1,100 in Canada.
The company stated that magnets inside the diffuser's detachable covers may come loose. If swallowed, these small, high-powered magnets can stick together inside the digestive system, causing serious medical issues such as intestinal blockages, infection, or even death.
According to the CPSC release, there have been three reports of the magnets detaching. So far, no injuries have been reported.
The affected products were sold between August 2023 and May 2025 at retail stores including Target and Scheels, as well as online through Pura's official website, Amazon, and other platforms. The diffusers were priced at around $50.
Pura Scents also offers all customers free replacement covers. Consumers are advised to stop using the current cover, dispose of it, and keep the diffuser out of the reach of children and pets.

Retail giant Walmart has issued a recall of about 850,000 stainless steel water bottles in the United States after two customers suffered permanent vision loss as its faulty lids forcefully ejected in their faces, a July 10 US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) notice stated. The recall by Walmart covers 'Ozark Trail 64 oz Stainless Steel Insulated Water Bottles' which have been sold at Walmart's stores across the US since 2017. The notice by US CPSC states that these products pose 'serious impact and laceration hazards,' Associated Press reported. The CPSC notes that when a consumer tries to open the bottle after food, carbonated beverages or perishable beverages, such as juice or milk are stored in them for a long period of time, the lid can eject forcefully. According to reports, Walmart has till now received three reports of people getting injured in the face by the lids while opening the bottles. Two of those three have suffered permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye, CPSC stated. In a statement to Associated Press, Walmart said 'The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority.'
