CM inaugurates double-decker flyover on Ashok Rajpath

on Wednesday inaugurated the much-awaited double-decker flyover on Ashok Rajpath, giving a major boost to infrastructure development in the capital. This project, constructed at the cost of Rs 422 crore, is the first of its kind in the state and will provide relief to commuters travelling to PMCH, Patna University, and important trade hubs like Govind Mitra Road and Khazanchi Road.

After the inauguration, the CM inspected the flyover from Kargil Chowk to Science College and back. During this time, he paused on the flyover to gather information about its connectivity with the PMCH. The CM remarked that the double-deck flyover was very well constructed and its completion will alleviate traffic congestion on Ashok Rajpath and improve the traffic system.
The upper deck (Tier-II) of this flyover is 2,175.50 metres long and is designated for traffic heading from Gandhi Maidan to Science College.
The lower deck (Tier-I) is 1,449.30 metres long and serves traffic moving from Patna College towards Gandhi Maidan up to the main gate of BN College. Both decks provide connectivity to the PMCH. The width of the decks is 8.5 metres. This facility will help ease the traffic congestion from the crowded part of the capital.
Chairman of Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited, Shirsat Kapil Ashok, said the portion of Ashok Rajpath leading towards the eastern part of Patna will now have four tiers in total, which include two tiers of the flyover, one service road on the ground, and the upcoming metro, which will be running parallel underground.
Apart from this mega project, the CM also inaugurated the newly constructed building of the State Urdu Library, Patna, costing around Rs 3.70 crore by unveiling the plaque and cutting the ribbon. After the inauguration, he inspected the new building and reviewed its facilities. He noted that the library offers a peaceful environment and basic amenities for reading and study, making it convenient for scholars. The new building will provide additional convenience to readers and researchers.
He emphasized maintaining the facilities and the building.
