Actor ‘addicted' to Karen Read trial says he invited her to Mass. concert
John Stamos appears to be a fan of Karen Read.
The actor, who is currently on tour with The Beach Boys, said he was 'addicted' to the trial during a concert at Lowell Memorial Auditorium on June 10.
'I'm addicted to the trial,' Stamos said before telling the crowd that he 'invited Karen Read' to the show, according to a TikTok that was reshared by The Young Jurks on Facebook.
The audience erupted in cheers and laughter before Stamos shared that this July will mark his 40th year of playing with The Beach Boys. Since 1985, the 'Full House' star has sung and played various instruments with the band, including drums and various other percussion instruments.
Stamos honored The Beach Boys' late co-founder Brian Wilson in an emotional tribute on his Instagram on June 11, the day Wilson died.
'Brian Wilson didn't just soundtrack my life … he filled it with color, with wonder, with some of the most unforgettable, emotional, joyful moments I've ever known," Stamos wrote, adding that 'it's hard to put into words what it meant to stand beside him, laugh with him, play his music with him.'
'His music made me feel things I didn't know how to say. It made me want to make people feel the way his music made me feel. So much of my life and career, so much of me, exists because of what Brian created,' the actor wrote. 'Rest easy, Brian. Thank you for the music. Thank you for the moments. I'll carry them with me -forever.'
Meanwhile, jurors in the Karen Read trial continued their deliberations Monday morning. The jury began deliberating last Friday. The jury heard from dozens of witnesses over the eight weeks of the trial.
Read, 45, is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death in the death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O'Keefe.
Prosecutors say Read backed her SUV into O'Keefe, then left him to die in the snow outside the home of a fellow Boston Police officer in Canton on Jan. 29, 2022. Read's defense has insisted there was no collision and others are responsible for O'Keefe's death.

CT man sentenced to prison for drug trafficking
A Waterbury man has been sentenced to two years in prison for trafficking cocaine, officials said. Robert Amatruda, 41, was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Judge Alvin Thompson in Hartford to two years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release for trafficking cocaine, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office for the District of Connecticut. According to court documents and statements made in court, the case stems from a DEA New Haven task force and Waterbury Police Department investigation into drug trafficking in and around the city of Waterbury. The investigation, which included court-authorized wiretaps on multiple phones, physical surveillance, controlled purchases of narcotics, and motor vehicle stops that resulted in the seizure of drugs and cash proceeds, revealed that Jose Duprey, trafficked kilogram-quantities of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl, officials said. Duprey used his place of employment to supply narcotics to other drug distributors, and he used his girlfriend's business, located on Straits Turnpike in Middlebury, to store narcotics and other items. During a wiretap, Amatruda was intercepted numerous times speaking with Duprey to arrange narcotics transactions. Amatruda purchased cocaine from Duprey to distribute to others, and sometimes provided Duprey with cocaine. Amatruda, Duprey and 12 other individuals identified during this investigation were arrested on May 25, 2022. On that date, a search of Duprey's Waterbury residence and his Middlebury stash location revealed approximately 10 kilograms of cocaine, two kilograms of heroin, two kilograms of fentanyl, and more than $107,000 in cash. On July 31, 2023, Amatruda pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine. Duprey, of Waterbury, pleaded guilty to related charges and, on March 26, 2024, was sentenced to nearly 12 years in prison for drug offenses and for violating the conditions of his supervised release from a prior federal narcotics trafficking conviction. The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration New Haven Task Force and the Waterbury Police Department, with the assistance of DEA offices in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey; the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; U.S. Marshals Service; U.S. Postal Inspection Service; Connecticut State Police; Connecticut Department of Correction; Connecticut State Parole; and the Naugatuck, Ansonia, West Haven, Meriden and East Haven Police Departments. "Lose Yourself" returns to a pair of Billboard rankings this frame, breaking back onto both the Rap Digital Song Sales and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales tallies. It reenters those lists at Nos. 8 and 14, respectively. It wouldn't be unusual for a musician as celebrated as Eminem to score one or two hits in the United States, even with decades-old tunes. But what is notable is that "Lose Yourself" remains a top 10 bestseller — albeit only on a genre-specific roster. "Lose Yourself" is approaching 500 weeks on both of the charts on which it currently appears. If it can hold on for another month on the Rap Digital Song Sales tally, it will hit that milestone. While it still has several dozen more frames to go on the broader R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales ranking, it seems likely that it will eventually make it to that landmark figure as well. Amazingly, despite the fact that "Lose Yourself" has spent nearly 500 spans on both charts, it has yet to reach No. 1 on either of them. Eminem's smash has stalled in the runner-up space on both sales lists, coming frustratingly close to adding to his growing roster of champions on more than one occasion. Eminem's Oscar-Winning Smash Eminem released "Lose Yourself" in October 2002. The song served as the lead single from the 8 Mile soundtrack. The tune was a huge commercial success, ruling the Hot 100 for 12 consecutive frames and dominating multiple other rankings around the world. In addition to becoming yet another hit for the rapper, "Lose Yourself" also won Eminem several Grammy Awards and even the Academy Award for Best Original Song, making him the first rapper to snag that prize.
