Land Rover Discovery in hit and run incident in North Wales village
Police are investigating reports that a Land Rover Discovery hit a pedestrian in the centre of a North Wales village before leaving the scene.
They say the incident happened at around 1.30pm outside the Fox and Grapes pub in Hawarden.
Police say the driver then left the scene. It has not been stated what injuries the pedestrian sustained.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "We're appealing for information following a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Hawarden on Monday 7th July.
"It is reported that the driver of a dark coloured Land Rover Discovery has hit a man at around 1.30pm near the Fox and Grapes on The Highway, Hawarden.
"The driver of the car did not stop at the scene and drove towards the Broughton area.
"Officers are appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle after the incident to contact us.
"We are also appealing for anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage of the car or the incident to contact us.

Ayr murder probe launched after man 'stabbed to death'

They swarmed the residential area earlier this evening. "A man has been stabbed. There was an air ambulance that landed on a nearby field. It left shortly after. "More police began to arrive all over the area and started knocking doors in. There was armed response officers with shields at an address on Braeside Road. There's now sniffer dog units out as well. "They are clearly looking for someone." Detectives say they are probing a number of lines of enquiry. A police presence is set to remain in the area. Detective Inspector Steven Slater of the Major Investigation Team said: 'Our thoughts are with Mark's family and friends at this very difficult time. "An extensive investigation is ongoing and officers are following a number of lines of enquiry. 'Additional officers remain in the area, and I would encourage anyone who has concerns, or any information, to approach them. 'I continue to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything that could assist with our investigation to get in touch by contacting Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 3237 of 5 July, 2025.' The landlord has since submitted plans to convert the site close to Bangor Cathedral into smaller retail units after saying they couldn't secure a new retail tenant. The Gwynedd North community policing team said: "A sophisticated cannabis cultivation has been uncovered by the Clear, Hold, Build team in Bangor. On Tuesday 1st of July 2025, North Wales Police received information suggesting that cannabis was being cultivated at the old New Look site in Bangor complete with lighting, ventilation and enough cannabis plants to start a small forest. "Officers have accessed the address and located a large scale cannabis grow, not exactly the kind of greenery we like to see in Bangor. While we support homegrown businesses, this one went way beyond the legal limit. "Our investigation is ongoing and we would ask that anyone with information comes forward, we are particularly interested in any movements, vehicles or persons entering or exiting the building since April 2025.
