TV star stuns fans with pregnancy news days after going public with girlfriend
Adventurer and TV star Levison Wood has announced he's expecting his first child just days after going public with his new relationship.
The soldier, 43, who is best known for his daring treks across some of the world 's most dangerous terrains, revealed the exciting news on Instagram alongside a sweet tribute to his girlfriend Ana. Levison posted a photo of them together with big grins on their faces, writing: "Happy birthday to this wonderful human being! (And yep we're having a baby, not just a big lunch)."
The announcement comes just four days after Levison went Instagram official with Ana. He shared a selection of cute snaps showing them exploring the great outdoors together, writing: "Over the years I've met many people on the road, but every now and then, someone comes along who doesn't just travel with you, but changes the pace of the journey entirely. This is Ana.
"We've been exploring a shared path together lately, one filled with plenty of adventures, challenges and commitment. An exciting new chapter awaits."
Fans were quick to flood the comments section with congratulations for the new chapter of parenthood Levison is about to experience, with one exclaiming: "Massive congratulations to you both! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and beautiful new adventures as a trio!"
Another added: "Looks like you'll both be amazing parents." Levison became a household name in 2015 after his Channel 4 series Walking the Nile.
He has made a career out of tackling some of the toughest terrains on the planet, including the length of the Himalayas and some difficult treks in South America.
While doing that he also earned himself British heartthrob status, which he admitted baffled him in an interview with Holly Willoughby on This Morning in 2016.
He told her: "It's bizarre, isn't it? Who'd have thought a programme about walking would be deemed to have that? It can be quite overwhelming at times… but very flattering."
Levison also talked to The Sun about his love life - or lack of it - as recently as 2023, saying: "I'd love to have a family one day, but I don't think there is any need to follow convention and settle down at all.
"Sod that, I'm more up for continuing the adventures, no matter what. But I try to avoid talking about finding someone and love, as the last time I did, I ended up with a stalker."
Despite his rugged exterior, Levison has had more than his fair share of close calls. During one expedition in the Himalayas, a local taxi he was travelling in went off a cliff after its brakes failed, plunging 150 metres into a jungle ravine.
He suffered a badly broken arm and had to have metal plates inserted, but despite the painful operation he returned to complete the trek just five weeks later.
And it's not just broken bones he has had to contend with. During his Walking the Nile journey, Levison ended up having to carry on with the trip after the sudden death of his companion, American journalist Matthew Power, who collapsed from heat exhaustion in Uganda.

Love Island host Maya Jama is already one of the most loved and recognisable TV presenters in the UK at the minute, but fans can expect to see even more of her in the near future We might be about to see a lot more of Maya Jama as she eyes up a huge career move. The Love Island host is looking to cash in on her popularity by launching her own YouTube series. Sources close to the presenter, 30, say she's keen to follow in the footsteps of influencers such as Molly-Mae Hague, who make millions from their content. Maya even teased the plans on Instagram, calling out the 'lurking likers'. She wrote: '10 million eyes on my last post and 115 million in the last 30 days. The lurking to like ratio is crazy. Maybe I do need to start YouTube so I can convert the watchers to money.' It comes after Maya looked happier than ever as she shared a series of romantic snaps with Man City boyfriend Ruben Dias. Jojo Siwa accused of 'disrespecting' Eminem with new single
JoJo Siwa has come under fire from fans for her new single, which some have taken as a slight against the Real Slim Shady, aka Eminem. JoJo, 22, released a clip from the upcoming song to her social media this weekend in response to 'haters' of her recent Bette Davis Eyes cover. In a caption which accompanied the video on TikTok and Instagram, JoJo wrote: 'People had a lot to say about Bette Davis Eyes… so I started writing right away! 'New song coming soon, can you guess what it's gonna be called?🌪️💎💡' In the lyrics, the Dance Moms star raps: 'Eyes like Bette Davis. Hear my voice and you know what my name is. Wise beyond my age. That's what happens when you're little and put on the stage.' She then attracted the ire of music fans by rapping: 'Don't hate me, I'm just a lil baby,' before describing herself as 'Slim Shady.' The Eminem mention hadn't gone unnoticed by fans, many of whom took to the comments to warn her against 'disrespecting' rap icon Slim.
