With his new comedy Overcompensating coming out this month, it's time for audiences to get to know comedian and actor Benito Skinner, also known as Benny Drama on social media!
Overcompensating is poised to be one of the breakout comedy hits of the year, with its unapologetic point of view, terrifically smart sense of humor, and relatability. Oh, and don't forget about a killer cast!
Learn more about Benito Skinner — and make sure to watch when it premieres May 15 on Prime Video.

Benito Skinner was born on November 3, 1993. He is 31 of this writing, and will turn 32 later this year.

Benito Skinner's boyfriend is Terrence O'Connor, who works as a photographer and creative director. Some of O'Connor's recent posts include Skinner as they celebrated birthdays, holidays, and New Year's Eve — and the couple is also known for having (very elaborate) matching Halloween costumes.
In November 2021, Benito and Skinner revealed on Interview Magazine that they had been together since 2016.

For many years, Skinner was best known for his social media username, Benny Drama. Even as Overcompensating premieres, the actor and comedian's Instagram handle is still @bennydrama7.

Skinner was born in Boise, Idaho, and attended a Catholic high school, Bishop Kelly High School, where he played football. "I didn't go full method, but I definitely had a deeper voice,' he told The Guardian. 'Sometimes I'll watch my older videos and be like: 'Oh, that's not your voice, that's about 12 octaves too deep, babes.' I did it for so long."
He left his home state and went to college at Georgetown in Washington, DC. Moving away from home allowed him to come out in his senior year of college.

As a kid, Skinner would perform songs like "Oops!... I Did It Again" and "Stronger" by Britney Spears and "Survivor" by Destiny's Child for his family.
"When the 'Oops!... I Did It Again' video came out, I learned all the dance moves, including that middle interlude where she talks about the lady jumping in the ocean — I had that whole scene memorized," he told Paper. "I'd perform it for my whole family wearing a bucket hat and a vest — a whole look."
In college, after he came out, he started writing sketches. When he was closeted, he felt like expressing his love for performing might've outed him.
"I've always loved performing, acting, doing impressions, and entertaining people. But then I definitely started getting made fun for it, so I sort of hid it away. I just locked that shit up for most of my young life, which was really sad," he said to Paper, adding, "I knew I wanted to do something in film, but I was too scared to be in front of the camera, because I was like, "'The internet's gonna say I'm gay.'"

Eventually, Skinner started posting videos on social media like Instagram, where he would play original characters, like Jenni the TMI Hairdresser, and other times he would do celebrity impressions of people like Billie Eilish and Kim Kardashian.
His impressions and original characters caught a lot of attention on the internet, often going viral. He eventually built up an audience of 1.3 million Instagram followers, including celebrities like Dua Lipa and Madonna.

Skinner made his television acting debut in 2019 in the series Hitbox, followed by appearances in Search Party, the Queer as Folk reboot, Chelsea Peretti's movie First Time Female Director, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the film Idiotka.

Overcompensating is loosely based on Skinner's own experience as a college freshman. In it, he stars as Benny, who was a closeted football-playing homecoming king at his Idaho high school before moving away to go to college.
Now in his freshman year of college, he is trying to figure out who he wants to be, and if that includes coming out or staying closeted.
Overcompensating is a hilarious, unapologetically queer, unapologetically horny, and pleasantly heartwarming comedy starring Skinner, Wally Baram, Mary Beth Barone, Adam DiMarco, and Rish Shah. It also features recurring and guest stars like Connie Britton, Kyle MacLachlan, Charli XCX, Kaia Gerber, Megan Fox, and James Van Der Beek, to name a few.

Jake Paul, Mike Tyson bet big money on Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have come together to make a friendly (albeit expensive) wager on the highly anticipated Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano trilogy fight. Paul on Monday posted an Instagram video of a Facetime call in which he proposes a $1 million bet that Tyson, as he appears to be smoking a blunt, gladly accepts. Paul backs Serrano, while Tyson is Team Taylor. As it stands, the odds are in Paul's favor to win the bet – but not by much. According to DraftKings, Serrano is a -175 favorite, with Taylor listed +140. Tyson, however, has history on his side as Taylor has won their two previous fights. In 2022, Taylor edged Serrano by split decision. Then last November, the two put on an instant classic as the co-main event to Paul vs. Tyson, with Taylor winning a hard-fought unanimous decision amidst some headbutting controversy, which resulted in a nasty cut over Serrano's right eye. Taylor vs. Serrano 3 takes place Friday night from Madison Square Garden and will serve as the headliner to an all-women's boxing card that streams on Netflix boxing.

BACKGRID The professional dancer previously performed in 'Magic Mike Live' in London, bragging about the experience in a May Instagram post. The 'West Side Story' actress was previously linked to her 'Hunger Games' co-star Josh Andrés Rivera in 2021. The exes went public that same year and continued to keep a low profile. 11 Rachel Zegler and Nathan Louis-Fernand. BACKGRID Zegler did, however, give him a birthday shout-out on her Instagram Stories in May 2024, writing, 'I love him so very much.' She added, 'He is my very best friend. I am so lucky to be loved by him.' Zegler and Rivera, 30, quietly split 'late last year,' an insider told Us Weekly on Monday, July 7, after the photos with Louis-Fernand made the rounds. 11 Rachel Zegler and Nathan Louis-Fernand watch the concert. BACKGRID These days, along with a new romance, Zegler is focused on her career. The actress is portraying Argentine political leader Eva Perón – the second wife of Argentine president Juan Perón – in Jamie Lloyd's production of 'Evita.' ''Evita' has been such an important musical to me since I was a little girl, when my dad and I would sing 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina' together on my back patio,' Zegler told Deadline in March. 11 Nathan Louis-Fernand in 'Hamilton.' nathanlfernand/Instagram 'The opportunity to bring Jamie Lloyd's singular, visionary ideas to life onstage is an honor unlike any other,' continued Zegler. 'The stage has always felt like home to me, and I can't wait to make my West End debut in such great company.' Her latest role comes on the heels of a controversial year. Zegler received widespread backlash while promoting Disney's live-action film, 'Snow White.' The star, who played Snow White in the movie, went on a tirade against those who voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 election. 11 Nathan Louis-Fernand in 'Magic Mike' in London. nathanlfernand/Instagram Zegler wrote in a series of now-deleted Instagram Stories: 'May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.' She added, 'Another four years of hatred, leaning us towards a world I do not want to live in. Leaning us towards a world that will be hard to raise my daughter in.' In turn, many Trump supporters took to social media to reveal that they were boycotting the film. 11 Rachel Zegler as Maria in 'West Side Story.' AP 11 Rachel Zegler in 'Snow White.' John Rainford/INSTARimages The 'Hunger Games' vet also criticized the 1937 original animated 'Snow White,' calling David Hand's work 'extremely dated when it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power and what a woman is fit for in the world.' 'The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so,' Zegler told Extra in 2022. 'There's a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird. So we didn't do that this time,' she quipped. Zegler was then slammed as 'immature' by Disney producer Marc Platt's son, Jonah Platt, in an explosive rant after the film flopped at the box office.
