Paolo Sorrentino's La Grazia Will Open the 2025 Venice Film Festival
'I like to recall that one of the most important and internationally acclaimed Italian auteurs made his debut right here at the Biennale di Venezia in 2001 with his first film, One Man Up, in my early years as the artistic director.'
The director will thus return to the lagoon for the 82nd edition of the festival, which will take place from August 27 to September 6, 2025.
Perhaps best known for 2014's Oscar-winning The Great Beauty, Sorrentino quickly established himself in the world of cinema. The son of a banker and a homemaker, he premiered his debut film at Italy's most prestigious film festival and was selected for the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival with only his second feature, The Consequences of Love (2005).
For his latest project, titled La Grazia, Sorrentino reunites with actor Toni Servillo, a longtime collaborator. Servillo will star opposite Italian actress Anna Ferzetti. No synopsis has been revealed yet; all we know so far is that it will be a love story.

Heather Graham flaunts ageless figure in stunning bikini collection during Italian vacation
There is no one else who is soaking up the sun more these days than Heather Graham. The actress, who is on vacation in Sardinia, has delighted her 571K followers on Instagram by proudly displaying her collection of bikinis while beating the heat with pals. "Got to explore beautiful Sardinia with my friend @debrajfisher," the 55-year-old captioned the series of photos. "@janeseymour came along for part of our adventure. I admire her long career and her #joiedevivre. How the hell does she look so good? I'm asking for her secrets." "The sea is so beautiful and the food is so good," she shared. "I discovered #culurgiones…" The "Austin Powers" star modeled six different swimsuits during her beachy getaway. While she primarily opted for string bikinis in vibrant hues, Graham also sported curve-hugging one-pieces. In sizzling snapshots, Graham is seen enjoying the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean. She also spent time with friends and explored luxurious yachts. At one point, she was accompanied by Jane Seymour, who, like Graham, proudly flaunted her youthful figure in a baby blue and coral one-piece. In June, Graham and Seymour, 74, attended the Filming Italy 2025 red carpet at Forte Village Resort. Most recently, Graham spoke to Retreat Magazine about her approach to aging. "I think what matters most is how you feel inside," she told the outlet. "Decide that you're hot and enjoy your life. What other people think of you is none of your business. If you feel good about yourself, no one can take that away from you. Pursue the things that fill you with joy, and surround yourself with loving people." "I don't drink or do drugs, and I get a lot of sleep," Graham continued. "Eating healthy makes me feel good. I like cooking for myself and other people. And I love it when people cook for me. Basically, I like eating! Also, I do affirmations. I think they are very powerful. I work on strengthening my inner loving parent muscle, so I can be supportive and loving to myself. One of my affirmations is: 'This is the best time of my life.'" During an interview with People magazine in April, Graham admitted to being a happier person after she turned 55 in January. "I feel like as I get older, I just care less about things that don't matter," she told the outlet. "Everyone gets upset sometimes, but I think that I'm happier. I've done enough hard work on myself that I feel like I'm a happier person now." The "Boogie Nights" actress has been focused on wellness since she was 21. Graham works out, eats healthily, does yoga and meditates. Graham got her start in the entertainment industry when she left her parents' home at 18 and moved to West Hollywood, California, with a roommate. Graham graduated from high school with a 5.0 GPA and went on to study English at UCLA. After her junior year at the university, she decided to drop out to focus on her acting career. The actress is proud of the life she has created for herself. "I live in Los Angeles in a house I bought last year. I also have a loft in New York," she told The Wall Street Journal in 2024, noting that her West Coast home "has views of the Pacific." Most recently, Seymour spoke to Fox News Digital about how she's stayed in shape for decades without fad diets or marathon workout routines. "I almost always never have breakfast," the "Dr. Quinn" alum explained about her diet. "I will have liquids and my vitamins. I've got this vitamin combination that has collagen. I'll have that in the morning and either black tea, coffee, or water. And then at lunchtime, I'll have a fabulous meal, whatever I want pretty much. I tend to like salmon, shrimp and grilled vegetables. And I love Italian food. I might have a little eggplant Parmesan; it's a favorite of mine. Maybe some lean chicken." The star said that the one thing she "almost never" eats is steak, but she does make exceptions. "Once in a while, I'll have a little bit of filet steak, maybe a couple of slices. I'm not against it. But I feel better usually when eating fish and lots of vegetables. I grow a lot of my food in my garden, a lot of it in pots actually … it keeps the bugs out. I have lettuce, arugula, artichokes, avocados, blueberries and strawberries. Also, lots of different types of kale. I love eating fresh vegetables. When I grill my vegetables, I add a little bit of olive oil and sometimes a sprinkle of salt." The former Bond girl also noted that it's important for her to stay active daily. However, she listens to her body about what it needs each day. "I work with a lady … it's almost like physiotherapy, but it's a workout. I do Gyrotonics and some Pilates – a lot of floor work, believe it or not, even though I'm on a bench. But everything I do, anyone else can do at home, in a hotel room, their living room, their garden – anywhere where you can put a yoga mat down. I do Pilates legwork, which is like doing some of my ballet. I can use my own weight or a ballet bar." WATCH: JANE SEYMOUR SHARES HER TOP BEAUTY TIPS "… I'm very careful about doing the right technique," she said. "If I can't do too much, if I can't stretch too much that day, that's fine. I just do as much as my body is comfortable doing because I don't want to injure myself. I had back surgery a long time ago. That's a nemesis for me. So, I listen to my body."

Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sánchez Borrowed This Reception Detail From Kate Middleton's Wedding
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez already have a week of marriage under their belt, but people are still discussing the details of their three-day Venice, Italy extravaganza. It seems that they borrowed a particular detail from Kate Middleton's 2011 wedding to Prince William. The Prince and Princess of Wales' royal wedding over 14 years ago is still considered a timeless classic — from Kate's elegant dress from designer Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen to the couple's romantic balcony kiss. It's understandable why celebrities might try to borrow elements from the royals' big day, but Bezos and Sánchez went in a different direction and took a detail from Kate and William's reception. More from SheKnows While Mel B Walked Down the Aisle, Victoria Beckham Quietly Reminded Us Who's the Queen of Weddings Just like the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Amazon founder and his bride had British singer Ellie Goulding play at their reception on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, per People. Kate and William's first dance was to Goulding's cover of Elton John's hit single, 'Your Song,' and the 38-year-old singer made sure to sing it for Bezos and Sánchez too. The only difference is that the billionaire couple had Andrea Bocelli's son, Matteo Bocelli, sing his version of Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love' for their first dance. Goulding hasn't spoken publicly about the June 27 reception, but she did share her thoughts with the Daily Mail in 2012 about the royal wedding. 'Performing the first dance of the night, 'Your Song' was nerve-wracking,' she admitted. 'But William and Kate were very appreciative. They are an awesome couple and told me how much they enjoyed it. My band and I stayed at the reception all night, and it's something I'll treasure forever.' Still, Goulding revealed to Vogue Australia in 2016 that her nerves got the best of her. 'I mean, talking about scary… I was so nervous that my hands were shaking like this [she shakes her hands]. That was one of my memories, I remember looking down and just seeing this,' she recalled. 'Chris, my pianist, I looked over at him and he looks at me like, 'Literally, you have just sh—ed yourself. I know it in your face that you've just literally pooed yourself.'' Yet years later, it was still a true pinch-me moment for Goulding. 'I thought I was a decoy for someone else,' Goulding joked. 'I thought it could happen. Because at the time, Gaga was everywhere and rightly so, she was killing it. And Beyoncé and Jay-Z and then… me.' Ghost town brought back to life is now a thriving tourist magnet thanks to street murals
An abandoned ghost town in southern Italy has come back to life thanks to over 140 vibrant murals that have turned the area into a street art hotspot. The region's population had been shrinking as young people left for jobs and fewer babies were born there, news agency SWNS reported. Local artist Lino Lombardi, 57, grew frustrated as he saw his hometown crumble — and launched Stramurales, an annual street art festival, in 2017. "At first people thought I was crazy, but I couldn't just watch the town fade away," said Lombardi. "I started looking at the walls as blank canvases, which could be turned into something beautiful." The festival invited artists worldwide to paint murals, with six created at the first event in 2018. Today, more than 140 murals can be seen around Stornara, in the Puglia region, with inspiring themes represented each year, including agriculture, migration within Italy and local life. Residents vote on the topics each year. Tourism has surged 25% since 2020, SWNS said, sparking the opening of eight new businesses, including restaurants and B&Bs. The population has stopped shrinking and is slowly growing again as young families move back, according to locals. Café owner Antonio Maglione was about to close his business before the murals brought in crowds that made him learn to speak the word "welcome" in five different languages. "The murals saved my business, but more than that, they saved our community," Maglione said. Rita Gensano returned after spending 20 years away. She said initially, she felt like she'd walked into a ghost town. "The murals saved my business, but more than that, they saved our community." "It felt like a sacrifice," she said. "But it has become something extraordinary." Now a tour guide, she called Stornara "the coolest town in Italy." Retired olive farmer Salvatore Nappi said the murals helped residents regain their pride. "We had lost our pride, but the murals reminded us that our town and our stories are worth celebrating," SWNS reported. Lombardi founded a nonprofit that runs art workshops for high school students to keep the creative spirit alive. "Art doesn't just decorate our walls, it reminds us that even small places can dream big," Lombardi said. Other struggling towns have asked for help after Stornara's success, SWNS reported. "We never planned to be a case study, but if our experience can help other communities, that's even more meaningful," Lombardi said. The 2025 Stramurales festival is featuring artists from every continent for the first time.
