Metro7 hours ago

A Coronation Street character is declared dead in upcoming scenes – by her own son.
Ever since his arrival on the cobbles, Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) has caused nothing but trouble for his neighbours, and his mother, Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty).
Brody's behaviour got even more erratic after dad Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) was arrested for Craig Tinker's murder, and convinced Brody that he had been set up.
He instantly suspected Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) and took his anger out on him by trashing his flat.
The relationship between Kit and Brody has been a difficult one, and it only got worse in recent episodes when Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) revealed that Kit was Brody's biological father.
Brody was horrified to learn that she had taken his DNA to do a test, after learning that Kit had slept with Lou 16 years ago.
Lou was understandably furious that Brody had been told the truth, and Brody didn't exactly take the news well either. More Trending
In upcoming scenes, Bernie urges Brody to make amends with Lou, but he refuses, insisting she is dead to him.
With Brody currently living under Bernie's roof, she comes up with a plan to try and repair his relationship with his mum.
Dragging Lou round, Bernie implores Brody to hear her out.

ITV Coronation Street issues ‘be vigilant' warning to soap fans using social med

Coronation Street has issued warnings to fans in a social media statement. It has become known to people behind the scenes at the soap that fans are falling victim to another type of scam. Back at the start of this year, both Corrie and Emmerdale accounts shared on social media platform X that scammers were pretending to be stars from the shows. The statement said: 'Please be aware that actors from both Coronation Street and Emmerdale are currently being impersonated by scammers across all social media platforms. 'No cast member will ever directly request money for messages, meetings or any kind of personal interaction on social media. 'We are aware these sophisticated impersonations can include deep-fake footage (where it appears to be the actor talking but isn't) and personal messages which seem to be realistic and in character. We urge everybody to be vigilant. Please report any concerns to the relevant platform.' They concluded: 'The legitimate way of meeting with real members of the cast is via official 'meet and greet' events run by ITV Star Tours.' This time, audience members are being targeted by con artists pretending to be from the Coronation Street casting department – claiming to offer them a part in their favourite soap. Metro understands that fans of Emmerdale have been approached too. To warn people about the cruel trick, the Corrie X account once again shared a message online, this time saying: 'We are aware that there are some accounts impersonating the Casting department at Coronation Street on social media platforms. 'Our Casting team only uses official methods of communication, this does not involve direct messages on Twitter or any other social media. 'Please be careful when communicating online and report any concerns to the relevant platform.' This comes after Emmerdale favourite Lisa Riley told her fans not to believe AI bots pretending to be her online. The actress, 48, is best known for her role as Mandy Dingle, said on Instagram: 'Hello everybody, it's Lisa here. Now, I have to keep reiterating this, please, and please listen.' 'If something is not on my page – and my page is blue-ticked – then it is not real,' she stated, referencing the social media network's notable person verification system. 'It is AI pretending to be me, and there is nothing I can do about it. It's a hoax, it's a scam and it's a lie. 'So please, I'm begging you, don't click on it, don't believe it, don't read it, don't give it any attention. It's not true. More Trending 'I have to keep reiterating this because I am inundated with people saying that I'm attached to things that I'm not. So please, if it's not on my page, it's not real and I have not endorsed anything of that like.' She concluded: 'Listen to what I'm saying, and don't take it as the truth because it's not. From me to you, I'm so sorry that it's going on because it's not real and I have to keep telling you guys this. 'But just don't believe it. It's a hoax and a scam. It's not the truth, thank you for listening.' View More » This article was originally published on 17th June 2025. Strictly's Angela Scanlon details 'traumatic' time backstage as she admits 'I hated it'

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Angela Scanlon admits she found one dance particularly more challenging than the others, and "hated" doing it. The 41-year-old was partnered with professional dancer Carlos Gu in BBC's 2023 series, and together they made it through to week 10. Reflecting on her Samba routine to Jennifer Lopez's hit Ain't It Funny, Angela confessed: "It was a tragic week for me, it actually was one of my favourite dances in the end. "No actually I hated it, it was really traumatic, but I realised that loads of people have praised me on that dance and now I'm like, 'yeah I loved it too', like no I didn't, I f*****g hated it, but it was J Lo and it was like on the edge of a fountain, like a senorita, so it was full sexy." On the Late To The Party with Grace Campbell podcast, she continued: "It was [the] fear of being really like sexual, then Carlos would sit on the end of a chair and be like, 'So we're going to teach you how to be a sl***y lady', it was excruciating for me to like step into that." Recalling the intense emotions she faced leading up to the live show, Angela admitted she had to "mentally push through" and managed to do so by channelling her inner Jennifer. After taking to the dance floor to perform, the mother-of-two and Carlos were awarded 27 out of 40 points for their efforts. Angela received her highest score of 38 during Blackpool week, when she danced an Argentine Tango to Amy Winehouse's Back To Black. At the time, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke all reached for their 10 panels, while Craig Revel Horwood gave her an eight. However, just a week after this high point, the Irish beauty's journey ended when she performed a Cha Cha. This meant that she missed out on a spot in the quarter finals, after a dance-off with Layton Williams. The 2023 series was won by former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, followed by Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell last year. The BBC will soon start announcing the line-up of brave celebrities who are hoping to win the Glitterball trophy this year. Rumoured names so far include; Helen Flanagan, Tom Parker Bowles, Sir Mo Farrah, and Georgia Toffolo. What is confirmed so far is that the same four judges will be making a return to the panel, and the professional dancers making a comeback include; reigning champion Dianne, Karen Hauer, Johannes Radebe, Nikita Kuzmin and Katya Jones. Angela is one of the guests on this week's Saturday Kitchen with Matt Tebbutt, alongside her podcast co-star Vicky Pattison. Saturday Kitchen airs weekly from 10am on BBC One.
