Micah Parsons' viral Steelers trade comments resurface amid Cowboys contract drama
Micah Parsons sent shockwaves through the NFL with his trade request becoming official — but this wasn't the first time he's discussed leaving the Cowboys, as his viral Steelers trade comments have begun to resurface on social media. Back in February, Parsons sat down with former Steelers CB turned CBS Sports analyst Bryant McFadden in a one-on-one interview. McFadden asked Parsons if he rocked with the Steelers and claimed he could see the young defender wearing the Black and Gold — and in response, the Cowboys superstar dropped a bombshell. "Yeah, I do," Parsons said, confirming his interest in the Steelers. "I said, if I ever returned home, it was going to be Pittsburgh." Parsons, a Pennsylvania native, would surely be welcomed with open arms in Pittsburgh — but the path to making that dream a reality is nearly impossible, potentially requiring the Steelers to part ways with another high-profile edge rusher. Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger reveals Pat Freiermuth's reaction to Jonnu Smith trade
From Steelers fans to TE Connor Heyward, many were worried about how Jonnu Smith would fit into the already crowded tight end room — but according to the legendary Ben Roethlisberger, TE Pat Freiermuth doesn't share that mindset. On a recent episode of the Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger podcast, Big Ben revealed Freiermuth's initial reaction to Smith joining the Steelers' tight end room: "I did text Pat when it happened,' Roethlisberger said. 'He seemed to be really in high spirits. He was excited. He goes, 'I think the two of us can really do some cool things.' So, I think that'll be interesting to see how that transpires. And a young dude that you might be able to keep here for a while. I'm sure [Aaron Rodgers] is really excited about it." Smith is coming off a breakout 2024 season — recording 88 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns, resulting in the first Pro Bowl selection of his career. Fans can expect a heavy dose of two- and three-tight end sets in Pittsburgh this season — as the Steelers now have a three-headed monster with Smith, Freiermuth, and the massive third-year Darnell Washington. DK Metcalf off to fast start at Steelers training camp
The Pittsburgh Steelers took a huge calculated risk this offseason. One of the moves to completely rebuild the offense was trading for wide receiver DK Metcalf. The first thought was the Steelers passing game would be explosive with Metcalf and George Pickens together on the Steelers. Then the Steelers pulled the rug out from under us and traded Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. We assume this was always the goal and the Steelers never planned to go into the season with both guys on the roster. Now we are watching Metcalf get off to a fast start at Steelers training camp as the team's No. 1 wide receiver and Pickens is off to just as hot a start in Dallas. All season long, we will be keeping a close eye on Metcalf and Pickens to see which player puts together the better season. Pickens won't have to be the Cowboys No. 1 receiver and should have a solid chance to play well without dealing with the type of coverage his teammate CeeDee Lamb will face. Meanwhile, Metcalf is far and away the Steelers' top receiver and will be the focus of opposing defenses every week. Metcalf could see more targets but will that equate to more catches and more yards? Cast a vote in our poll on X and let us know who you think will end up with the better season?
