DSC aspirants thank CM Chandrababu and Lokesh
Speaking at a gratitude event organised in front of the Tirupati RDO office, Ravi Naidu stated that the alliance government's decision to release the DSC notification is a strong testament to its commitment to good governance. DSC aspirants and leaders of the Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) participated in the gathering and performed 'Ksheerabhishekam' (milk ritual) to portraits of Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh.
President of the Tirupati Parliament TNSF Kotte Hemanth Royal also spoke at the event, noting the widespread joy among aspirants across the state. He highlighted that the notification covers 16,347 posts and comes as a huge relief for candidates who have been waiting for the last six years. TNSF city president Venkatesh Yadav, state members RK Naidu, Vishnu, Ganesh, and several others participated in the programme.

AP charts green hydrogen future at summit
Vijayawada: India's push towards a sustainable energy future gained significant traction at the two-day Green Hydrogen Summit hosted by SRM-AP. The event, which concluded on Friday, brought together a distinguished assembly of policymakers, industry titans, and researchers, underscoring AP's unwavering commitment to sustainable energy development under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The second day of the summit on Saturday was marked by a series of engaging plenary sessions, an industry-academia conclave, and strategic discussions. Leaders from industry, science, academia, and policy engaged in robust dialogues covering technology innovations, infrastructural requirements, off-taker options, and critical funding and policy frameworks essential for India's green hydrogen journey. Key discussions highlighted the cost-effectiveness, broad industrial applications, and inherent sustainability of green hydrogen. A dedicated panel also delved into the promising scope of fuel cells. Dr R Vijay, director-ARCI, emphasised the potential of metallic bipolar plates and the urgent need for establishing electrolyser plants to facilitate large-scale hydrogen production. While the summit broadly championed the advantages of hydrogen production, it also served as a crucial forum for addressing the inherent challenges. Scientists and academicians presented the benefits, while industry leaders brought forth practical hurdles. Karthikeya A from APEDB notably pointed out the often-overlooked necessity of off-takers for the produced hydrogen, questioning whether sufficient market demand truly exists to consume the output. Discussions focused on cultivating a collaborative ecosystem. Dr Mallikarjun Bhavanari stressed the imperative for synergy between academia and industry, identifying infrastructure, material accessibility, and robust research and development (R&D) as pivotal factors in positioning India as a global hydrogen superpower. During the valedictory session, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Ch Satish Kumar offered a thought-provoking perspective. 'Let's not just celebrate green hydrogen progress; let's also talk about the difficulties in production, the health implications, and community-level engagement,' he urged. Prof D Narayana Rao, executive director-research, SRM Group of Institutions, said the summit was a success. He announced that under the directive of the Chief Minister, SRM-AP, in collaboration with NREDCAP, will host the Hydrogen Summit annually to review the progress made in Andhra Pradesh's green hydrogen journey.

New Delhi: Amid ongoing Hindi imposition row in Maharashtra and southern states, the Telugu-speaking states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have waded into the debate and sent out a message of inclusivity. Andhra Pradesh, under N Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, has struck an inclusive chord by assuring investors that it is offering a safe and investment-friendly environment. IT and electronics minister Nara Lokesh has given a call to the industry to "come, and build in Andhra Pradesh" irrespective of any language you speak. This comes close on the heels of Telangana government's 'Telangana Rising 2047' campaign poster which has a map of Hyderabad with 'welcome' written in at least 34 languages, including in Urdu, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, French, Hebrew, Spanish and Japanese. The poster reads, 'Hyderabad Welcomes Everyone'.

CM Naidu calls for plastic-free Andhra, links excessive use to cancer risk
Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday called for the elimination of plastic to protect the environment, claiming that "excessive use of plastic can lead to cancer". Addressing a meeting in Tirupati as part of the ' Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra ' initiative, Naidu said that plastic has become "the biggest demon" threatening the environment. The vision lays out a comprehensive framework for economic advancement, social equity, environmental sustainability , and governance excellence. "To protect the environment, we must chase away this plastic demon. Excessive use of plastic can lead to cancer... No one should fall victim to this," the chief minister said. From toothbrushes to the plates we eat from, he pointed out that plastic has become a part of daily life, adding that common items like water bottles, cups, and covers are harmful. He further claimed that " plastic pollution is contaminating the soil", hindering the percolation of rainwater, and causing other environmental issues. Naidu announced plans to make the state secretariat plastic-free by August 15, extend this initiative to all municipalities by October 2, and implement it across the state by December. Calling on every citizen to be part of the 'Swachh Andhra' mission by keeping their homes and surroundings clean, he also promised to clear all piled-up garbage across the state by October. The chief minister noted that the TDP-led NDA government had approved solar panel installations for 20 lakh homes, turning rooftops, offices, and fields into hubs of solar energy. "I'm focusing on green energy . With global warming triggering multiple challenges, green energy is the only solution," he said. Criticising YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, Naidu alleged that the latter "created chaos" during a recent visit to Bangarupalyam by "dumping mangoes" on the road while meeting farmers. Naidu said the NDA alliance government came to the rescue of mango farmers by ensuring a payment of Rs 12,000 per tonne-Rs 4,000 from the government and Rs 8,000 from buyers. Earlier, during a visit to an integrated waste processing plant at Tukivakam village in Tirupati, the chief minister directed officials to make Andhra Pradesh "a national model in waste processing and utilisation."
