PKNS Introduces Linkar 52 To Offer Affordable Urban Homes For Young Families
PKNS Group chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said this initiative is driven by the ongoing challenge of delivering affordable housing, especially in urban areas.
He said among the new mechanisms implemented by PKNS is the introduction of transit-oriented development (TOD) projects, targeting individuals or couples who prefer a minimalist lifestyle as the target market.
"In line with the state government's commitment to providing local communities with the opportunity to own homes at reasonable prices, PKNS is introducing Linkar 52, its first TOD project comprising two 33-storey towers with a total of 615 residential units.
"With built-up areas ranging from 450 to 850 square feet, these smaller units also have the potential to save on maintenance and utility costs, making them suitable for individuals and couples who prefer a minimalist lifestyle," he told a press conference after launching the Linkar 52 project at Galeria SA Sentral here today.
Mahmud said Linkar 52, developed as a key component of the SA Sentral project and equipped with 19 retail units and four lifts per tower, is offered at prices starting from RM351,000 per unit.
It is located in a strategic area that integrates all aspects of a modern commercial hub, targeting young families and single individuals, and is suitable as a future investment asset that promises good returns.
"We must bring value to this project, and one of the values we offer to customers is the design.
"In addition, Linkar 52 is located within one to two kilometres of a hospital, and is also close to a university, a lake, a mosque, and various eateries, all of which are key factors that appeal to buyers," he said.

Bintulu power capacity to reach 1GW by 2035 for industrial growth
BINTULU: Sarawak is set to develop two gas-fired power plants, each with a capacity of 500 megawatts, raising Bintulu's total power generation to one gigawatt by 2035. Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg stated that this initiative aims to meet both local energy demands and investor needs, particularly in Bintulu's expanding industrial and green technology sectors. 'The comprehensive development plan also includes the construction of an international school in Bintulu, to attract professional workers and foreign investors to reside and settle here,' he said during the opening of a hotel in Bintulu. Abang Johari highlighted Bintulu's transformation from a natural gas discovery hub into a thriving industrial centre, driven by investments in liquefied natural gas (LNG) and infrastructure like ports and hotels. He noted that this growth extends beyond Kidurong to Samalaju, positioning Bintulu as a key economic zone. To further enhance connectivity, a hydrogen-powered autonomous rail transit (ART) system will be introduced under the 13th Malaysia Plan, linking Bintulu, Kidurong, and Samalaju. 'Bintulu will be the second city after Kuching to adopt the ART system, improving accessibility and sustainable development,' he added. Abang Johari also emphasised Bintulu's global recognition as one of 36 low-carbon industrial clusters, reinforcing its status as a strategic investment destination. – Bernama

PM Anwar's welfare initiatives boost public support for Madani govt
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's latest welfare measures underscore the Madani government's commitment to easing living costs and supporting economic recovery, said Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Seri R. Ramanan. The initiatives include a one-off RM100 cash aid for Malaysians aged 18 and above under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme, maintained RON95 petrol subsidies at RM1.99 per litre, and deferred toll rate hikes for 10 major highways. Ramanan noted the RM100 assistance, with a RM2 billion allocation, will be distributed digitally without complex eligibility checks. He added that declaring Sept 15 as an additional public holiday aims to boost domestic tourism, particularly benefiting rural economies reliant on visitor spending. The expanded Rahmah Sales Programme, backed by RM600 million, will now cover 600 state constituencies to improve access to affordable essentials. Ramanan, who is Sungai Buloh MP, emphasised the government's data-driven approach in balancing public needs with fiscal responsibility. 'Policy decisions are shaped by transparency and focused on meeting rakyat's needs,' he said. He urged public backing for Madani policies promoting unity and inclusivity amid global economic pressures. – Bernama
