
Ahmedabad airport gets bomb threat email. Here's what we know
The local police rushed to the spot and scanned the entire airport premises with the help of cyber crime branch and other security agencies, PTI quoted Assistant Commissioner of Police, 'G' Division, VN Yadav as saying.
"The threat turned out to be a hoax as nothing suspicious was found. The Airport police as well as cyber crime are conducting further investigation," he informed.
Also, an airport spokesperson said the threat was 'non-specific' and nothing suspicious was found after the search.
A Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad spokesperson said, as quoted by ANI, "Following the receipt of a threatening email on 22 July 2025, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, activated the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee, and the threat was assessed as non-specific."
"CISF's Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad conducted comprehensive checks in line with standard security protocols. After a thorough sweep of the premises, no suspicious object or activity was found. Airport operations have continued without disruption," the spokesperson added.
As per the details, in the past six months, hoax bomb threats were received by the Gujarat High Court, the Ahmedabad airport and over 20 private schools across the state.
A report by PTI stated that the threat was sent via an email at around 7:30 am and claimed that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was placed inside a cigarette packet. It also claimed that the bomb could detonate at any time.
However, no suspicious object has been found as of yet.

A 31-year-old Class-2 Maharashtra government officer has filed a police complaint accusing her husband of secretly filming her private moments by installing spy cameras in their bedroom and bathroom, news agency PTI reported. The woman, who works in a state department, also alleged she was physically and mentally harassed over a dowry demand. According to the complaint, her husband also a government employee pressured her to bring Rs 1.5 lakh from her parental home to pay car loan instalments. 'When she refused to bring the money, she was beaten up,' an officer from Ambegaon police station, told PTI. The woman further alleged that her husband threatened to leak the videos online if she did not meet his demands. She claimed that her in-laws were also involved in harassing her. Based on her complaint, police have booked her husband, mother-in-law, three sisters-in-law and two of their husbands under Sections 85 (cruelty by husband or relatives), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. 'The woman was subjected to repeated harassment,' the officer said, adding that an investigation is underway.

11 injured in bus-truck collision in West Bengal
Agency: PTI Last Updated: Kolkata, Jul 23 (PTI) At least 11 people were critically injured after a government-run bus with passengers on board collided head-on with a truck on National Highway 117 in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district on Wednesday morning, police said. The accident occurred near Kakdwip when the collision took place between the Kolkata-bound bus and the commercial vehcile, a senior officer said. 'Eleven people were injured in the accident. They were taken to the Kakdwip Superspeciality Hospital for treatment," he said. The condition of the truck driver was very critical and shifted to the Diamond Harbour Medical College and Hospital, the officer said. An investigation into the accident is underway, he added. Rs 17.4 lakh gutka seized from tempo in Navi Mumbai; 1 held
Agency: PTI Last Updated: Thane, Jul 23 (PTI) Police have confiscated the banned gutka valued at Rs 17.4 lakh from a tempo and arrested one person in this connection in Navi Mumbai, an official said on Wednesday. The tempo was intercepted on Mumbai-Pune road on Monday evening. Upon checking, the police recovered gutka of various brands from the vehicle, the official from Kamote police station said. A 23-year-old man, resident of Kandivli in neighbouring Mumbai, was arrested in this connection on Tuesday, he said. A case has been registered against the accused under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
