Italian luxury clothing house Paul & Shark is proud to announce the appointment of KL Rahul, one of India's most distinguished cricketers, as its first-ever global brand ambassador from India. This landmark collaboration marks a significant step for the brand, reinforcing its long-standing connection with India and underlining the country's growing influence in global fashion and lifestyle markets. The announcement, made in partnership with RBL, also celebrates Paul & Shark's 15th anniversary in India, where the brand has established a strong presence across key metropolitan cities.
KL Rahul now joins Paul & Shark's esteemed league of international sporting ambassadors. Known for his poise, modern outlook, and global appeal, Rahul perfectly encapsulates the brand's spirit of luxury, adventure, and contemporary style. With a heritage rooted in the sea and a vision anchored in innovation, Paul & Shark continues to craft elegant, performance-driven apparel designed for every occasion. As a family-run business, it remains committed to sustainability, authenticity, and evolving with purpose.
The debut campaign featuring KL Rahul was shot in the heart of Dubai — a city known for its vibrancy, luxury, and modern energy, making it the ideal backdrop for this new chapter. Water, a central motif in Paul & Shark's storytelling, flows throughout the campaign's visual language, reinforcing the brand's enduring connection with the outdoors.
The campaign went live on May 2, 2025, across Paul & Shark's global channels and KL Rahul's official Instagram, with a spotlight on India — a pivotal market in the brand's international portfolio. In the UAE and Kuwait, Paul & Shark operates through its franchise partner, Jashanmal Group.
Andrea Dini, CEO of Paul & Shark, remarked: "Paul & Shark has always stood for authenticity, adventure, and luxury. KL Rahul's journey as an athlete, his international appeal, and his distinct sense of style makes him a natural extension of our brand's values. This partnership is not just about fashion, it's about celebrating a way of life that merges sport, travel, and contemporary elegance."
KL Rahul added: "Paul & Shark just gets my style. The brand is effortless, sharp, and never trying too hard. It stands for quality and quiet confidence, which is exactly how I see fashion too. Being the first Indian to represent them globally makes it even more special, it feels like the kind of partnership that just fits."

UAE approves robo-advisory services for licensed portfolio management firms

The UAE's Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) on Tuesday allowed licensed portfolio management firms to offer robo-advisory services, marking a strategic step toward establishing a secure digital investment environment in the country. The regulator said it approved the regulation of the robo-advisor service, allowing firms to provide services through digital platforms that utilise artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and advanced algorithms to deliver automated investment recommendations. To ensure investor protection, the SCA's regulatory framework sets mandatory independent IT audits, rigorous cybersecurity standards, regular reviews of algorithms and systems, and full disclosure of the service's costs and risks. Portfolio management services are typically provided by large banks and financial firms to their high-net-worth clients and private companies, enabling them to grow their wealth and achieve their financial goals. These firms provide tailored investment strategies, asset allocation and ongoing management of investment portfolios. According to Boston Consulting Group's Global Wealth Report 2024, the UAE's net wealth reached $2.9 trillion in 2023 as financial wealth grew by 10 per cent from 2022 to 2023. These services uphold high standards of governance, transparency, and investor protection within the approved portfolio management frameworks, whether discretionary or non-discretionary and in accordance with client agreements. Waleed Saeed Al Awadhi, CEO of the SCA, said this project reinforces the UAE's position as a world-class financial centre by advancing continuous innovation and implementing dynamic regulatory frameworks designed to address future market challenges. 'The integration of artificial intelligence into investment decision-making is not merely a technological development, it is a transformative turning point that enhances portfolio management efficiency and unlocks unprecedented opportunities to empower investors with smart, sustainable, and secure financial solutions,' said Al Awadhi. The robo-advisor services will advance the competitiveness of the UAE's financial markets, accelerate digital adoption, and contribute to the UAE's 'We the UAE 2031' vision of building a knowledge-based, competitive, and sustainable economy. The Securities and Commodities Authority said robo-advisory services are part of its initiative to advance financial inclusion by broadening access to intelligent and secure investment solutions.

Dubai-based Autoworld invests in Jafza facility to drive regional growth

Dubai: Autoworld International FZCO, the regional distributor for India's Bajaj Auto, plans to establish a new logistics and distribution hub in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), with total investments of AED 45 million. The 162,000-square-foot hub will boost Autoworld's regional operations and meet rising demand for Bajaj's two- and three-wheelers across the MEA region, according to a press disclosure. Set for completion by 2026, the hub will feature an assembly plant for Bajaj motorcycles and three-wheelers, along with storage and distribution units for spare parts, tyres, and lubricants. It is also expected to back new product launches through partnerships with global manufacturers. It is worth highlighting that the global two- and three-wheeler market is growing rapidly, with Africa's segment alone projected to expand by nearly 5% annually due to increasing demand for affordable, fuel-efficient mobility. Commenting on the move, Abdulla Al Hashmi, Chief Operating Officer of Parks and Zones at DP World GCC, stated: 'Autoworld's expansion underscores the strength of Jafza's integrated trade and logistics ecosystem, which now connects 940 automotive companies from 88 countries.' He continued: 'Last year alone, Jafza supported automotive trade valued at nearly AED 102 billion. We are proud to support long-term partners like Autoworld, who are helping connect world-class manufacturing with high-potential markets through Dubai.' The project is expected to secure over 100 direct and indirect jobs, further anchoring Dubai's growing mobility and logistics ecosystem. Autoworld has operated from Jafza for more than 16 years, distributing Bajaj vehicles to over 25 countries. The investment supports DP World's strategy to boost regional auto trade and develop the world's largest car market in Dubai, aiming to double the current annual sales figure of AED 6.80 billion.

DLD opens registeration for real estate broker programme

Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced that it has opened registeration for Emiratis keen to join the 'Dubai Real Estate Broker Programme' via its official website. This comes following the strong interest to the programme since its launch, which has already drawn a significant number of citizens keen to enter the real estate brokerage sector. The total value of real estate deals completed through qualified brokers since the programme's launch has reached AED500 million ($136 million), said DLD in a statement. This programme serves as a comprehensive platform for developing national talent and preparing a new generation of qualified Emirati brokers in line with the highest professional standards. It contributes to reinforcing Dubai's position as a leading global destination for real estate investment and supports the sector's sustainability and dynamism, it stated. The programme also aims to increase the percentage of Emiratis working in real estate brokerage to 15% over the next three years, reflecting the Dubai Government's commitment to engaging national talent in high-value economic sectors, it added. DLD said the initiative continues reinforcing its role as a strategic platform for increasing national talent participation in this key industry. To date, the programme has surpassed expectations, with the number of qualified Emirati brokers reaching more than 180% of the annual target. It has also delivered numerous specialised training courses in collaboration with accredited academic institutions, it stated. Upon completion of the required training, participants are issued an official real estate broker card valid for three years, allowing them to practice the profession in accordance with Dubai's legal and regulatory framework. DLD pointed out that the Dubai Real Estate Broker Programme was one of the key pillars aligned with the Dubai Social Agenda 2033 objectives. The programme aims to empower Emirati citizens to benefit from the economic opportunities available in the real estate sector by providing specialised professional training, issuing the 'National Broker' licence, allocating a percentage of real estate projects to programme participants, and enhancing their employment opportunities within active brokerage firms across Dubai. -TradeArabia News Service Copyright 2024 Al Hilal Publishing and Marketing Group Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
