He's already bought a villa – Napoli president on potential Kevin De Bruyne move
De Bruyne is out of contract and leaving Manchester City this summer after a decade at the Etihad Stadium in which he has won six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
The 33-year-old Belgium playmaker has also been linked with a move to the United States but De Laurentiis appears confident of securing his services for Napoli.
De Laurentiis was asked about the possibility as the club held an open-top bus parade to celebrate their second title success in three years.
He told RAI: 'Will he get to lift this cup too? Probably yes. I know that he's sorted a few things already and I believe he's already bought a beautiful villa.
'This morning I was on a video call with him, his wife and his nine-year-old son and it was a beautiful sight.'
But asked if this could be considered official confirmation of a move, De Laurentiis added: 'Not yet. Until it's in black and white, there will be no confirmation.'
De Bruyne made his 421st and, in all likelihood, final appearance for City as a late substitute in their last Premier League game of the season at Fulham on Sunday.
De Bruyne could still be eligible to represent City at this summer's Club World Cup but he is not expected to be involved in the tournament in the United States.

It's a joke – Enzo Maresca unhappy at long delay in Chelsea-Benfica tie
Enzo Maresca labelled the decision to suspend Chelsea's Club World Cup last-16 tie with Benfica for two hours 'a joke' even as his side eventually ran out 4-1 winners. The tie took almost five hours to complete after the teams were forced inside, with the Blues 1-0 up with four minutes remaining thanks to Reece James' free-kick, due to 'the risk of lightning in the vicinity of Bank of America Stadium'. On the resumption, Angel Di Maria equalised with a controversial stoppage-time penalty to take the game to extra time, only for Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to seal Chelsea's win. Game started Saturday and ended Sunday 🤣 — Trevoh Chalobah (@TrevohChalobah) June 29, 2025 Maresca, in his press conference, said of the long delay: 'I think it's a joke, to be honest. 'It's not football, it's completely something new, I struggle to understand. 'I can understand if it's security reasons but if you suspend seven or eight games then it's probably not the right place to do the competition. 'It's not normal to suspend the game. In a World Cup, how many games are suspended? Zero probably. In Europe how many games get suspended? Zero. 'We've been here two weeks and they've already suspended six or seven games, there is some problems for me personally. Meanwhile, in the dressing room. — Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) June 28, 2025 'I'm talking as a manager because when you're two hours inside and you have to try to keep them (the players) in the game, they're speaking to their families outside for safety reasons, they're eating, they're playing, they're laughing, how can you keep them inside focused for two hours? It's a joke.' One of Maresca's players at least was able to make light of the delay, which saw the game finish at 1.40am UK time, with defender Trevoh Chalobah posting on social media: 'Game started Saturday and ended Sunday'. Players were pictured riding exercise bikes and kicking balls in the dressing room during the enforced break and Maresca told broadcaster DAZN: 'Especially when it's 85 minutes, five minutes to go, it's very difficult. 🚲⏳ — Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) June 28, 2025 'But we tried to keep them in the best way we could in that moment and, at the end, we are in the last eight teams here in this competition and we are very happy.' Gianluca Prestianni saw red for Bruno Lage's men in extra time for a second yellow card as Chelsea booked their place against Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.

Benfica boss singles out 'very strong' Chelsea star after Club World Cup defeat
Benfica head coach Bruno Lage singled out Pedro Neto for special praise following the side's Club World Cup defeat to Chelsea, pointing to the winger's constant threat in 'one-on-one' duels. The Blues appeared to be cruising towards the quarter-finals as Reece James fired a superb free-kick beyond Anatoliy Trubin to break the deadlock in the 64th minute, before play was suspended due to nearby lightning. But Angel Di Maria held his nerve from the penalty spot to turn the last-16 tie on its head deep into stoppage time, just moments after Benfica forward Gianluca Prestianni was sent off for a second bookable offence. Chelsea came out fighting in extra time at North Carolina's Bank of America Stadium, though, with Christopher Nkunku, Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all finding the net to secure a 4-1 victory. Enzo Maresca's men will return to Philadelphia to take on Brazilian outfit Palmeiras for a place in the semi-finals next weekend. 'When you look at the whole game, a lot of things happened and it's hard to accept,' Benfica manager Lage told reporters at his post-match press conference. 'When we work at Benfica, we have to come to these competitions with great ambition. That's why our first goal was to get through the first round. 'After that, anything can happen and it was 50-50. We had a good chance of getting through.' Lage once again applauded Neto having named the Portugal international as one of Chelsea's key weapons in the build-up to Saturday's round of 16 contest. 'We have to understand that we are playing against a good team, in which Pedro Neto was very strong one-on-one,' he added. 'We played our game. Maybe in the first half we could have done better in terms of attack, but after that, over time, the team grew and the players on the field gave us a different energy.' Lage praised his players for the way they coped in 'difficult' conditions against the Europa Conference League winners. 'We had belief that we could take the game to extra-time but then, with everything that happened to us, and with the sending off, it was very difficult to play against a great team,' he continued. 'It was difficult to play in these conditions. More than 30 minutes with ten men, it was very difficult. 'But even still, I think we were the better team in the first 15 minutes of extra time. 'We had at least four good chances, four good transitions in which we could have scored a goal. But after 2-1, the game was over.' Facing the media shortly after the final whistle, an irate Maresca blasted the 'joke' decision to delay the action with his side defending a narrow lead in the closing stages of normal time. 'For 85 minutes we were in control of the game. We didn't concede anything; we created chances enough to win the game. And then after the break the game changed completely,' Maresca said. But if you suspend six, seven games that means that probably is not the right place to do this competition.' The Italian went on: 'This is a fantastic competition. The Club World Cup is top and we are happy to be in the last eight. 'It's not normal to suspend a game. In a World Cup, how many games are suspended? Probably zero. In Europe, how many games? Zero.' Man Utd open to Andre Onana loan exit as Ruben Amorim identifies new No.1
Andre Onana has endured a tricky couple of seasons at Manchester United at Old Trafford and it appears that Ruben Amorim has finally decided what to do with him ahead of next term Manchester United are reportedly willing to sanction a loan move for Andre Onana after stumbling into a real issue regarding his future. The Cameroonian international has endured a tricky couple of seasons since his arrival from Inter Milan. High-profile errors have blighted his performances and put his position as number one in jeopardy. United are open to letting him leave and would apparently prefer a permanent sale. But Onana's high wages have made an exit this summer tricky and Red Devils chiefs are now having to get creative to move him on. According to The Sun, United are open to letting Onana leave on loan. Monaco - who have recently signed ex-United midfielder Paul Pogba - have been linked with a move but have struggled to get a deal over the line. It is said that United are now awaiting approaches and would prefer to send the 29-year-old to Europe as opposed to a Premier League rival. Speaking earlier this month, Onana appeared to hint that he was also open to an exit. He said: "Will I leave? I don't know, we'll see!" While Onana's future remains up in the air, United have already launched their search for a new number one. Aston Villa 's Emi Martinez remains their number one target but a deal for the 2022 World Cup winner is expected to be expensive. Other options include Botafogo's John Victor, Porto star Diogo Costa and Cruz Azul number one Kevin Mier. Former United stopper Ben Foster believes that Martinez would be the outstanding candidate should Onana be moved on. He said: 'It's a brutal league, the Premier League, and I kind of think [over] the last two seasons that he [Onana] hasn't done enough to prove that he is a Manchester United number one. 'I think he's got ability, and like so many other Man United players, he'd go elsewhere and probably flourish. I think that's probably going to be the case with him as well. If the opportunity does come to sign somebody like Emi Martinez, they've got to go for it. He's still one of the best goalkeepers in the world. 'A lot of people said this season, probably not up to the standard of the previous two years, but still one of the best goalkeepers in the world. 'You've got to have a strong spine in any football team. If you get the goalie right, you get a couple of strikers in, Bruno's going to be staying now. It's a great start to the transfer window for them.' Join our new MAN UTD WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Manchester United content from Mirror Football.
