MSU hockey commit Brady Peddle selected by Pittsburgh Penguins in 3rd round of NHL Draft
Michigan State hockey commit Brady Peddle has been selected in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft.
Peddle was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins with the No. 91 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday. Peddle was one of many current and future Michigan State players selected in this year's NHL Draft.
Peddle committed to Michigan State in April of 2024, and is still a year away from joining the Spartans per a story from the Lansing State Journal. That, of course, could change with the pick by the Penguins and since Peddle initially committed to Michigan State.
Peddle played with Waterloo of the USHL this past season. He is a defenseman and is listed at 6-foot-4.

What are Texas A&M's 'most important' games ahead of the 2025 season?
Texas A&M's 2025 college football schedule is nationally regarded as one of the toughest in the SEC, primarily due to road trips against LSU, Missouri, and Texas to conclude the regular season. While this narrative holds up, coach Mike Elko's roster is more than talented and experienced enough to weather the storm. This weekend, That SEC Podcast continued its offseason preview of all 16 conference teams, focusing this time on Texas A&M's three "must-win" matchups. The first is the road game against Texas, followed by home games against Florida and Auburn. For Texas A&M to make it to the expanded College Football Playoff for the first time in program history, winning two out of three against Texas, Florida, and Auburn is mandatory; a nine or ten-win total will likely be enough to earn a bid. The Texas Longhorns will be led by sophomore QB Arch Manning and defensive standouts, linebacker Anthony Hill and defensive end Collin Simmons, paired with an elite secondary. Meanwhile, Florida QB DJ Lagway and Auburn wide receivers Cam Coleman and Erik Singelton Jr. will pose problems for every defense they face. TexAgs co-owner Billy Liucci provided an interesting take, noting that, while all three games are crucial to making the postseason, A&M's Week 3 road trip against Notre Dame should also be included. "I'll go with 2-1. But my three would be ND, Auburn, Florida. Win those and I think the Ags would be 9-3 or better." Liucci's logic is based on scheduling, as early success and wins against Auburn and Florida, paired with at least seven other wins, would likely secure a playoff berth. 2027 4-star OL remains highly impressed with Texas A&M after recent visit

The 2027 recruiting class isn't the sole focus for Texas A&M this summer, but making headway with priority prospects in the cycle is crucial to developing strong relationships heading into next summer, when the cycle reaches its peak importance. So far, coach Mike Elko and his staff have done just that, recently hosting several elite 2027 prospects, including borderline five-star offensive tackle Ismael Camara. During this week's Next Future 50 event, Camara, similar to 2027 five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, Camara's recent visit to Texas A&M during the program's annual OL/DL camp resulted in building bonds with several of the Aggies' coaches, especially offensive line coach Adam Cushing. Cushing's success on the recruiting trail has been praised nationally after landing three of the top offensive tackles in the 2026 class over the last two weeks, so it's no surprise that he's already made headway with Camara, who had plenty of good things to say during his recent interview with GigEm247's Andrew Hattersley. "I got to talk with Coach Cushing," Camara stated. "That was amazing. I learned a lot of stuff. I'm looking forward to being back here maybe once or twice this summer. I love it." Last week, during the Next Future 50 media availability, Camara continued to praise Texas A&M, noting that the Aggies have made a significant impact on his recruitment, as Cushing's coaching tactics and the program's O-line recruiting success in the 2025 and 2026 classes have certainly played a part. According to 247Sports, Camara is currently positioned as the 95th-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 10th-ranked offensive tackle, and the 15th-ranked prospect in Texas. How Wisconsin basketball center Steven Crowl can earn a roster spot with the Utah Jazz
Former Wisconsin center Steven Crowl will look to make the most of his Exhibit 10 contract with the Utah Jazz this summer. Despite not hearing his named called either Thursday or Friday evening during the 2025 NBA Draft, Crowl is poised to represent an NBA squad during its quest for a summer league title. The Jazz kick-start their summer slate with a three-day circuit at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah from July 5-7 before making the trek to Las Vegas the following week. The one-year, non-guaranteed minimum salary deal enables NBA teams to sign undrafted playmakers to their summer league squads for an opportunity to land on the franchise's G League affiliate -- a low-risk, high-reward move. If Crowl plays extremely well, he could muscle his way into a two-way deal with the team before the 2025-26 season. Prior to the draft, Crowl did work out with the Golden State Warriors, New Orleans Pelicans, Charlotte Hornets and Denver Nuggets. Utah's summer league slate will essentially serve as another extended workout against another batch of NBA hopefuls. Utah will play three games in Salt Lake City from July 5-7 against the Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Jazz will then tip off against the New Orleans Hornets (July 11), Golden State Warriors (July 13), San Antonio Spurs (July 14) and Washington Wizards (July 16) in Las Vegas. To claim one of 15 regular season roster spots or one of three two-way contract opportunities, Crowl will need to showcase his ability to stretch the floor as a 3-point shooter, particularly from the top of the key. As a senior, the Minnesota native averaged 9.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 54% from the field, a blistering 41% from 3 and 82% from the free-throw line. In today's NBA, that type of efficiency plays. 2024 NBA G League Rookie of the Year Oscar Tshiebwe and former Duke standout Kyle Filipowski are listed ahead on the Jazz's depth chart, so if Crowl hopes to scale the three-man hierarchy, his ability to knock down open shots from outside will be paramount. One other important factor: rebounding. The 7-footer averaged just under six rebounds per contest across 153 games during his tenure in Madison, although he never attained the role of an enforcer. In fact, following a zero-rebound outing against Illinois as a senior, his former head coach Greg Gard publicly commented on Crowl's lack of aggressiveness down low. A no-show for Crowl in the painted area cannot happen in either Salt Lake City or Las Vegas. If he corrals three or four rebounds per appearance, plays stout interior defense and disrupts passing lanes near the basket, coaches, scouts and executives may favor his inclusion as a two-way player. That journey commences on July 5 at 9:00 p.m. EST against the 76ers in Utah.
