Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 release date – and you can play it right now

Daily Mirror2 days ago
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to release soon, and the game is currently available to play in early access for players who have preordered its Digital Deluxe Edition
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is nearly here to serve up some serious gnar, and if you've preordered its Digital Deluxe Edition, you can dive in right now.
Call us Bernadette Nere, because we're all set to shred. Tony Hawk's game collection might not have always hit the mark as Neversoft intended, but the nostalgia tied to the series remains a tangible mix of teenage angst, punk rock anthems, and rebellious attitude that players find hard to let go of. This was never more evident than with the release of Tony Hawk 's Pro Skater 1 + 2, the bundle of revamped classic skaters that satisfied players' longing for the good old days of causing mischief in their hometown and kickflipping gaps everywhere.

The series is arguably the most addictive in the sports gaming arena, and it's just as accessible, as everyone has at least a bit of fondness for tearing it up with their mates. Now, the series is back for more, complete with some bonus content for good measure. The Doom Slayer and Revenant from the Doom franchise feature in the Digital Deluxe edition of the game, while collaborations with SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are also slated to add some extra fun to the game, even if you've devoted your life to mastering every corner of these games.

The upcoming game is set to be a thrilling experience, particularly for Xbox Game Pass users (who were recently reminded of the skateboarding game's imminent arrival alongside Minami Lane in the first July Xbox Game Pass update). It's hoped this will pave the way for more skateboarding fun ahead of the eagerly anticipated live-service reboot of the Skate series. It's also an exciting time for Nintendo Switch 2 players, with the game making a splash on the console and potentially tipping the scales in the Nintendo Switch 2 vs Steam Deck debate.
However, we'll have to wait until the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 release date to truly see what the game has to offer. So when can we start pulling off tricks until dawn? Here's what you need to know.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 release date
The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 release date is Thursday, July 10 at 9pm PDT, and Friday, July 11 at 12am EDT / 5am BST. The release date of Friday, July 11 has been long confirmed by the game's developers, and the release time is an estimate based on the launch time of the game's early access period, which kicked off at this exact time on Tuesday, July 8.
The game is currently available in early access for players who have preordered its Digital Deluxe Edition, so if you're eager to dive in, you can do so immediately. It's a positive development for those with a fondness for nostalgia, and even more so for the realm of skating games. If you were born to cause a stir, now is your moment.

Nintendo is getting rid of another way to save money on Switch games

Just as fans feared, Nintendo has announced plans to discontinue Switch Game Vouchers, although it's not quite as bad as it sounds. The launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 doesn't mean Nintendo has immediately given up on the original Switch console, as evidenced by plans to keep releasing games for it into 2026. That said, there have been signs that it's gradually becoming less of a priority. Obviously, the Switch 2's the only place you can play new exclusives like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, as well as retro GameCube games. Ahead of the Switch 2's launch, Nintendo also updated its Switch Game Vouchers to ensure they couldn't be spent on Switch 2 games and now the company plans to get rid of them altogether. As a reminder, Switch Game Vouchers are an exclusive offer for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers and essentially let you purchase any two games from this list at a slight discount of £84. These have been available since May 2019, but Nintendo has announced plans to discontinue the vouchers starting from the end of January 30, 2026. This doesn't mean any you have left will immediately become useless. Vouchers typically don't expire for a year after purchase and that will remain the case even after they're removed from sale. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. So, even if you buy a pair of vouchers on January 30, 2026, you'll still have until January 30, 2027 to use them. After January 30th, 2026, #NintendoSwitch Game Vouchers will no longer be sold. Any Game Vouchers bought will remain valid for 12 months after purchase. Switch titles will continue to be added to the Game Voucher catalogue throughout info: — Nintendo UK (@NintendoUK) July 10, 2025 Surprisingly, in its website update announcing all this, Nintendo says that it still intends to add more games to the list of examples you can purchase with game vouchers. Presumably, this will only last for another year and a half, since by the end of January 2027 any remaining vouchers will have expired and thus the scheme will be well and truly dead. This all comes after Nintendo also put an end to its Gold Points reward scheme in March, which served as another means of saving money on new Switch game purchases. More Trending At the time, it was theorised that this was a sign that Nintendo would establish a new rewards scheme for the Switch 2 era, which feels more likely now that the vouchers are on their way out as well. Nintendo hasn't officially acknowledged this though. In fact, much like the Gold Points, it hasn't given any explanation for why it's discontinuing the vouchers. This could all simply be part of Nintendo's strategy to encourage Switch 1 owners into upgrading to the Switch 2, but Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser has previously acknowledged that some people simply can't afford to make the jump. 'That's why we wanted to make the other Switch platforms available, so [people] still have an opportunity to come into our gaming universe, be a part of these characters in these worlds, and see value, if you will, in whatever rung of the platform they come in,' he said. Nintendo Switch 2 charity auction for 'Staplegate' stapler is already at £80,000

The infamous stapler that ruined a host of day one Nintendo Switch 2 consoles is being sold off for charity on eBay. Aside from the expected stock shortages, the Nintendo Switch 2 launched without a hitch here in the UK. However, you might have heard that things weren't so smooth in the US, at least for those who had bought their console from GameStop during a midnight launch event in Staten Island, New York. Word quickly spread of customers finding their new Switch 2s damaged, straight out of the box. It wasn't Nintendo's fault though, as employees had stapled receipts to the box and because of how the Switch 2 is positioned inside, the staples had pierced all the way through to damage the screen. GameStop offered replacements for any Switch 2 damaged in this way but now, over a month later, it's turned what it calls the Staplegate incident into a marketing stunt by auctioning off the offending stapler. This eBay listing includes the stapler, the first Switch 2 console to have been damaged (which is now repaired and presumably still comes with a download code for Mario Kart World), the box it came in (which still has the puncture marks), and even the specific staple used, now preserved in a small display pouch. The items are described as 'authentic relics from the now infamous Staplegate incident,' with the stapler itself said to have been used 'in a moment of launch night excitement and misjudged enthusiasm.' At the time, it was claimed on Reddit that the reason receipts were being stapled to the Switch 2 boxes in the first place was because the store's air conditioner was broken, which left the store too humid for sticky tape to stay in place. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. It's all worked out for the best though, as the auction is being used to raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. More Trending The auction is scheduled to last until the afternoon of Wednesday, July 16 – less than a week from now – and it's already attracted 181 bids at the time of writing. GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen also said on X he'd throw in his own underwear should the bids reach the six-figure mark and with the highest offer currently standing at $108,895 (£80,000), people will no doubt try to hold him accountable even if he was only joking. $108,895 may seem like a lot to drop on a stapler, but the internet has seen far worse than that before, and at least this is for charity. People bid tens of thousands of dollars on a single Cheeto just because it looked like a pokémon, which finally sold for $87,840 (£64,500). The Cheeto was probably no longer edible but at least with the stapler you get a working Switch 2 through in, which aren't particularly easy to come by right now. Although sadly the auction doesn't ship outside the US. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter. Jackass star Bam Margera almost lost his legs as they 'dry-rotted' away

Jackass star Bam Margera had been struggling with alcohol abuse for years before doctors warned he could lose his legs, which they described as "dry-rotted rubber bands" TV star Bam Margera has shared that his years-long battle with alcohol nearly cost him his legs. The 45-year-old Jackass personality, whose full name is Brandon Cole Margera, opened up about the harrowing toll his drinking took on his body while attending the launch event for the new skateboarding video game, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4. ‌ "You know I got lost for a little while and I didn't skate for 10 years," he told TMZ, comparing his return to the spotlight to Elvis Presley 's iconic 1968 Comeback Special. "And I realised 'what made me happy? What got me to where I was then?' And it was skateboarding." ‌ Margera credited his wife Dannii Marie, who is a stretch coach, with helping him rebuild his strength and health. He went on to describe the alarming state his legs were in after years of heavy drinking. "You know in 2013, the doctor said they were dry-rotted rubber bands from alcohol abuse so I kind of lost hope," he admitted. "But now they are back to 100 percent. I'm skating again." ‌ "My passion's back and I know that if I just focus on skateboarding then everything else comes along with it. You know, when you love what you do and people can see that. That's when everything else comes with it. You know, I'm an 100 percent skateboarder so I'm just gonna stick to that unless I'm too injured." Margera's appearance at the game's launch marked a big step in him turning his life around. In May he surprised fans by looking healthy and upbeat on a red carpet as he posed for photos with his wife. The couple attended a private dinner in Los Angeles after the event, where Margera was also reunited with long-time friend and skateboarding legend Tony Hawk. ‌ In recent years, Margera has faced significant personal and legal struggles. In 2021 Margera was dismissed from the film Jackass Forever after allegedly breaching a wellness agreement tied to his participation. His troubles continued in 2023 when he was arrested twice. The first time was for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute, and he was arrested again for causing a disturbance at a Burbank restaurant where his estranged wife, Nicole Boyd, and their son Phoenix were dining. Margera was released from jail last September after a DUI parole violation and entered short-term treatment. His attorney, Michael T. van der Veen, has told the Daily Mail that Margera is "back on the road to his successful career and wonderful life with his wife". ‌ Van der Veen added that Margera has been sober for over a year and is now focused on moving forward with his life. The court previously sentenced him to six months of probation after he pleaded guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct, with conditions that included random drug screening and mental health treatment. Margera expressed gratitude for the opportunity to change his life's trajectory, telling the judge, "I just want to say thanks for this whole situation. It lets me clean up my life. It is a blessing in disguise." In an interview with MediaNews Group that same month, Margera acknowledged how close he'd come to a breaking point. "With the path I was on with alcohol and drugs, I needed to hit some rock bottom to turn things around," he added.
