Dhruv Vikram, Tamil star Vikram's son, has a niche for himself in the Tamil film industry with his work in films such as Mahaan and Adithya Varma. The young actor is now reportedly likely to add another film to his kitty. According to reports, he is said to be in talks to play the lead role in the Kollywood remake of a popular Hindi blockbuster.
Dhruv Vikram to star in the Tamil adaptation of Kill?
Kill, starring Lakshya, was one of the most controversial films of 2024. It became the talk of the town with its gruesome action sequence and raw depiction of onscreen violence. Some even drew parallels between it and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal as both films featured plenty of bloodshed.
Now, the film is reportedly being remade in Tamil with Dhruv Vikram in the lead. Dhruv rose to fame with Adithya Varma, a remake of Arjun Reddy. He then appeared alongside Vikram, his father, in Mahaan. The said Tamil remake of Kill has the potential to establish him as a bona fide action star, provided the adaptation lives up to the standards set by the original version.

The film features Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, and Tanya Maniktala in the lead. It grossed Rs 47 crore worldwide against a budget of Rs 40 crore and received rave reviews.

'Politics is expensive': Kangana Ranaut discloses financial realities of being a politician, says 'Honest MPs need a side job'

Kangana Ranaut , known for her fearless persona and impactful roles in Indian cinema, has carved a name for herself not just in films but also in national conversations around socio-political matters. In a significant shift from entertainment to governance, she contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Emerging victorious, she now serves as a Member of Parliament (MP) from the region. However, her recent reflections on political life reveal a candid, and rather critical, perspective on the economic realities of being an MP. Describing Politics as a Costly Endeavour Speaking to Times Now , Kangana opened up about how her current role as a parliamentarian has affected her financial life. According to her, engaging in politics with integrity comes at a steep cost. She described the career path not as a profession but rather as an expensive undertaking that requires a stable source of income elsewhere. In her view, individuals who participate honestly in politics often need another occupation to support themselves, as the role of an MP alone is not sufficient to meet personal and logistical expenses. "Politics is an expensive hobby," she concluded. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dukung Orang Terkasih Menghadapi Limfoma: Mulai Di Sini Limfoma Klik Di Sini Undo The Reality of Her Parliamentary Salary Kangana elaborated on the financial constraints she faces despite holding a high-profile position. She pointed out that while the standard salary of an Indian MP is reportedly between Rs 1 and Rs 1.5 lakh, much of it is consumed by essential daily costs. Expenses such as employing a cook and a driver, along with the heavy travel demands of her constituency—which spans several hundred kilometers—drastically reduce her take-home income. According to her, after all necessary expenditures, she is left with only around Rs 50,000-Rs 60,000 from her official salary. "The expenses are in lakhs because every place is at least 300-400 km away. You must understand that it is a very expensive hobby. You need a side job. A lot of MPs have businesses, and they are working as lawyers," she said. Balancing Two Worlds: Entertainment and Public Service She also maintained emphatically that politics was not a profession and that honest MPs needed a side job. Drawing parallels with past personalities who have navigated both creative and political landscapes, Kangana mentioned figures like Javed Akhtar. Akhtar, who served as a Rajya Sabha member from 2010 to 2016, continued his work in the entertainment industry while holding political office. Inspired by such examples, Kangana stated her intention to remain professionally active in cinema and related fields while fulfilling her responsibilities as a parliamentarian. She highlighted how many MPs manage dual careers, often running businesses or working as lawyers, to maintain financial balance. Expectations of a Ministerial Role While Kangana succeeded in winning a politically challenging constituency, she was not assigned any ministerial portfolio in the new government. When asked if she had expected a ministry, Kangana admitted that she believed she deserved one. She pointed to her significant contributions to the party's campaign and her professional background in writing, directing, and filmmaking. Additionally, she noted her recognition as a Padma Shri awardee, India's fourth-highest civilian honor, as a factor that might have supported her case for a cabinet role. In her view, the absence of a portfolio was unexpected, especially given the duration and intensity of her campaign and the difficulty of her win. A Continuing Presence in the Film Industry In parallel with her political commitments, Kangana remains active in the entertainment world. Her latest project, Emergency, saw her take on multiple roles as director, producer, and lead actor. In the film, she portrayed the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, further demonstrating her versatility and dedication to her craft. The film has been a significant undertaking and represents her continued engagement with cinema even while she steps into the political limelight. Navigating Dual Roles Kangana Ranaut's journey from Bollywood icon to Member of Parliament underscores her multifaceted identity. As she balances legislative duties with cinematic pursuits, her reflections highlight the financial and personal complexities of public service. Her candid remarks provide a rare glimpse into the practical challenges politicians face—particularly those who attempt to serve with honesty and without external financial backing.

How much does a cab guy make?

Have you ever asked a cab driver how much he makes? They usually give you a number that doesn't make you jealous unless you're a lab assistant. But this is a story about when the opposite happened. I live in Bachupally. If you've never visited, good job. It's where the city ends and nothing begins. But life is good, and it happens in Gachibowli, where your college farewell and first day at the office are separated by just a zebra crossing. There's a comedy club there, and I go almost every day. The distance is 12 km, but it's the longest 12 km I've ever travelled. Don't judge me, I've travelled 9,136 km on one trip, but this still feels long because I leave at 8 pm. That's when Coca-Cola factory workers stop bottling sugar and phosphoric acid and head home to drink the same with their families or at a bar. So there's traffic. Especially near Kondapur, where even the guy who designed the traffic icon in Google Maps is probably stuck in the same traffic he mapped. It's like the Matrix, but sad. And now there's a new flyover. I know the joke is repeating, but someone has to get the message. On good days ie; the day after doing jokes for drunk senior citizens, I take a cab. The logic is: I suffered, so now I deserve comfort. On one such day, I booked a cab to the comedy theatre. A place where I say things like this and hope people laugh. The cab fare should've been Rs 350–400. It showed Rs 150. That's when I realised why Uber drivers and Uber — the couple once in love — now act like bitter in-laws. But he accepted the ride, and I was getting late for the open mic, so I got in.

Superman ending explained: What it means for new DCU movies and Peacemaker season 2

Superman, starring David Corenswet, marks the first film of the rebooted DC Universe. The much-awaited film, directed by James Gunn, in its final moments, throws open the gates to the bigger stories in the franchise, while also connecting to Peacemaker Season 2. The film kicks off by establishing that humanity has known about metahumans (superheroes) for over 300 years. Then, Gunn tears the city of Metropolis in two. While the story mostly stands on its own, it quietly lays down the groundwork for something big upcoming. The new movie, which hit theatres on July 11, stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, aka the Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Without rehashing the whole origin story, the film picks up after Superman has already landed on Earth, been raised on a Kansas farm, and is now working as a reporter at the Daily Planet. He's dating fellow journalist Lois and finds himself in deep trouble with LexCorp's billionaire CEO, Lex Luthor, who's hell-bent on taking him down for good. Here's how it all ends. But in this story, Lex isn't any normal villain, he's cracked the code to create a 'pocket universe,' a dimension outside reality. Travelling through portals and trapping anyone he holds a grudge against is second nature to him. It's where he hides all his illegal experiments, like a swarm of super-intelligent monkeys flooding the internet with hate against Superman. Later, Lex unseals this pocket universe right over Metropolis, shaking the entire city and pushing it to the edge of collapse, right after Superman's government-sanctioned imprisonment. It's a last-ditch move to distract him while war breaks out between two fictional nations, Boravia and Jarhanpur. The Engineer (played by María Gabriela de Faría). He also learns about Ultraman, Lex's clone of Superman, which leaves him anxious. 'How do I fight myself? Am I really capable of that kind of darkness?' he mutters. In the final act, Superman confronts Lex in his flying office and delivers an impassioned speech. Meanwhile, Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi) helps reverse the rift and seals the city back together. On the ground, Lois, Jimmy Olsen, and the Daily Planet crew expose Lex's crimes, leading to his arrest. And yes, the Justice Gang makes it out alive. In the story, the 'pocket universe' tech is directly connected to something from Peacemaker Season 1. A device called the Quantum Unfolding Chamber (QUC), which exists outside reality and was designed by Peacemaker's father. John Cena's Peacemaker even makes a quick appearance in Superman, and James Gunn confirmed that Peacemaker Season 2 is headed towards the same universe-changing tech. In fact, two characters introduced in Superman: Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced) and Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), will appear in Season 2. 'And then we see a bunch of other characters later on in the [Peacemaker] season from other parts of the DCU and from Superman,' Gunn told EW. 'There might even be one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show.' Towards the end of Superman, Supergirl (played by Milly Alcock) shows up inside the Fortress of Solitude. She's introduced as Superman's cousin, and her solo film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, will follow this movie and Peacemaker Season 2. Other DCU Teases Belle Reve Prison: After Lex is defeated and arrested, he's taken straight to Belle Reve, the same high-security prison featured in Suicide Squad. Amanda Waller runs the place. She's getting her own show. Justice Gang = Justice League? The movie teases the next big team-up by introducing the Justice Gang, featuring names like Mister Terrific and Metamorpho. A new Justice League might just be on cards Angela Spica/The Engineer: She's part of The Authority (another DCU film in the pipeline). She survives the final battle, and word is, Gunn's got long-term plans for her.
