People are only just realising the right and easy way to unwrap a lollipop after ‘so many years of teeth and frustration'

The Sun09-05-2025
AS much as we - and our littles ones - love a cheeky lollipop, we're all also familiar with the struggle of unwrapping it.
Whether it's by going in with our teeth or resorting to cutting it open with scissors, removing the plastic wrap feels almost impossible.

But according to one savvy TikToker, it's all because you've been doing it totally wrong - and a simple fix will make it a breeze.
Sharing the game-changer of a hack on his social media platform, Sid Neyraz revealed that it had only discovered this not long ago.
The content creator, whose savvy tricks have racked him up a massive 4.5million fanbase, said he didn't know how to properly unwrap a lollipop until he reached his thirties.
Furious, he said: ''You're supposed to use the lollipop to open the lollipop?
''Since I was a kid, I've always twisted from the cellophane, not the lollipop.
''But apparently, if you hold a lollipop and twist [the stick] it opens easier.''
Stunned, the viral TikToker gave the quick fix a go - and was gobsmacked when he realised it worked a treat.
Within a second, the plastic wrapper came off with no faff - and Sid was able to enjoy the sugary treat, as close to 1,800 people flooded to comments.
Since being uploaded just two days ago, the clip has taken the internet by storm, winning Sid more than 3.8million views, over 261k likes and more than 19k shares.
One mum said: ''my 4yr old taught me that.... the disappointment I felt in myself.''
'May I ask why-' trolls slam 'bad mum' as she shows off her 2-year-old's lunch of sweets, chocolate & a Strawberry Yazoo
Another chuckled: ''So many years of teeth and frustration.''
''I just gasped the gaspiest gasp I could of gasped,'' a third was lost for words.
However, whilst the trick is sure to come in handy for many, not everyone was entirely convinced - as some thought one brand in particular had made their lollipops a mission to unwrap.
''That doesn't work for Chupa Chups, especially the mini ones,'' a person said.
''except Chupa Chups, they don't want anyone getting in,'' a viewer agreed.
Speaking of the cult favourite treat, did you know the surprising truth about Chupa Chups logo?
The company was founded in 1958 by Spaniard Enric Bernat but is now owned by the Italian-Dutch multinational company Perfetti Van Melle.
In the early days of the company, the famed surrealist painter Salvador Dali was approached to come up with a new logo for the sweets.
The Catalan artist had found worldwide fame as a leading figure in the artistic movement and is best known for his melting clocks in The Persistence of Memory.
In 1969 though he came up with the new design which quickly became recognisable for the brand.
BBC 's programme Modern Masters: Dali said: 'The result became as instantly recognisable as his melting clocks.
'Dali incorporated the Chupa Chups name into a brightly coloured daisy shape.
'Always keenly aware of branding, Dali suggested that the logo be placed on top of the lolly instead of the side so that it could always be seen intact.'
The brand got its name from the Spanish verb chupar, meaning 'to suck'.
In an obituary of Enric Bernat, he was quoted as saying: 'I saw sweets didn't suit their main consumers, children. They got their hands sticky and ran into trouble with their parents. So I stuck a sweet on a stick.'
Its first marketing campaign was the logo with the slogan 'És rodó i dura molt, Chupa Chups,' which translates from Catalan as the rather dull, 'It's round and long-lasting.'
The brand tried to attract more adult consumers in the 1980s with the anti-smoking slogan 'Smoke Chupa Chups'.
It currently uses the slogan 'Stop smoking, start sucking' and some packaging is designed as a parody for actual cigarette packets.
The packaging parodies the mandatory black and white health warning labels with the phrase 'Sucking does not kill.'

JoJo Siwa's exes Kath Ebbs and Avery Cyrus team up for cheeky social media post amid surprise new friendship

JOJO Siwa's exes Kath Ebbs and Avery Cyrus surprised fans with their new unlikely friendship, after they teamed up for a cheeky social media post. JoJo, 22, split with Kath after publicly falling in love with Chris Hughes in the Celebrity Big Brother house. 7 7 7 It's fair to say that since then, the Australian influencer, 27 - who uses they/them pronouns - has taken the odd swipe at their ex, and today seemed no different. The only difference being is that they got another one of JoJo's exes on board, Avery, 25. Sharing a video on TikTok, the pair were seen dancing and lip syncing to the Hilary Duff song, What Dreams Are Made Of. The pair looked like they were having fun as they danced along to the song which featured in the teen movie, The Lizzie McGuire Movie. It's not known how they became friends, but they have their JoJo break-ups in common. At the time Kath took to Instagram to reveal the news to their fans. They said: "Before I could even get back to the hotel I went to the afterparty with, I guess my now ex, crazy thing to say, and was dumped in the party. "I was told that there are confused feelings there, do with that what you will, and they had realised in the house that I wasn't the person they wanted to spend the foreseeable." While, Avery was left equally bruised following her own split from JoJo. After striking up a friendship, the pair realised they had feelings for each other and became a couple. They went public with their romance in September 2022. The next month, Avery officially asked JoJo to be her girlfriend while on holiday in Orlando. However, by December that year, Avery confirmed they had split, and shared in a TikTok video that said they were 'better as friends.' 7 7 CHRIS HUGHES ROMANCE Meanwhile, JoJo has been practically inseparable with her man Chris Hughes since meeting him on CBB in April. The pair were extremely close the whole time they were on ITV reality the show. They spent the whole time in the house cuddling and snuggling, despite JoJo's relationship with Kath. After ending things with the Aussie influencer, the Dance Moms star wasted no time in turning her close friendship with Chris into a fully fledged relationship. JoJo is believed to be plotting to spend more time in the UK amid her blossoming romance with former Love Island star Chris.

The three things you must include in every itinerary to Kansas City

State-straddling Kansas City (KC to friends) embraces several vibrant districts across Kansas and Missouri. Clients seeking a culturally rich experience in the heart of the US should pay close attention to this authentic, affordable destination, with plenty to tempt food, music and sports fans. In 2026 Kansas City will be in the spotlight as one of the American hosts of the Fifa World Cup 2026, with the area around the National WWI Museum and Memorial set to host the official Fan Festival. In fact, those who follow US sports will be in their element whenever they visit, with American football's Kansas City Chiefs, winners of the 2023 and 2024 Superbowls, among big name local sides and the world's first stadium purpose-built for a professional women's team among landmarks. With KC as part of their itinerary, visitors can also enjoy live performances in the Power & Light District, award-winning restaurants in the Crossroads Arts District, and open-air browsing in the historic River Market area. They might also track down the famous giant shuttlecocks outside The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, an acclaimed and sprawling institution offering free admission daily. But if your clients are new to Kansas City they'll do well to start with its trio of traditional draws: jazz, barbecue and fountains. Unesco-listed jazz From the roaring '20s to the early '40s, jazz reigned supreme in Kansas City. The historic 12th Street was particularly known for its music clubs, which along with its gambling parlours and brothels, earned KC the nickname Paris of the Plains. Today, live jazz endures with an impressive 40 dedicated clubs across the destination and KC is the United States' only designated Unesco City of Music. Your clients may enjoy smooth keyboard performances at Green Lady Lounge or late-night jam sessions at the Mutual Musicians Foundation. They can also learn about local legends including Charlie Parker and other icons such as Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald at the American Jazz Museum in the 18th & Vine Historic Jazz District. I was sick of barely surviving crime-ridden UK – I packed my life in a shipping container & moved to Turkey with my kids

A MUM-of-three ditched the doom and gloom of crime-ridden Britain for a soft life with her kids in Turkey. Fed up with grey skies, scary streets and a constant daily grind to make ends meet, one British mum said 'enough's enough' and packed her entire life into a shipping container to start fresh under the Turkish sun. 3 3 Jodie, aka weather girl on TikTok, is a mum-of-three who swapped her depressing old life for dazzling coastlines, cheaper living, and a whole new outlook in sunny Turkey. 'I was sad. Depressed. You never saw me smile,' she admitted in one of her now-viral videos. But claims she's now significantly happier and "full of life". Jodie had had enough of struggling to stay afloat in the UK. She and her husband were working round the clock just to scrape by – no holidays, no savings, and zero chance of buying a home thanks to what she calls 'stupid little things' constantly going wrong. And as if the money stress wasn't enough, the rising crime in her area tipped her over the edge. She claimed she wanted a better life for her and the kids and so packed up her life, three kids and the dog and moved abroad. With her husband's family already settled in Turkey, the couple decided to give it a go. He flew out first to find a rental for a year, just to see if it would work. Meanwhile, back in Britain, Jodie was packing everything – furniture, clothes, kids' toys, even the kettle – into a shipping container bound for their new life abroad. The Spanish region undiscovered by Brits despite seaside views and ancient Roman cities She claimed it took months to organise and said whilst it was difficult, it was definitely worth the hassle. While their belongings were at sea, her husband drove their car and their massive German Shepherd all the way across Europe – a three-day trek – while Jodie, the kids and her mum hopped on a flight. Their first year was spent in a peaceful Turkish village far from the tourist spots and Jodie absolutely fell in love. She said it was a beautiful, local area that wasn't too touristy. When their tenancy was up, they made the move to Alanya, a more buzzing coastal area, and Jodie's never looked back. 'I love it. I really love it here,' she beamed. She says she wouldn't return to the UK unless she absolutely had to. She explained that her kids are thriving and their lives have all infinitely improved since the move. While Jodie's Turkish hubby sorted most of the boring paperwork, she says she's now 'retired from admin' and doesn't miss the stress one bit. And for anyone else dreaming of ditching the UK for a new life in the sun? The Tiktoker is here to help. 'Drop me a DM,' she says, promising to share details to help with paperwork and all the tricky bits. She's not the only Brit trading dreary, concrete skylines for golden sands. A young woman recently revealed how her health improved after she moved from the UK to Dubai, saying life at home was 'making her sick'. Ela Reeves was struggling with a series of health conditions prior to the move, including chronic fatigue, sore joints and acne. With her body 'crying out for change', she decided to try life in sunnier climes and jetted off to Dubai for a new life in January and has never looked back. How easy is it to move abroad? Brexit means British citizens now have to apply for visas to move to countries within the EU. While some countries residency restrictions are easier than others, here's what you need to do at home before moving: Notify HMRC about your upcoming move. Let your local authority know and provide a forwarding address. Contact your mortgage and utility providers and bank before leaving. If you have paid enough UK national insurance contributions, you can qualify for a state pension abroad - contact the International Pension Centre. You can sign up to the Royal Mail's redirection service. If you have outstanding student loans, contact the Student Loans Centre. If you have children, give due notice to childcares and schools. 3
