PM: Madani government is strong due to unity among coalition partners
While each party within the Madani government may hold different beliefs and stances, their unity and cooperation remain exemplary, he said.
"Alhamdulillah, although we are a coalition of parties with different stances and beliefs, the spirit to develop the country makes the cooperation and spirit extraordinary.
"I want to thank Deputy Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Dr) Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (Barisan Nasional Chairman), (Datuk Seri) Fadillah Yusof (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) and all other colleagues for their unwavering spirit of unity," he said.
The prime minister said this at the Kenduri Rakyat programme held in conjunction with the Madani Ukhwah programme and the Madani Government Administration and Parliamentarians' Retreat in Kampung Pachitan here today.
Also present were Anwar's wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and both deputy prime ministers, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Also present were the cabinet members and MPs from the Madani government, including Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Port Dickson MP Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who is also Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar.
Anwar the Madani government is a caring administration that remains committed to listening to and understanding the voices of the people.
He said that although the country's macroeconomic indicators reflect positive trends, such as increased investment and a declining unemployment rate, the government is fully aware that many challenges persist at the grassroots level.
"In terms of macroeconomics, we are seeing improved performance, stronger investment inflows, and a reduction in the unemployment rate.
"However, I am fully aware that many people at the grassroots level are still facing hardships.
"That is why the Madani government is a government that cares... We have to listen to the people's voices, don't leave the norm, don't ignore the voices of the grassroots," he said.
A total of 143 MPs participated in the Madani government Leadership Ukhuwah Programme held in conjunction with the Madani government Administration and Parliamentarians' Retreat here.

RON95 targeted subsidy rollout delayed
The government said in June that it would implement the targeted RON95 subsidy in stages this year. KUALA LUMPUR : The government has pushed back the deadline for the rollout of the RON95 targeted subsidies, initially fixed for the second half of this year. Government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil said more time was needed to fine-tune the mechanism to prevent leakage. He also said that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim informed the MPs from Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan of the matter when he met them recently. 'He wants to ensure that the majority of the public is not adversely impacted by current policies or those that have yet to be implemented. 'The mechanism is being fine-tuned, which is why there is a slight delay (in the rollout),' he said at a press conference. In June, finance minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan said the government would implement the targeted RON95 subsidy in stages this year but did not give any specifics. On July 1, Amir said the government was working on getting petrol station operators to upgrade their systems for the RON95 subsidy rationalisation scheme to ensure that there would be no queues at the pump.

MIRI (July 21): The Sarawak government has allocated a total of RM565 million to the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor), reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that all Sarawakians can worship in environments that are safe, dignified and comfortable, regardless of their faith. Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said of the total sum, RM475 million has already been channelled through Unifor to support the development and enhancement of houses of worship across Sarawak. 'These efforts are anchored in the principle of social inclusivity,' he said in his speech read by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas during the Interfaith Thanksgiving event held in conjunction with the Sarawak Day celebration at a hotel here last night. He said the state government's support covers places of worship for various faiths, including Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Sikhism, the Baha'i faith and traditional belief systems. Meanwhile, the remaining RM90 million has been allocated to missionary schools throughout Sarawak since 2021. Abang Johari also noted that Unifor is the only agency of its kind in Malaysia, describing it as a clear reflection of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)-led Sarawak government's deep respect for the state's diverse religious landscape.
