BBC launch huge Oasis coverage ahead of reunion gigs with entire night of music
Oasis fans will definitely(maybe) enjoy BBC's Saturday night line up of Gallagher Brothers content ahead of their reunion tour.

Whether or not you managed to get tickets, you may want to get your Oasis fix before the reunion tour kicks off in a couple of weeks time. Now, the BBC have decided to be incredibly generous and broadcast a night of Gallagher best bits on Saturday, June 21.
In two weeks time we will (hopefully) see the notoriously feuding brothers take the stage for the first time together in 15 years. Their reunion tour kicks off in Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday, July 4 with a second show at the venue on Saturday, July 5.
BBC Two Wales will be airing two different Oasis performances as well as a documentary on the band from 8.35pm to 00.00am on the Saturday. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter
Dig out your anoraks and bucket hats, because it's the perfect night in for fans of the band and if you didn't get your hands on tickets it is the closest thing to the real deal.
Well, that or seeing a tribute artist I guess.
Moving on. From 8.35pm fans of the band can watch Oasis at the BBC, followed by the documentary Oasis: Right Here, Right Now at 10.20pm.

Lastly, at 11.00pm audiences will be treated to a studio concert by the Gallagher brothers, hosted by Jools Holland called Later Presents Oasis.
It was first shown in April 2000, and includes tracks like the number one Go Let It Out, as well as earlier hits like Wonderwall, Some Might Say and Supersonic.

Lloyds Banking Group estimated that Oasis fans collectively lost more than £2 million to scams since tickets for the band's long-awaited reunion tour went on sale last year.

Gregg Wallace sacked as MasterChef presenter, says BBC News
The 60-year-old had stepped away from hosting the BBC cooking competition last year after a number of historical complaints came to light. There have been fresh claims about the TV presenter from 50 more people to the corporation including allegations he groped one MasterChef worker and pulled his trousers down in front of another, BBC News said. A university student has claimed he reached under her skirt and pinched her bottom in a nightclub, and a junior worker alleged he dropped his trousers in front of her while he was not wearing any underwear. Production firm Banijay previously said Wallace is 'committed to fully co-operating' with the external review while his lawyers have previously strongly denied 'he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature', according to BBC News. Some of the more recent claims include a MasterChef worker who said she tried to complain about comments she alleged he made about her body in 2022, and a former policeman who said he tried to raise concerns after he allegedly witnessed Wallace making inappropriate sexual comments at a charity event in 2023. BBC News reported the majority of the 50 people had said he made inappropriate sexual comments, with 11 women accusing him of inappropriate sexual behaviour, such as groping and touching. BBC News also said it has not seen the final Banijay report but it is understood the presenter has been sacked. Earlier on Tuesday, the former greengrocer claimed he had been cleared of the 'most serious and sensational accusations' against him ahead of the report examining his alleged misconduct. In a statement posted on his Instagram account, he said: 'I will not go quietly. I will not be cancelled for convenience. I was tried by media and hung out to dry well before the facts were established. 'The full story of this incredible injustice must be told and it is very much a matter of public interest.' He also said he recognises that some of his humour and language was inappropriate 'at times' and apologised for this. Wallace started out as a greengrocer before he shot to fame fronting BBC shows including Inside The Factory, Supermarket Secrets, as well as MasterChef, Celebrity MasterChef and MasterChef: The Professionals. The most recent series of MasterChef: The Professionals continued to air last year amid allegations against Wallace, but two MasterChef celebrity Christmas specials were pulled from the BBC's schedule in December 2024. At the time, Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said she would look to impose new standards in the creative industry amid the allegations. A BBC spokesperson said: 'Banijay UK instructed the law firm Lewis Silkin to run an investigation into allegations against Gregg Wallace. 'We are not going to comment until the investigation is complete and the findings are published.' Banijay UK declined to comment on Wallace's comments.

Following the band's highly anticipated reunion tour, which began last week in Cardiff, the licensing company compiled a list of the top 10 most played songs by the band from the past 25 years. PPL, which licenses the use of recorded music on radio, TV and in public places, used airplay data from radio and TV stations across the UK to put the list together. It revealed that Wonderwall was the second most-played recording on UK radio and TV, followed by She's Electric at number three, Roll With It at number four and Little By Little taking fifth place. The Importance Of Being Idle, Whatever, Some Might Say and Live Forever followed. The top 10 list ends with Champagne Supernova, the closing track to their second studio album (What's The Story) Morning Glory?. Released in 1995, the album became the fifth bestselling album in the UK, according to the Official Charts Company, and contributed six tracks to the top 10 list. The data also found that Oasis have built up more than seven years of cumulative airplay on UK radio and TV stations since 2000, with their songs being played, on average, 120 times per day across the country. Peter Leathem, chief executive of PPL, said: 'Oasis are one of the most iconic, era-defining bands we have ever seen. 'They dominated the 1990s and 2000s, and for many, they personified those decades, but their timeless songs continue to resonate with audiences even long after their release.' This comes after the band performed together at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday for the first time in almost 16 years after their dramatic split in 2009, which was prompted by a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in France. Mr Leathem added: 'With their reunion tour underway, this chart provides the perfect opportunity to look back in admiration at the enduring impact of their music throughout this century, and to celebrate one of the greatest British bands of all time.' After tickets for the UK and Ireland shows went on sale last year, there was outrage as some standard tickets appeared to have jumped from £148 to £355. The controversy prompted the Government and the UK's competition watchdog to pledge that they would look at the use of dynamic pricing. The band's world tour, Oasis Live '25, will see the band perform at Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park throughout July, August and September before heading to Japan, South Korea, South America, Australia and North America.

BBC MasterChef's Gregg Wallace suffered 'heart attack' as fresh groping claims emerge
Shamed MasterChef host Gregg Wallace has been sacked by the BBC after 50 more people complained about him. The 60-year-old accused the BBC of 'cancelling him' Disgraced MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace has been fired following an additional 50 complaints lodged against him, though he's staunchly determined to clear his name. The 60-year-old attacked BBC News for "peddling gossip" after they reported receiving a surge of new allegations ranging from sexual comments to uninvited touching and exposing himself. While Wallace conceded that his humour on the show was "inappropriate", an insider said that his tirade against "middle-class women of a certain age" in a social media video was deemed grounds for dismissal. Nevertheless, he sees himself as wronged and slammed the fresh accusations as "baseless and sensationalised", vowing: "I will not go quietly. I will not be cancelled for convenience." These developments arose shortly after the television host was rushed away to hospital with a feared heart attack. After suffering two days of intense chest pains, Wallace was released from a medical facility in Ashford, Kent. A confidante told the Sun: "The stress of this betrayal brought on the suspected heart attack. It's been hell." Reports suggest that just two days post-hospital, Wallace was informed that he was being sacked. Banijay, the production company behind MasterChef, is poised to unveil the conclusions from a half-year examination into allegations against Greg Wallace as early as tomorrow or by Friday. The probe, spearheaded by law firm Lewis Silkin, began following accusations of improper sexual behaviour on the set of the BBC culinary programme last year. At that time, Wallace's legal representatives asserted: "It is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature." An individual with knowledge of Banijay's inner workings suggested the BBC may have already looked into many of the recent claims throughout their investigation. An informant privy to the 200-page dossier commented that perhaps Wallace's gravest error was his December 2024 video addressing the initial complaints, wherein he remarked: "The complaints [are] from a handful of middle-class women of a certain age." This act itself was cited as grounds for dismissal, they said. In response, yesterday saw Wallace issue a comprehensive five-page explanation across social platforms. In it, Wallace conceded: "I recognise my humour and language, at times, was inappropriate. For that, I apologise." He continued to defend himself stating: "I have now been cleared by the Silkin report of the most serious and sensational accusations. The most damaging claims, including allegations from public figures which have not been upheld, were found to be baseless after a full and forensic six-month investigation." Wallace announced his decision to break his silence before the report's release, stressing: "I cannot sit in silence while my reputation is further damaged." Wallace has made serious allegations against BBC News, claiming they have aired "legally unsafe accusations" that Silkin previously deemed incredible. He believes that publishing these stories before the report's release is a tactic to undermine the process. In response to suggestions that the BBC had "fired" him, a spokesperson clarified that this was not feasible as they were not his employer. Wallace, who is a father to young Sid with autism, feels he deserved better support. He elaborated: "I was hired by the BBC and MasterChef as the cheeky greengrocer. A real person with warmth, character, rough edges and all. For over two decades, that authenticity was part of the brand. "Now, in a sanitised world, that same personality is seen as a problem. My neurodiversity, now formally diagnosed as autism, was suspected and discussed by colleagues across countless seasons of MasterChef. "Yet nothing was done to investigate my disability or protect me from what I now realise was a dangerous environment for over 20 years. That failure is now being quietly buried." He concluded: "I was tried by media and hung out to dry before the facts were established. The full story of this incredible injustice must be told." A source close to Wallace has claimed he's been unfairly scapegoated, stating: "This is about protecting a format, one of the most valuable formats that Banijay and the BBC has. And what they should be doing is having a clean start and not just chucking one bloke under the bus. "Gregg has employed a lawyer and he's going for blood. The report talks about him being odd – the guy has got autism and it was never addressed. It's been a trial by social media and a big pile-on. "All these things, when they're looked at by a lawyer, are not true. Bullying Penny Lancaster? Not true. Vanessa Feltz? No evidence. It's about him having a terrible sense of humour and telling rude jokes." The friend revealed that Wallace, a father of three, is struggling, cautioning: "This guy is fragile. When everything has been taken away like this, it's quite overwhelming." A MasterChef insider reported that discussions regarding Wallace's future on the show have not yet occurred. Recent claims against Wallace include two women alleging he exposed himself to them, a student accusing him of putting his hand up her skirt in 2013, and another woman asserting he groped her the year before. The extent to which the 50 allegations have been probed by the review lawyers, who focused solely on MasterChef-related accusations, remains uncertain. The BBC has stated: "We are not going to comment until the investigation is complete and the findings published."
