Elite WR recruit projected to commit to Georgia football
Talented class of 2027 wide receiver recruit Gavin Honore is one of the top playmakers in his recruiting cycle. Honore plays high school football for Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. Mater Dei is a national powerhouse and is where Georgia Bulldogs running back Nate Frazier played his high school football.
Honore is ranked as a three-star recruit. The rising junior is the No. 421 recruit in the nation and the No. 52 prospect in California, per 247Sports. Honore is the No. 54 wide receiver in the nation. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound receiver also runs track and has excellent speed.
The Mater Dei star is projected to commit to Georgia. Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia don't have a commitment in the class of 2027 yet, so it would be nice for the Bulldogs to land a foundational piece in the 2027 cycle.
The elite receiver was recently named as the MVP of a National Preps Showcase. Georgia offered Honore on April 1. Honore's recruitment has picked up recently and he's received recent scholarship offers from Texas, Texas Tech and Louisville.
Honore is a slot receiver with excellent quickness. He's a well-refined route runner and made a lot of his sophomore production running deeper routes.

Georgia football looking to flip Wisconsin RB commit
The Georgia Bulldogs are looking to flip one of the Wisconsin Badgers' most prized commitments in the class of 2026. The Badgers, who have struggled mightily to recruit in the 2026 recruiting cycle (No. 60 recruiting class nationally with 14 commits), only have two four-star commitments. Of course, Georgia is hoping to flip one of Wisconsin's two four-star commitments. Four-star running back Amari Latimer committed to the Badgers in late June, but that has not stopped Georgia's pursuit of the talented running back. Latimer plays high school football for Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, Georgia. The 6-foot, 215-pound running back is the No. 306 recruit in the class of 2026 and the No. 20 running back prospect. The Wisconsin commit is the No. 36 prospect in Georgia, per 247Sports. As a junior, Lassiter rushed for over 1,100 yards and scored 19 total touchdowns. Latimer runs with excellent balance through contact and has good, but not elite speed. Latimer is the fourth-best running back in Georgia. One of the backs he's ranked behind is four-star Georgia commit Jae Lamar, who is the No. 120 recruit in the nation. Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia are not satisfied with just one running back commitment in the 2026 cycle. The Dawgs are in the top four contenders for five-star running back Savion Hiter, who is slated to announce his commitment on Aug. 19. If Georgia is unable to land Hiter, then don't be surprised if the Bulldogs make a strong push to flip Latimer. Georgia has a lot of recruiting advantages over Wisconsin and won't be afraid to use them to strengthen their No. 1 ranked recruiting class. Nation's No. 1 running back announces commitment date
An elite running back recruit and Georgia Bulldogs recruiting target has announced his commitment date. Five-star RB prospect Savion Hiter will be committing on Aug. 19, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals. Hiter will choose among Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee. Hiter is a five-star prospect from the class of 2026. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound freshman plays high school football and track and field for Louisa County High School in Mineral, Virginia. Hiter made the Under-Armour All-American roster, alongside elite recruits such as Georgia freshmen defensive tackle Elijah Griffin and offensive tackle Juan Gaston, as well as Georgia commits Kaiden Prothro (five-star tight end) and Zech Fort (four-star safety). On 247Sports' analysis on Hiter, Andrew Ivins compared Hiter to former North Carolina RB Omarion Hampton. Hiter has no visits scheduled anymore. He took official visits with Ohio State (May 30), Georgia (June 6), Michigan (June 13), and Tennessee (June 20). 247Sports has not released a Crystal Ball prediction for him yet. Georgia currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, with 30 total commits, including two five-stars and 21 four-stars. The Bulldogs earned a commitment from four-star running back Jae Lamar on June 21 already, but Georgia would like to earn multiple running back commits. In the 2025 cycle, the Bulldogs lost Ousmane Kromah on the first day of the early signing period when he flipped to Florida State. Hiter is the nation's No. 1 running back and No. 9 overall prospect from the class of 2026. He'd be the highest ranked commit in Georgia's class, should he choose to play for the Bulldogs. Hiter is the top ranked recruit in Virginia. If Georgia misses out on the five-star RB, then the Bulldogs may look to flip a four-star Wisconsin RB commit.

Former Georgia DL Jordan Davis underwent major change ahead of 2025 NFL season
As NFL training camps kick off for the 2025 season, one player drawing significant attention is Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Jordan Davis. Fresh off a Super Bowl-winning campaign, the Eagles exercised Davis' fifth-year option, ensuring his tenure with the team extends through the 2026 season. Davis is part of a notable players of former Georgia Bulldogs who have found success with the Eagles, a trend that continues to be a storyline for the Philadelphia franchise. Davis says he has shed 26 pounds this offseason. Davis is now listed weight at 336 pounds, which is aimed at enhancing his performance and allowing him to play more snaps. If he can reach another level this season with his All-Pro teammate Jalen Carter, then they can be one of the most dominant duos in the NFL. Davis is one of eight Georgia Bulldogs on the Eagles, who open the 2025 NFL season against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 4.
