Alex Cooper booed by Cubs fans after ‘brutal' seventh-inning stretch performance
The 'Call Her Daddy' podcast host was mercilessly booed when it was time to lead the crowd in singing 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game' during the seventh-inning stretch at Wrigley Field.
'You've never seen something like this before,' Cooper said before she belted out the lyrics in overly dramatic fashion.
The boos only got louder as she continued her rendition of the classic baseball tune.
Cooper, who couldn't contain her laughter, was lifted in the air by her two friends and backup dancers at the end of the performance.

After a botched first attempt — Kamara threw the ball in the dirt and nearly outside the left batter's box — the five-time Pro Bowler redeemed himself on his second try.
Cooper's takeover at Wrigley Field comes nearly one month after the premiere of her Hulu docuseries 'Call Her Alex.'
In the two-part program, Cooper alleged she was sexually harassed by Boston University soccer coach Nancy Feldman as a member of the team in college.
It was reported in June that Boston University said it would hire an external law group to look into the university's athletics department's policies in the wake of the claims.

Chip Gaines had a few select words after Samaritan's Purse founder Franklin Graham publicly criticized his and wife Joanna's new HBO Max show for casting a same-sex couple with twins among the three families who are featured. Graham, who is the son of evangelist Billy Graham, wrote Saturday on X that he found it 'very disappointing' to hear that Jason Hanna, Joe Riggs and their boys, Ethan and Lucas, were included on 'Back to the Frontier,' produced by Magnolia Network. Chip and Joanna Gaines created Magnolia and are executive producers on the show. 'I hope this isn't true, but I read today that Chip and Joanna Gaines are featuring a gay couple in their new series. If It is true, it is very disappointing,' Graham wrote. 'While we are to love people, we should love them enough to tell them the truth of God's Word. His Word is absolute truth. God loves us, and His design for marriage is between one man and one woman. Promoting something that God defines as sin is in itself sin.' The American Family Assn. — which bills itself as a 'pro-family organization' and was formerly known as the National Federation for Decency — chimed in first, posting a statement from Vice President Ed Vitagliano saying, 'This is sad and disappointing, because Chip and Joanna Gaines have been very influential in the evangelical community. Moreover, in the past, they have stood firm on the sanctity of marriage regardless of the personal cost that has entailed. Some critics also hammered Target's recognition of Pride Month at all. A boycott was urged among right-wing conservatives. They also called for a comment from the couple. 'No one doubts that Chip and Joanna are good people, kind, moral, and aligned with American values,' Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy said at the time when she was subbing as host of 'Jesse Watters Primetime.' 'But if I had a line at a company and my name was on it and that brand partnered with a trans Satanist that makes tuck 'em bikinis for kids, I would feel compelled to speak up. 'Now, maybe they're raising questions internally. Of course, that's possible, but why aren't they doing so publicly?' The person whom Campos-Duffy — wife of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy — called a 'trans Satanist' is London designer Erik Carnell, who is trans and whose Abprallen line had partnered with Target until the retailer ended the relationship under pressure from the boycott. Carnell's full line included a design that said 'Satan respects pronouns.' That design was never available at Target, according to CNN. Conservative activist Benny Johnson also posted a video of himself in a Target store at the time, touring the Pride Month section, then walking what he said was '10 steps' to the Magnolia Home display. He referred to Joanna Gaines and her family sarcastically as 'the paragons of Christian entrepreneurs and family values.' 'I've been tweeting about how Christian influencers Chip & Joanna Gaines have not disavowed Target's Satanic child grooming despite the backlash,' he said. Andrea Gibson, poet and the subject of an award-winning documentary, dies at 49
LOS ANGELES - Andrea Gibson, a poet, activist and subject of the documentary film "Come See Me in the Good Light," died on Monday following a four-year fight with ovarian cancer. They were 49. According to an announcement made on Instagram, Gibson died on Monday at their Longmont, Colorado, home at 4:16 a.m., "surrounded by their wife, Meg, four ex-girlfriends, their mother and father, dozens of friends, and their three beloved dogs." The post also included a quote from Gibson: "Whenever I leave this world, whether it's sixty years from now, I wouldn't want anyone to say I lost some battle. I'll be a winner that day." They were the author of seven poetry books and were well-recognized for their role in the documentary film "Come See Me in the Good Light," which won the Festival Favorite Award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. The film follows both Gibson and their partner as they come to terms with their terminal cancer diagnosis. "Throughout the Festival, we saw audiences moved by Andrea Gibson's and Megan Falley's journeys in 'Come See Me in the Good Light,'" Sundance Film Festival Director of Programming Kim Yutani said to the fest's website. "Festival goers embraced the humor and heartbreak of this intimate documentary directed by Ryan White, as it speaks to art and love and reminds us what it means to be alive as we face mortality." Tig Notaro, a producer on the film, on Monday reminisced about the impact that Gibson had on poetry in the wake of their death. "As far as poetry went, I really only knew the roses are red type stuff. Then, Andrea Gibson walked on stage," Notaro wrote on Instagram. "Andrea was truly a rock star poet. So many of Andrea's words have quietly guided me through life's twists and turns- I will forever be so grateful." Gibson, born on Aug. 13, 1975, in Calais, Maine, was a two-time winner of the Independent Publisher's award in 2019 and 2021. They were named the ninth Poet Laureate of Colorado in September 2023, and they served until their death. The two-year title honors outstanding Colorado poets and promotes the art form. "Andrea's voice holds a fierce conviction in inspiring others to pursue art and take action toward solving social issues and they personify our Colorado for All spirit," Colorado Governor Jared Polis wrote in a press release upon Gibson's achievement in 2023. "I know Andrea will be a strong advocate for the arts and art education as a way to bring us together, has a strong desire for unity and to bring people together through poetry." On Monday, Polis remembered Gibson as "one of a kind" and an artist who "will be deeply missed." In 2008, Gibson won the first-ever Women of the World Poetry Slam. According to their Academy of American Poets profile, they received its Laureate Fellowship in 2024. "Meg and Heather, the authors of this post, have absolutely no idea how to encapsulate the magnitude and magnificence of a life like Andrea Gibson's," Monday's announcement continued. "So they intend to keep writing, to keep telling Andrea's story, to keep Andrea alive in every way they can. "Andrea would want you to know that they got their wish. ‘Star Trek' Star Makes Unexpected Comment About William Shatner
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds star Anson Mount, who plays Captain Christopher Pike, is opening up about his relationship with William Shatner. During an appearance on the July 15 episode of Michael Rosenbaum's podcast Inside of You, Mount said he occasionally has conversations with Shatner, who originated the role of Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek: The Original Series, which aired from 1966 to 1969. Mount surprised Rosenbaum by stating that he doesn't ask Shatner about his time starring in Star Trek. Rather Mount likes to ask about his horse farm. "I like to ask Bill about his horses ... He's really devoted most of his life to show horses and he goes all over the world with them," said Mount during the podcast interview. In addition, Mount complimented Shatner for his wit and high energy level at the age of 94. "I could only pray for that much energy at that age. He's a force of nature. It's unreal," said Mount. Mount then shared that he has been at fan conventions where Shatner has taken center stage during panels. According to Mount, audiences are absolutely mesmerized by Shatner. "I've been to a couple of things where they just put him out on stage with a folding chair and he just starts talking. And he'll talk an hour straight and have the audience captivated. He can turn it on like you wouldn't believe," said the actor. Mount mentioned his appreciation for Shatner in a June 12 Instagram upload. In the caption of the post, Mount confirmed that Star Trek: SNW, which premiered in 2022, will end after its 5th season. He also noted that both Captain Kirk and Captain Pike were at the helm of the USS Enterprise. "I grew up watching Bill Shatner strut his stuff across the bridge and sit in a chair that I could not fathom would one day be mine to occupy.
