Auburn Tigers football: Deuce Knight 2025 player profile
Knight is ready to prove himself as a quality starting QB in the SEC. Auburn landed its quarterback of the future in its 2025 haul in Mississippi dual-threat Deuce Knight. Knight signed with Auburn as one of the top quarterbacks in the nation, flipping his pledge from Notre Dame to the Tigers last October. Early analysis from Andrew Ivins of 247Sports suggests that Knight is great at challenging opposing defenses with his left-handed passing ability. Owns a smoother stroke and can rip the ball on tight lines to the second and third levels, but accuracy can vary and hamper drives. At his best when moving left and looking to attack the perimeter as he excels at connecting on out-breaking routes at or past the sticks. Can also challenge a defense vertically with his arm strength, but needs to get better at playing from a structured environment and working through his reads. Here is a look at Knight's 2025 player profile as he prepares to compete for the starting quarterback job. Ohio defensive tackle product originally committed to Florida flips to Ohio State
BREAKING: Class of 2026 DL Jamir 'JJ' Perez has Flipped his Commitment from Florida to Ohio State, he tells me for @rivalsThe 6'4 350 DL from Cleveland, OH had been Committed to the Gators since May'The best in Ohio stay in Ohio' It's the way we thought it would go along. Three-star Cleveland Glenville defensive tackle Jamir Perez has flipped his commitment from the Florida Gators to Ohio State, a place that is a pipeline for the Tarblooders and a destination most felt he would end up in the first place. Instead, Perez shocked everyone by deciding to head south to Gainesville when he committed back in mid-May. Despite the early word, Larry Johnson and gang never gave up on the Ohio native, and rumblings began to surface that Perez was leaning towards flipping, and that's exactly what happened on Friday when the announcement was made on social media. The 6-foot, 4-inch, 360-pounder is a mountain of a prospect and a true nose tackle that could develop into something very special for Ohio State despite having just a 3-star status. Currently, he is ranked as the No. 74 defensive lineman and 679th overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. His commitment gives Ohio State 20 for the class as it looks to put the finishing touches heading into the fall and toward the Early Signing Period in December. There has been a lot of news with Ohio State football recruiting lately, and it's been a mixed bag with some good news and plenty of not-so-good news. We'll continue to keep an eye on what's happening on the banks of the Olentangy when it comes to luring prospects to play in the Scarlet and Gray. Independence Day: America's Team Cowboys must secede from predictable offensive tendencies
Predictability can be an NFL offense's worst enemy. In today's game, deception is almost as important as the talent on the field. If opposing teams what to expect before the snap, then they are smart enough to know how to beat it. While this applies to both sides of the ball, it is one of the many changes Cowboys fans hope to see implemented from new head coach Brian Schottenheimer in 2025. When it comes to their offensive tendencies, Dallas needs to declare independence from transparency. It's one of few advantages of having a first-time head coach at the helm — no one knows exactly what to expect. Even though Schottenheimer has been in Dallas for two years, he's been stuck in a supportive role behind Mike McCarthy. With McCarthy now out to pasture and Schottenheimer seizing the play caller role, it's anyone's guess what an unbridled Schottenheimer offense looks like. And that's a good thing. Opponents likely expect a run-heavy offense with ample inside-zone running concepts and a play-action-rich passing game as a complementary force. But Schottenheimer, and his newly hired offensive coordinator Klayton Adams, are well-versed in a wide range of concepts that will no doubt be put to use in 2025. The new head coach has discussed his desire to run multiple personnel groups in variety of ways this season. Using versatile players in different alignments and formations can stress a defense, prompting misjudgments and mismatches for his offense to take advantage of. Running passing plays and rushing plays out of identical looks is something Kyle Shanahan has made famous in his brand of offense, and it's something Schottenheimer appears to be aiming for in 2025. To what degree everything is applied is anyone's guess. Schottenheimer has dropped nuggets of information but has been strategically vague as to the degree and breadth of these concepts on his ideal offense. It makes for an exciting and unpredictable attack in 2025 and, with any luck, will keep opponents guessing into the postseason.
