'Gifted' Mulholland Drive singer Rebekah Del Rio dies aged 57
Rebekah Del Rio has died aged 57.
The singer songwriter – who made a brief but memorable appearance in David Lynch's iconic 2001 movie Mulholland Drive – passed away on Monday (June 23) at her home in Los Angeles.
Her nephew Dan Coronado confirmed the tragic news on Facebook, as he wrote: 'Just found out my Tia Becky passed away, and we literally just saw her on Father's Day.
'So grateful the kids got to hear her sing, and also that I didn't listen to her and secretly recorded the moment.'
He paid tribute to her 'God-given talent' for music and thanked his late aunt for sharing her 'gift'.
He added in his tearful post: 'Her most famous song is titled Llorando which is named after Roy Orbison's song Crying which I'm doing right now as I type this out.

Her Spanish version of Crying appeared in an iconic scene in Mulholland Drive.
She is singing live at Club Silencio, but her character's voice can still be heard even after she faints and drops to the floor.
She previously revealed that despite the version in the film being a secret recording from her first meeting with Lynch, who died aged 78 earlier this year, she had sung along each take.
She told IndieWire: 'There were many takes. And with every take, I sang along, because I felt I had to produce that same feeling with the vibrato in my throat so the audience could see it.'

Emma Raducanu breaks silence on Carlos Alcaraz romance rumours with four-word response

The British starlet is set to partner with Alcaraz for mixed doubles at the US Open this year, sparking whispers of a love link-up. The UK's leading lady is gearing up to take on teen wildcard Mimi Xu in Wimbledon's first round come Monday. Currently ranked 38th globally, she's homing in on the clash following her stint at Eastbourne. Still, she found herself fielding speculation about Alcaraz during her pre-tournament press briefing in SW19. Having been chums with the Spanish sensation for a good four years, Raducanu was seen hitting balls with him at Wimbledon on Friday. When quizzed about whether tactics for the US Open came up, she said: "No, it was fun yesterday. We were both on court with (water brand) Evian. "Yeah, we were just getting some volley practicing ahead of New York. Yeah, I'm really happy obviously to be playing with him. Yeah, we had a good time yesterday.", reports the Mirror. Predictably, the press conference turned to the topic she likely anticipated. On probing whether there's any truth to the romantic links, Raducanu responded with a beam, asserting: "We're just good friends." Raducanu and Alcaraz, both 22 years old, have formed a friendship over the years. Raducanu recently shared the story of how they became close, saying: "I've known him for years and actually in Wimbledon 2021, it was like kind of the first time I started getting to know him, and I had a good run there and then also again in the US Open in 2021." She recalled how Alcaraz's victories would motivate her to win her own matches, which often took place a day later. "And I remember he was always playing the day before me and I was playing like the second day of the round. And I would see him win and then I would have motivation to win and get myself into that position too." Strictly star left 'scared and helpless' after London mugging
Strictly Come Dancing professional Michelle Tsiakkas has issued a public warning after a recent traumatic experience in central London. The 29-year-old dancer shared her ordeal on social media, urging fans to remain vigilant, as she described feeling 'scared and helpless' following the incident. 'Now this was a couple of days ago and I've just about mentally recovered from that. It was quite traumatising on the day,' she said on Instagram. In the moment Michelle panicked and fell to the ground – injuring her knee. The professional dancer described it as a 'heart sinking' feeling when she realised what had happened in the whirlwind. Thankfully, two passersby rushed over to help her up and offer reassurance, while Michelle said their kindness meant the world in that moment.
