Sonos debuts in Saudi Arabia as headline sponsor of SLS Expo 2025
For the first time, Sonos, the sound experience company known for home audio, has made its official entry into the Saudi Arabian market as the headline sponsor of the Saudi Light and Sound (SLS) Expo 2025. Running from May 20 to 22, this event marks Sonos' debut appearance in the Kingdom and signals a significant step in the brand's global expansion.
At the forefront of its showcase is the Era 100 Pro, a professional-grade speaker featuring the brand's signature sound and sleek design, now enhanced with Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities. This feature streamlines installation for audio professionals by removing the need for AC mains at each speaker location. The Era 100 Pro will be displayed in various configurations using the versatile Surface Mount, underscoring its adaptability for professional environments.
Sonos will also exhibit its best-selling smart speakers designed for high-end residential and light-commercial applications, including home cinemas and hospitality spaces. Attendees will experience the full breadth of Sonos' innovations in a dynamic, multi-sensory commercial setup, showcasing the brand's premium solutions for immersive, design-led audio.
Saudi Arabia, one of the region's fastest-growing markets for entertainment and technology, plays a strategic role in Sonos' Middle East expansion. With Vision 2030 driving investments in tourism, hospitality, and culture, demand for cutting-edge audio experiences is rising—making Sonos' arrival timely and impactful.
Dunja LaRosa, Chief Revenue Officer at Sonos, said: 'As one of the region's fastest-growing markets for entertainment, technology and innovation, Saudi Arabia represents a key market for Sonos' continued expansion in the Middle East region. We're excited to showcase at SLS Expo for the very first time and introduce the Era 100 Pro, our first solution for professional installation. We have new innovation across our portfolio, allowing partners to get hands-on and experience our technologies that offer a premium audio solution.'
The exhibit will also feature a state-of-the-art architectural audio zone with in-wall, in-ceiling, and outdoor speakers developed in partnership with Sonance. A home theatre section will highlight the Arc Ultra soundbar, offering 9.1.4 Dolby Atmos sound through Sonos' new Sound Motion technology—delivering powerful bass and cinematic audio from a compact design. Completing the system will be the Era 300 speakers, Sub 4 subwoofers, and Sonos Ace headphones, offering a full spectrum of immersive sound.
SLS Expo 2024 marks more than just a product showcase—it reflects Sonos' deepening commitment to connecting with Saudi consumers and professionals. The company aims to establish a lasting presence in the Kingdom by supporting the creation of premium sound environments across luxury residences, hotels, and entertainment venues.
Karim Zaki, CEO at GR Media Solutions, added: 'As we expand Sonos' presence across the Middle East, and now into Saudi Arabia, we're tapping into a growing demand for premium, design-led audio experiences. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class technology and shaping the future of the region's audio landscape.'

A new study by the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) and the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) reveals that Saudi Arabia's approach to AI leadership aligns with global trends while also demonstrating distinct national priorities. The research, which surveyed over 600 Chief AI Officers (CAIOs) across 22 countries, showcases Saudi Arabia's unique strengths and opportunities for growth in AI leadership. 'Saudi Arabia's commitment to AI is evident in its adoption of CAIO roles and the support these leaders receive from senior executives,' said Fahad Alanazi, General Manager, IBM Saudi Arabia. 'This study underscores the Kingdom's strategic focus on AI, as reflected in its governance models, budget control, and a strong emphasis on building business cases for AI investments.' UK Advertising at Cannes Lions: Bridging markets, building creativity
At Cannes Lions this year, 'storytelling' was everywhere. But as Kiran Jay Haslam, CMO, Diriyah Company, wisely pointed out, 'If you don't have something worthy of sharing, you don't have a story.' It's a reminder that words alone don't move markets. Ideas with impact do. That shift from buzzwords to real-world challenges set the tone for our roundtable at Cannes Lions hosted by UK Advertising and Athar Festival. Leaders from both the UK and Saudi Arabian advertising industries came together to discuss the theme 'Redefining Creative Effectiveness for a Growing Market'. Yet, as so often happens when a conversation hits the right note, the discussion evolved into something deeper: an honest appraisal of where our industries stand and where we need to go together. Saudi Arabia's advertising sector is undergoing an intentional transformation, driven by Vision 2030, boosted by strategic investments and a digitally native population. This is fuelling a new generation of creatives shaping a globally recognised industry, with Saudi agencies making their mark internationally, including 12 Lions at Cannes this year. When the moderator, Campaign Middle East's Anup Oommen, asked how the group defines true effectiveness, the consensus was that creative effectiveness means the tangible impact creative work delivers against clear objectives such as driving growth or strengthening brand equity. However, the question also led the group to explore ambition and the challenges this poses for both markets. Talent was a key theme, not in terms of creativity or enthusiasm, which Saudi has in abundance, but in strengthening critical thinking skills to consistently deliver world-class work. Ian Fairservice, Chairman of Athar Festival, and Managing Partner and Group Editor-in-Chief, Motivate Media Group, underscored the importance of direct access to global mentors, opportunities and capability-building for both markets, keeping in mind today's cross-cultural creative economy. It was noted that critical thinking is a particular strength of the UK sector, highlighting an opportunity for collaboration to help develop this capability further in Saudi Arabia. The challenge lies less in potential and more in building the right support systems to help that potential thrive. This is where UK–Saudi collaboration can be transformative. Yet, as Mohamed Al Ayed, Vice Chairman, Athar Festival, and CEO, TRACCS, pointed out, moving beyond 'knowledge transfer' to a model of shared learning is crucial. That linguistic shift signals mutual respect, cultural exchange, and sustainable partnership. As Jason Foo, CEO, BBD Perfect Storm, put it during the discussion, 'Saudi's ambition and creative energy are undeniable. The UK brings experience navigating global markets and building brands. The best partnerships are where ideas flow both ways.' Jane Asscher, CEO, 23red and VP, frog UK, part of Capgemini Invent, added, 'We've spent years refining how we pitch and collaborate with clients, but that's not a one-way export, it's something we can open up, share, and learn from our colleagues in the Middle East too.' As the UK and Saudi markets grow, sustaining creative excellence requires ongoing collaboration and dedication. This year, UK Advertising returns to Saudi Arabia as a partner of the Athar Festival, bringing more than 20 senior UK leaders. This reflects a strategic commitment, not just a delegation visit, to deepen partnerships, foster shared learning, empower emerging talent, and support the Kingdom's vision for a world class creative economy. We look forward to unveiling initiatives that showcase creativity's measurable impact both culturally and commercially. From my perspective as International Director for UK Advertising, this partnership offers a unique opportunity to bridge talent and knowledge between our markets. Our focus is on building long-term capability and confidence on both sides, ensuring creatives and marketers have the platforms and mentorship needed to thrive. This positions UK Advertising not only as a global creative hub but as a committed partner in the Kingdom's journey toward creative excellence. Creativity's return on investment is clear. Beyond elevating brands, it is essential for attracting and retaining top talent. In a competitive global market, investing in creativity shows ambition and a commitment to innovation and sustainable growth. It builds cultures where talent thrives, brands connect meaningfully with audiences, and industries evolve resiliently. The roundtable ended not with answers, but with alignment. Across both markets, there is a shared belief that creativity is most powerful when it is inclusive and forward-thinking, driving real business and cultural impact. Looking ahead to the Athar Festival, I'm optimistic about what we can build: not just stories, but stories that matter. My Honest Take on the Sonos Era 300 (White): Why It's a Must for Every Home
If you're anything like me, sound matters. Not just music, but how it fills your space, how it makes you feel, how it turns an ordinary evening into something a little more alive. That's exactly what the Sonos Era 300 in white has done for me—and I'm here to tell you, without exaggeration, that it's one of the best additions I've made to my home in years. Let me say this upfront: I've tried a lot of speakers. Some boomed, others crackled, and most just… sounded fine. The Sonos Era 300? It doesn't just play music—it transforms how music is experienced. And there's something about the white finish that feels clean, elegant, and timeless. It blends beautifully with my interior—like it belongs, not like it's trying too hard. Unboxing and First Impressions When the box arrived, even the packaging felt premium. Sonos clearly puts care into the first impression, and rightly so. The white Era 300 is a statement piece—it looks modern and sculptural without being over-designed. It has this subtly futuristic design that doesn't scream 'tech,' which I love. Minimal, curved, with smooth lines and a seamless build. The matte white gives it a kind of Scandinavian design vibe—neutral, fresh, and fitting whether you're in a sleek apartment or a cozy family home. I placed it in my living room on a shelf and immediately felt like it elevated the space. That was even before I turned it on. Setting It Up Setup was a breeze. If you're already in the Sonos ecosystem, you'll appreciate how intuitive the app is. But even if you're new to Sonos, the onboarding is smooth and well-guided. Within minutes, the Era 300 was connected to my Wi-Fi, synced with my services, and ready to go. I use Apple Music and Spotify, both of which integrate beautifully. One tap on the app, and it was go time. Spatial Audio = Game Changer Let's talk about what makes the Era 300 truly unique —its support for spatial audio. I didn't really understand the hype until I experienced it. Sonos built this speaker to project sound in every direction, left, right, forward, and up. You literally feel like you're sitting inside the music. It's not a gimmick—it's a different level of listening. When I played 'As It Was' by Harry Styles in Dolby Atmos, I felt like I was in the studio with him. The vocals hovered mid-room, the guitar strummed off to the side, and somehow the drums sounded like they were coming from above. It wasn't just louder or clearer. It was immersive. This is what separates the Era 300 from almost any other wireless speaker in its class. It's not just about volume or bass (though it nails both). It's about depth and dimensionality. I've had friends over who literally stopped mid-conversation to ask what speaker I was using. Room-Filling Sound That Adapts What also impressed me is how the Era 300 automatically adjusts its sound depending on where you place it. I tested this. I moved it closer to a corner—less than ideal placement—and it compensated brilliantly using Sonos's Trueplay technology. The sound remained balanced, natural, and full. No harsh reflections. No muffled tones. Just crystal-clear audio. Whether you're watching a movie, playing classical piano, or blasting electronic beats—the Era 300 handles it all. Voice Control and Connectivity I use Alexa at home, and the Era 300 has built-in voice assistants —Alexa and Sonos Voice Control. This means I can change songs, adjust volume, or play a playlist just by saying a few words. It responds quickly and accurately. For someone like me, who's usually cooking, working, or chasing after kids, that hands-free convenience is a game changer. You can also stream directly via Bluetooth, which wasn't available in older Sonos models. That's huge for guests who want to share music quickly. The inclusion of USB-C line-in also means you can connect a turntable or CD player if you're feeling nostalgic. Why Every Home Needs It Now, why do I believe every home should have the Sonos Era 300? 1. It replaces the need for multiple devices. Before this, I had a Bluetooth speaker in one room, a soundbar in another, and a smart speaker in the kitchen. The Era 300 can hold its own in any of those roles—music, movies, podcasts, background noise, you name it. 2. It brings people together. Music is social. It's emotional. It's about moments. Whether it's background music for a dinner party or a Friday night dance session with my kids, the Era 300 becomes part of the moment. 3. It grows with you. Already thinking about getting another one for stereo pairing. And when paired with a Sonos Arc or Beam and subwoofer, it becomes part of a true home theater setup. This thing is future-proof. 4. It's elegant, inside and out. Let's not ignore the aesthetics. The white color is understated luxury. It complements neutral tones, wooden furniture, minimal or maximalist styles. It's a piece of decor as much as a speaker. 5. It's eco-conscious. Sonos has started to take sustainability seriously. The Era 300 uses recycled materials and is designed to be more energy efficient. That matters to me, and probably to most people trying to be more conscious about their purchases. Final Thoughts & My Recommendation After a few weeks of living with the Sonos Era 300, I don't see myself going back. It's one of those rare devices that quietly upgrades your life in the background. You don't realize how much you need it until you have it. And once you do, you start finding excuses to use it more. Music sounds better. Mornings feel smoother. Dinners are warmer. Even movie nights have an extra layer of magic. If you've been on the fence about upgrading your home audio, stop hesitating. Go for the white Sonos Era 300. It looks stunning, sounds even better, and brings soul back to your space. Trust me—you won't regret it. You can purchase the SONOS Era 300 speakers in White or Black directly from the SONOS website or through various e-commerce platforms. The ERA 300 speaker is priced at AED 2,099.
