Brooklyn Beckham 'snubs sister Harper' in latest heartbreaking signal to family

The Beckham clan is gearing up for another round of celebrations, yet it seems one member may be conspicuously absent from the merrymaking. As Harper Beckham, the youngest of David and Victoria's brood, looks forward to her 14th birthday on Thursday, whispers suggest that Brooklyn might once again be a no-show amid escalating family tensions.
Rumblings of discord between Brooklyn, his wife Nicola Peltz, and his famous parents began to surface in 2022 around the time of his lavish nuptials with Nicola – and the rift appears to be far from healing. Recently, 26 year old Brooklyn was spotted revelling in the birthday festivities of Nicola's wealthy father, whom she dubbed "most loving father", shortly after skipping his own father's glitzy 50th celebration at Core, a posh Notting Hill eatery.
A source close to the family has indicated that the ongoing feud, primarily involving Brooklyn and his parents, has unfortunately drawn in his younger siblings, including the soon-to-be birthday girl Harper.

"Harper's been particularly affected by what's going on because she's always been really close to Brooklyn," the source disclosed. "They've always had a lovely bond because Brooklyn was that bit older when Harper was born and the hope when Brooklyn married Nicola was that she'd become like a big sister to Harper in a house full of brothers.
"But obviously that hasn't happened and it's potentially going to be heartbreaking for Harper if Brooklyn doesn't show up for her on her birthday.", reports the Mirror.
Whilst Brooklyn and his model-actress spouse were marking financier Nelson Peltz's 83rd birthday alongside Nicola's relatives in Bedford, New York, Victoria, 51, and David, 50, remained at their UK residence.

Nicola, 30, subsequently shared a photograph on social media featuring herself with her father and Brooklyn, penning an affectionate message to Nelson: "I am so lucky to be your daughter, you're the most loving and supportive father I could ever dream of... Thank you for always being there for us – our constant love and support."
Should Brooklyn neglect to mark his younger sister's birthday in any meaningful manner, it would represent the latest family occasion that has failed to mend the Beckham family divide.
Following his absence from David's pre-birthday festivities in the Cotswolds and Paris, Brooklyn and Nicola were also nowhere to be seen at his celebrity-packed dinner gathering at the Michelin-starred west London eatery.
David was accompanied by his dearest entertainment industry friends, including Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria and Guy Ritchie, and enjoyed a guitar performance from son Cruz, 20, whilst Romeo, 22, was given the responsibility of presenting David's birthday cake.
Considering Brooklyn also neglected to recognise his father's significant milestone across any of his social media platforms, our source suggested the likelihood of him "showing up for Harper" appears rather doubtful. A source has revealed that teenage birthdays are a significant event for any youngster, and historically the family has celebrated together.
"Victoria would like nothing more than for Brooklyn to show up to celebrate with them all, but it's not looking likely at all."
The insider added that Brooklyn's absence from his father's 50th birthday suggests he won't make an exception for Harper's birthday, despite his affection for her. "He took a stand and missed his dad's 50th so he's not likely to suddenly do a U-turn and forget everything that's happened, as much as he loves Harper. But if he did, it could a much-needed olive branch to start repairing things. An end to the family drama would be the best birthday present Harper – and her parents – could ask for."
Despite the warm vibes on the Beckhams' social media, Brooklyn hasn't shown any public affection towards his parents. His decision to post a tribute to Nelson after overlooking his father's birthday seemed to deepen the rift.
Brooklyn also celebrated the five-year milestone since proposing to Nicola last month, calling it his "best decision ever". The source suggested that Brooklyn's allegiance seems to have shifted away from his family, which isn't shocking considering his marital status.
"He didn't want it to turn out this way and he's always been really close to all his siblings, but he is a married man now and his priorities have to lie somewhere else," the source explained.
"He just doesn't feel his family have treated Nicola well and now that he's grown so close to her family in the States, he doesn't really feel like he fits into the Beckham family right now. If Harper's wish is to have her brother at home for her big day, sadly, she's probably going to be disappointed."

Wayne Rooney set to become BBC Match of the Day pundit

The beloved BBC sports show will be very different for the upcoming season, after the departure of former host Gary Lineker last year. Lineker, who presented the show from 1999 until 2025, left following the conclusion of the 2024–25 Premier League season. Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan will host Match of the Day from the start of the 2025-26 season, and a new star pundit will also feature. Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is set to join the team on the BBC show as a pundit for the new season, according to reports. A source told The Sun: 'Wayne is a natural broadcaster; he is warm, witty and forensically knowledgeable about all aspects of the game. 'He still has a deep love for football and also gets on well with everyone on both sides of the camera. 'He is eminently likeable, and has impressed on his outings to date - viewers have also really taken to him, which has been clear from social media commentary. 'Wayne will be a key part of next year's World Cup coverage, which is a massive coup, and will provide some much-needed expertise on Match of the Day in the wake of Gary's departure. For Wayne Rooney, penalties were all in the practice 🎯#BBCFootball #MOTD2 "Everyone, including Director of Sport Alex Kay-Jelski, is incredibly excited to get him on board. It's a great signing.' Rooney made over 550 appearances for Manchester United, and more than 100 for England. He will join a team that already includes names such as Alan Shearer, Micah Richards, and Alex Scott. The BBC revealed earlier this year that Match of the Day will now be presented by Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan. It came after Gary Lineker stepped down from presenting the show. It will mark the first time the role of lead presenter across both Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2, and the latest addition to the BBC's football highlights portfolio, Match of the Day Champions League, will be shared by three presenters. A post shared by BBC SPORT (@bbcsport) Kelly is from Glasgow and is the daughter of former Scotland and Liverpool footballer Sir Kenny Dalglish. She is currently a Sky Sports presenter and also presents BBC Radio 5 Live's Tuesday night sports coverage. Mark is a veteran at the BBC, having first joined as a continuity announcer in 1996. Since 2013, the 51-year-old has been a regular host of Match of the Day 2, but has also hosted Sky Sports' live coverage of the Carabao Cup. He has also worked in the NFL, cricket, rugby league and golf, and fronted the BBC's coverage of the recent Olympic Games in Paris. Former gymnast Gabby Logan is the daughter of Welsh footballer Terry Yorath. Recommended reading: Who are the new Match of the Day hosts? All to know about the 3 BBC presenters She first joined Sky Sports in 1996 before going to work at ITV, before leaving to present Inside Sport at the BBC, which she joined in 2007. Many will also know her from her role as co-presenter of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

BBC star announces death of dad and shares final moments

BBC star Nina Warhurst has shared the poignant loss of her father in a heartfelt tribute, revealing his battle with dementia. The 44 year old journalist, who anchors BBC's News at One live from Salford, took to Instagram on Sunday (July 6) to announce the sombre news to her 46.7k followers, posting an evocative black and white image of her clasping her dad's hand. In a deeply moving message, she recounted their final moments together, filled with emotion and family memories. "My Dad died on Wednesday night," she wrote. "From Sunday me, my Mum and sisters spent precious time with him around the crying, laughing, sharing memories. "On his last day we had nursing home afternoon tea, chippy chips and wine together," reports the Manchester Evening News. "He drifted away gently with me and Amy holding him and telling him to "go head. We'll see you there soon. And he did. I had my hand on his heart as the ripples softened and stopped. "A gentle end to a gentle life. So much love and laughter and sunshine across days I'll never forget." Nina reflected further: "He is in my mind all the time now as we adjust to a world without him in it. I can't quite accept that's real yet. But we think it's really important for anyone going through this to know that the end can be peaceful and beautiful. "Kim, Daniel, Anna, Moody, Charlotte, Clara, Eddie, Obi, Sarah, Kat, Michael, Colin, Dorothy, Helen, Gracie and all the care home staff and residents who welcomed us in to their world and made it our home for those days and nights we can't thank you enough." Nina received an outpouring of support from her followers, as well as friends and family, in the comments section. Her sister Amy commented: "It was beautiful. Aren't we lucky? Love you Nines x." A follower shared their empathy, saying: "Nina, I'm so sorry. My mum had Alzheimer's and died in similar circumstances with us all around her. He will always be with you. I will never forget the kindness of the care home staff to the whole family, looking after all of us throughout my mum's illness. They really do not get enough credit for what they do. Take care of yourself and your family." Another sympathised: "Oh Nina I'm so sorry for your loss. You gave him a beautiful send off and were with him as he passed and that means so much. Thinking of you and all the family so much xxx."
