BBC star announces death of dad and shares final moments
In a deeply moving message, she recounted their final moments together, filled with emotion and family memories.
"My Dad died on Wednesday night," she wrote. "From Sunday me, my Mum and sisters spent precious time with him around the clock....singing, crying, laughing, sharing memories.
"On his last day we had nursing home afternoon tea, chippy chips and wine together," reports the Manchester Evening News.
"He drifted away gently with me and Amy holding him and telling him to "go head. We'll see you there soon. And he did. I had my hand on his heart as the ripples softened and stopped.
"A gentle end to a gentle life. So much love and laughter and sunshine across days I'll never forget."
Nina reflected further: "He is in my mind all the time now as we adjust to a world without him in it. I can't quite accept that's real yet. But we think it's really important for anyone going through this to know that the end can be peaceful and beautiful.
"Kim, Daniel, Anna, Moody, Charlotte, Clara, Eddie, Obi, Sarah, Kat, Michael, Colin, Dorothy, Helen, Gracie and all the care home staff and residents who welcomed us in to their world and made it our home for those days and nights we can't thank you enough."
Nina received an outpouring of support from her followers, as well as friends and family, in the comments section. Her sister Amy commented: "It was beautiful. Aren't we lucky? Love you Nines x."
A follower shared their empathy, saying: "Nina, I'm so sorry. My mum had Alzheimer's and died in similar circumstances with us all around her. He will always be with you. I will never forget the kindness of the care home staff to the whole family, looking after all of us throughout my mum's illness. They really do not get enough credit for what they do. Take care of yourself and your family."
Another sympathised: "Oh Nina I'm so sorry for your loss. You gave him a beautiful send off and were with him as he passed and that means so much. Thinking of you and all the family so much xxx."

Gary Lineker 'didn't have the balls' to tell Anthony Joshua off at Wimbledon
Gary Lineker has opened up on an awkward encounter with Anthony Joshua at Wimbledon earlier this month, with the boxing icon leaving the football pundit in a touch of discomfort for around seven hours Gary Lineker has shared a humorous yet painful experience from his time at Wimbledon, sitting next to former heavyweight boxing champ Anthony Joshua. The former footballer, who recently bid farewell to the BBC, was enjoying the tennis action with his son, Angus, but things got a little uncomfortable due to Joshua's impressive stature. Speaking on The Rest Is Football with Alan Shearer, Micah Richards and Alex Aljoe, Lineker said: "I went to Wimbledon the other day. I just want to thank Wimbledon for inviting me, it was lovely. I took my youngest, Angus, and we sat next to Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn and we had a laugh watching some great tennis." Richards then chimed in, saying: "Can I just say, you were looking marvellous," leading Shearer to quip: "Micah, he was looking marvellous until you looked to his left and saw Anthony Joshua," which set off a round of laughter. Lineker then continued with his tale, explaining the seating arrangement with Joshua, adding: "I was sitting in the seats next to Anthony, and he's obviously huge. His legs... and the only way he sits, because there wasn't enough room, was he had his legs wide open. "And I was forced, for like seven hours, whatever it was, to put my legs to the... it got to the stage where I was getting cramp in my inside thigh so badly. And the game was going on and I wanted to shout. "But I never had the balls, at any point, to tell him, 'Will you f***ing move your legs over a little bit, give me some room?' Absolutely true. But he's a lovely, lovely guy and I had a laugh with him. And they were great company for the afternoon." Injecting more wit into the story, Richards said: "Angus is a good-looking boy as well though, isn't he? Angus was looking cool, he was," which prompted a deadpan Shearer to say: "He's got his mum's looks, obviously," setting off more laughter. It marks Lineker's first time back at a BBC event since his departure from Match of the Day and the organisation in May. Lineker previously said that the 2024/25 season would mark his final stint on the BBC's leading football highlights programme, even though he intended to remain involved in FA Cup and 2026 World Cup broadcasts. Yet, plans changed when Lineker became entangled in a controversy concerning anti-Semitism on social media, after sharing a post concerning Zionism that depicted a rat - a symbol historically utilised for anti-Semitic purposes by Nazi Germany. Lineker later admitted that while he hadn't noticed the emoji, he should have taken greater care before sharing the content, concluding that ending ties with the BBC was the appropriate decision. In an emotional statement at the time, he said: " Football has been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember - both on the pitch and in the studio. "I care deeply about the game, and about the work I've done with the BBC over many years. As I've said, I would never consciously repost anything anti-Semitic - it goes against everything I stand for. "However, I recognise the error and upset that I caused, and reiterate how sorry I am. Stepping back now feels like the responsible course of action."

Amanda Holden bares her bum as she recreates iconic tennis pose
Amanda Holden looked ace as she sizzled in the sun as she brought he own take on the famous Tennis Girl image after taking a quick tennis-inspired trip to Majorca Cheeky Amanda Holden served up a tennis treat as the age-defying TV and radio star gets ready for the second week of Wimbledon. The 54-year-old Britain's Got Talent recreated the famous Tennis Girl poster as she appeared to brush off recent Ofcom complaints over her daring wardrobe on the ITV show. She showed off some skin as she lifted up part of her pink skirt under the sun in Majorca during a photoshoot. Her snap, already liked by over 40,000 fans on Instagram alone, saw the star on court as she promoted Revive Collagen. She captioned the upload: "Cheeky? Are you enjoying Wimbledon?" Some of the stars to give her some love were Piers Morgan and Scarlett Moffatt. The legendary Tennis Girl image was captured by photographer Martin Elliott and it featured his then girlfriend, 18-year-old Fiona Butler, back in 1976. Athena sold more than two million copies - but the model, who went on to become a mother of three and freelance illustrator, did not receive any royalties. She said: "I was very naive and was paid nothing, and I think it's the biggest-selling poster ever. My mother has a very faded copy in what used to be my father's study and I just have it in the form of a very small postcard." Ms Walker was not a keen tennis player and borrowed her tennis dress from a "friend of a friend", her father's plimsolls, and used "the dog's" tennis balls for the image. Meanwhile, Jamie Theakston says Amanda has been a 'key part' of his recovery following a battle with stage one laryngeal cancer, which he was given the all clear for in January. The Heart Breakfast presenter, 54, told Mirror: "Amanda has been fantastic, she's been a part of my recovery. So, yeah, it has brought us closer as friends." Jamie was diagnosed with stage one laryngeal cancer back in September 2024 after listeners noticed a difference in his voice - initially putting it down to a mere sore throat. The broadcaster has since undergone three surgeries and revealed in January that he was cancer free. And giving an update on how he's feeling now, five months after getting the all clear and returning to work, Jamie said: "I'm feeling great, my family are all really great too." Jamie shares children Sidney, 17, and Kit, 16, with his wife of almost two decades Sophie Siegle, with the presenter admitting that his family are all 'relieved' and happy to have him back in healthy form. While Jamie and Amanda may be tight-knit friends, he revealed that the early morning wake up calls don't always have them on the right side of the bed. "We can be moody sometimes," he laughed. "But we just argue it out on air and then it's fine! "I personally celebrate my 20th year [on Heart] this year - I was only meant to do two! So I don't quite understand how that happened, but, no, I love it, I love going in every day. It's a great job. Here's to twenty more." Amanda is no stranger to showing off her incredible figure. She sent fans wild last month as she stripped down to a tiny pink bikini as she enjoyed the sunshine. Matching pink heels to strut around a swimming pool on the Spanish holiday island of Majorca, she was quick to let everyone know she was having a great time. And fans couldn't quite believe what they were seeing, as one wrote in the comments: "Imagine being in your 50's and looking that good in a bikini," as another replied: "Right?" As many more posted heart and flame emojis, a third said: "Looking fabulous!!!" A fourth declared her "perfection", as a fifth commented "what a body." A sixth joked: "Look amazing, wish I could walk in those shoes!" Her celebrity pals were equally in awe. Ex-EastEnders' star Jo Joyner wrote: "You're ridiculously hot" followed by a flame emoji. "There she is," said former The Only Way Is Essex star Sam Faiers. Vicky Pattinson simply wrote: "AMANDA!!!!" with four flame emojis. While her Heart FM co-star, former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts commented: "Jheeez."
