Celebrity Big Brother's Jack P Shepherd reveals the VERY quirky thing Coronation Street icon Bill Roache does to him

Daily Mail23-04-2025
Celebrity Big Brother star Jack P Shepherd had his fellow housemates in hysterics on Tuesday night as he revealed Coronation Street 's Bill Roache still calls him by his screen name despite working together for 25 years.
The soap favourite, 37, regaled his pals on the ITV reality show with tales from Weatherfield, shedding light on his friendship with Bill, who plays Ken Barlow in Corrie.
Relaxing on Donna Preston's bed and chatting with EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, Chesney Hawkes and Angellica Bell, Jack said: 'Ken is 93.'
When asked how long his colleague had been on Coronation Street, he added: '65 years.'
The revelation that actor Bill had starred on the soap for more than six decades, making him the longest-running cast memeber on Corrie, was greeted by general amazement from Jack's fellow CBB contestants.
'While I've been in here, he could be dead,' he quipped.
Donna, who was a one-time Coronation Street co-star, replied, 'Jesus christ Jack,' while Patsy added, 'You would find out.'
'Nooo, why would I find out?' Jack said.
Singer Chesney responded: 'You've been working with him for 25 years.'
At this point, Jack, who plays David Platt on Coronation Street, dropped a bombshell about his relationship with his fellow cast member.
'Yeah but that doesn't matter,' he said. 'I've known him for 25 years, he still calls me f***ing David.
'Yeah he calls me David. He sees me in the corridor and I go, "morning Bill", and he goes "ahhhh David".'
'Well he is 93,' Chesney added agreeably.
This was not entrirely true given Bill is still 92, until he celebrates his big birthday on Friday.
Fans took to X to express their amusement at Jack's comments and general lack of optimism for his colleague's life expectancy.

'finding out ken barlow calls jack david is so funny #bbuk'
'Ken Barlow calls him DAVID is brilliant #CBBUK'
'NO WAY is ken barlow 93 #CBBUK'
'Jack saying the time period between him entering and leaving the house Ken Barlow could be dead has absolutely finished me off #CBBUK'
Jack is into the final of this year's CBB, along with Danny Beard, JoJo Siwa, Chris Hughes, Chesney and Donna.
The former Corrie star revealed last week he was involved in a terrifying near-fatal car accident.
He said: 'I had a big car accident on M62. Yeah, just getting onto the slip road at M62, I f**king skidded, spinned, and went through a barrier, and I was hanging over a bridge on the M62.
'The car was a f**king Italian job.'
He made a full recovery but his fellow house mates appeared very shocked by the car accident revelation.
Angellica was the first of three celebrities to be kicked out on Triple Tuesday - followed by TOWIE's Ella Rae Wise and EastEnders actress Patsy.

The star previously faced backlash when she made her debut on the flagship ITV daytime magazine programme. Olivia Attwood's Career History From Monster grid girl and Love Island star to daytime telly panellist and respected documentary maker, Olivia Attwood has made a huge career pivot in recent years... Olivia first started as a Monster grid girl at motorsport events in 2012 when she was 19-years-old, and did it right up until she went into Love Island in 2017. After placing third in the reality show with then-boyfriend Chris Hughes, she starred in their own spin-off series, Chris & Olivia: Crackin' On, in 2018. Later that year, she appeared on Celebs Go Dating and then joined the cast of The Only Way Is Essex in 2019, where she had a number of fiery on-screen rows. In 2020, the reality TV veteran began starring in her own reality series on ITVBe titled Olivia Meets Her Match, which followed her wedding preparations with footballer Bradley Dack. In 2021, the tide started to turn. Olivia made appearances on household shows Lorraine, Tipping Point: Lucky Stars and Loose Women. Then, in 2022, ITV commissioned her for her first ever documentary series. She presented Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich, which explored women selling sexual content online. In June 2023, ITV commissioned Olivia Marries Her Match and made her a regular guest panellist on Loose Women. Her most recent docu-series, Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection, aired in January this year where she sensitively explored the cosmetic industry. Her reality background didn't go down well with some of the more traditionalist viewers, who vowed to switch off. Olivia clapped back at the trolls who shared their dismay with her appointment in the role, as she insisted "there's much more to me." Her colleague Josie Gibson, 40, who is a regular presenter on This Morning, later defended Olivia, saying she's 'brilliant' in the role. She told The Sun: "Oh my God she's brilliant. It's brilliant she gets to do this and I think she's really good. Yeah, really good. Those who know me understand the hard work I've put in to get where I am today. Olivia Attwood "Honestly, you get some backlash like that in this industry and I really don't know why people do it." The former Big Brother star added: "I'll never understand why people do it, you know. To me, I've always loved to see people do well and I genuinely love it. Richard Ayoade bested by tricky Celebrity Catchphrase puzzle and misses out on huge jackpot - but can YOU solve it within the time limit?

Richard Ayoade was outwitted by tricky a Celebrity Catchphrase puzzle and missed out on a huge jackpot - but can you solve it within the time limit? In an old clip of the ITV programme, which aired back in 2021, the funnyman, 48, Katie McGlynn, 32, and Joe Swash, 43, took part in the quiz show to try and raise some cash for his chosen charity. ITV's synopsis of the show reads: 'Watch contestants attempt to identify a familiar catchphrase via an animation.' Richard did well during his stint on the show and even made it to the final round. But one catchphrase in particular proved very difficult for him to answer. The comedian was shown a graphic of three whales riding some waves in the sea. In an old clip of the ITV programme, which aired back in 2021, the funnyman, 48, Katie McGlynn , 32, and Joe Swash , 43, took part in the quiz show to try and raise some cash for his chosen charity They were also in order of size, with the one on the left being the biggest, followed by the second and the third was the smallest. The animals all had crowns on their heads and a red arrow was pointing towards the smallest. Richard asked host Stephen Mulhern: 'Royal whales? Whale crown? Oh... Royal mist? Spray? Whale spray? Royal whale? I don't know...' The countdown was getting closer to one and he said: 'Prince of...' But his time was up. Stephen told him: 'I think you were about to say it! That's the worst of it... 'Prince of Wales!' Richard shot to fame in the early 2000s. The star is arguably best known for playing Maurice Moss in Channel 4's sitcom The IT Crowd. He played the character between 2006 and 2013. But he's also appeared in various other comedy shows including The Mighty Boosh, Nathan Barley and has also been on the panel for the likes of Was It Something I Said and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year. The actor has starred in numerous TV shows such as Strange Hill High, Travel Man, Apple & Onion and Code 404. He's also written and directed a number including Submarine, The Double, and Man to Man with Dean Learner. Richard has directed music videos for Artic Monkeys, Kasabian and Vampire Weekend. It comes after a Celebrity Catchphrase caught out a Derry Girls legend in the final round - but can you solve the riddle that stumped her? In a 2023 episode, Derry Girls star Siobhán McSweeney, 45, who played the no-nonsense Sister Michael in the Channel 4 comedy, took on the guessing game in the hopes of raising money for charity. Going head-to-head with EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks and Coronation Street's Jimmi Harkishin (aka Dev Alahan), Siobhán sailed through to the final round. In the animated scene, three people are working out. Two appear to be doing just fine - but the third is clearly struggling with bicep curls and looks miserable. On the floor in front of them? A triangle, a square, and a circle. Despite her valiant efforts, Siobhán didn't solve it in time. But she still walked away a winner - scooping £25,000 in the final round, on top of the £4,500 she'd already earned. That meant a total of £29,500 went to her chosen charity, The Maya Centre in North London, which provides counselling and holistic support to low-income and minoritised women.
