A 'breathtaking', action-packed sci-fi movie is finally coming to Netflix, 23 years after it was first released.
Minority Report was released in 2002, helmed by Steven Spielberg and based on the novel of the same name by Philip K Dick.
The futuristic film transported viewers to 2054, and was set in a world where police had psychic technology and were able to arrest people for crimes before they happened.
Tom Cruise starred as Precrime chief John Anderton who led the department, but found himself on the wrong side of the department when he was accused of a crime he hadn't committed yet.
The Mission: Impossible icon was joined in the cast by Colin Farrell, Samanta Morton, Patrick Kilpatrick and Max von Sydow.
Minority Report is being added to the streaming platform on July 1, meaning a new batch of fans will be able to watch on in terror as John goes on the run, desperate to clear his name.
The dystopian flick currently boasts a Rotten Tomatoes score of 89% from critics, compared to 80% from the audience.
An anonymous fan penned: 'This movie was awesome. It had an incredibly unique idea that was so much fun to watch unfold. Plenty of twists and turns. A perfect sci-fi movie.'
'Probably my favorite Tom Cruise movie! It had such an original plot and a great story line! Definitely a bit sci-fi-ish, but really well done,' Jeremy L said.
'This movie was amazing and way ahead of its time,' an unnamed fan said. 'I was very impressed. Tom Cruise had an incredible performance.
'The story was unique and captivating. Very thought provoking. All the future tech displayed in this movie is still impressive today in 2020 even to a seasoned Sci-Fi fan. A must see film, one of the best Sci-Fi movies out there.'
Daniel W raved: 'On the short list of my all-time favorite movies, Minority Report is the rare film that has everything: breathtaking action and suspense, philosophical and ethical dilemmas, real emotion and well-placed plot twists.
'In fact, it has so much going on that it might have gone off the rails in lesser hands; but Spielberg's veteran direction shapes it into a masterpiece.'
The official synopsis reads: 'In a near future where murders can be seen before they happen, the head of the Precrime unit goes on the run when he's accused of an imminent homicide.' More Trending
Minority Report was released more than two decades ago, and made more than $225million at the global box office.
It spawned a spin-off prequel series on Fox in 2015, with Stark Sands, Wilmer Valderrama, Meagan Good, Nick Zano and Daniel London in the cast.
However, the program wasn't as successful as the blockbuster, and was axed after one season.

Squid Game season three breaks Netflix viewership record

The third and final season of hit Korean series Squid Game has broken records to achieve the biggest ever TV launch for Netflix. Over its first three days, there have been over 60.1m views, a new high for the streamer with over 368.4m hours viewed. The second season launched with 68m views but over a four-day period last December. It has already become the ninth biggest non-English language season ever with the first and second seasons occupying the top two slots. Reviews have been mixed to positive with the Guardian's Rebecca Nicholson calling it 'nowhere near as pointed as it was' in previous seasons. While this has been called the final season, David Fincher has been rumoured to be developing an English language remake for the streamer. The director has worked with Netflix before on political drama series House of Cards, film industry biopic Mank and Michael Fassbender action thriller The Killer. Earlier this year, it was announced that he would work with them once again to direct a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood based on a script by Quentin Tarantino. The streamer has already found success with competition spin-off Squid Game: The Challenge with a second season on the way. When asked about future Squid Game projects, series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told Variety that he hadn't heard anything official yet about a remake. 'If they wanted to do a following season, then I think it's obvious I would have to participate and lead,' he said. 'But if it's the US version that they're making, I think sharing of ideas would be enough. I have no intention of being completely hands-on in a project like that. Having said that, if Netflix asks and if I feel like my contribution is needed, then as long as it's not something that would interfere with whatever I'm working on at that time, I would be happy to provide what they need from me.'

Netflix viewers distraught after shock removal announcement of 'one of the best shows ever released'

Netflix is set to remove one of its most popular foreign shows this month and fans aren't happy about it. The French comedy-drama Call My Agent! will officially depart the streaming service on July 22. The beloved series depicts a group of talent agents at a Paris-based agency - focusing on their relationships with their actor clients, who are played by real-life celebrities. Some of the celebrity stars have included Juliette Binoche, Sigourney Weaver, and Isabelle Huppert. Call My Agent! was an instant hit when it premiered on French television in late 2015, but it didn't become a global sensation until the Covid pandemic. Viewers soon named it one of the best Netflix shows of all time, with the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman counting themselves as loyal fans of the series. 'It's a love letter to the business, to the relationships between actors, artists,' Weaver told Variety. 'It goes behind the scenes to show the problems of actors in dealing with different directors and mood scenes, cosmetic surgery and all these situations that come up in a very humorous way that no other show does,' she continued. 'And it has a lot of affection for the business and for the job of being an agent. The agents in the series are very passionate about their clients. It's very inspiring.' A British version was released in 2022 titled Ten Percent, but was canceled after one season. Other international versions came from Turkey, South Korea, India, Italy, Indonesia, and more. The fourth and final season of Call My Agent! was released in 2020, but a fifth season and a feature-length film were both announced back in 2021. Fans have been distraught since news of Call My Agent! exiting Netflix was announced, with many taking to social media to express their disappointment. 'Ummm… why is Call My Agent leaving Netflix?! 'We're still waiting for the fifth season and 90-minute film that we were promised in 2021,' wrote one. 'Oh no! I enjoyed re-watching this every year on Netflix,' wrote a second. The popular series depicts a group of talent agents at a Paris-based agency and their relationships with their actor clients, who are played by real-life celebrities It comes after Netflix dumped a huge amount of popular shows and movies throughout the month of June. Batman Begins (2005) was cut, as well as its sequels The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Children's favorites including Alvinnn!!! And The Chipmunks and Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom also left the streamer. Meanwhile, horror fans had to say goodbye to Cult of Chucky and Ma.
