Joe Rogan was called out on a recent podcast after Amy Poehler briefly knocked him off the top spot on Spotify.
The Context
Poehler launched her podcast called Good Hang with Amy Poehler in March 2025. According to the "About" section on Spotify, the former Saturday Night Live star, 53, will "welcome celebrities and fun people to her studio" each week.
"They'll share stories about their careers, mutual friends, shared enthusiasms, and most importantly, what's been making them laugh. This podcast is not about trying to make you better or giving advice. Amy just wants to have a good time."
Meanwhile, Rogan's The Joe Rogan Experience is one of the most popular podcasts in the world. The former Fear Factor host, 57, has interviewed a wide range of people since its launch in 2009—some of whom are controversial—including scientists, politicians and comedians. For years, he's largely remained at the top of Spotify's podcast charts.

What To Know
Last month, Rogan was dethroned from number one on Spotify by Poehler, who at that point had only released two episodes of Good Hang. For its debut, the Parks and Recreation actress shared two episodes with fans—one with Mean Girls costar Tina Fey and the other with Only Murders in the Building star Martin Short.
Poehler was interviewed by comedian Matt Rogers and Wicked's Bowen Yang on their podcast, Las Culturistas, which dropped on Wednesday, and the cohosts took a jab at Rogan following news of his tumble.
"This is a big day, Bo," Rogers said, referring to their conversation with Poehler.
"She's already podcasting royalty," Yang said, as Rogers shared, "Number one in the land."
"Not even a month into the game, and she's number one in the land," Yang continued. "Good Hang on Spotify."
"Hey, Joe Rogan, shut up," Rogers added while the camera cut to Poehler silently nodding and appearing to place her hands in prayer.
"Cool it," Rogers said, to which Bowen echoed, "Cool it."
Newsweek reached out to Rogan's representative via email for comment.
What People Are Saying
The New York Times reported on Monday that "Spotify has paid more than $100 million to podcast publishers and creators since January."
The Spotify News Instagram account shared the announcement, too, with Rich Habits podcast host Austin Hankwitz replying, "Grateful to be part of that $100M!"
What Happens Next
Today, Rogan is back in the top slot on Spotify's podcast charts in countries like the United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and Canada.
Spotify has said that the charts get updated daily. Time will tell, however, if Poehler's podcast will rival Rogan's success.
Currently, Good Hang boasts a 4.9 rating on Spotify with over 3,800 reviews, and on Apple Podcasts, it has a 4.7 rating with 111 reviews.

Bowen Yang jokes about replacing 'Weekend Update' stars Colin Jost, Michael Che on 'SNL'
Bowen Yang had an update this week: He wants to bring "Las Culturistas" to "Saturday Night Live" – and replace his "Weekend Update" costars. The "SNL" cast member joked with his podcast cohost Matt Rogers on the July 29 episode of "Hot Ones Versus" that he wanted to get rid of Colin Jost and Michael Che – mock news anchors on the NBC sketch series – who have hosted "Update" together since the Season 40 premiere in 2014. During the "Hot Ones" segment, Rogers pointed out "trauma" and brought up that "we both auditioned for 'SNL,' and only you were asked to join," before asking Yang, "If you could have me replace any current 'SNL' cast, who would it be?" 'SNL50' didn't do justice to the past 50 years of comedy: Review "If I could have you replace any current cast member," Yang repeated back, before Rogers quipped about the newest "SNL" breakout star, "Doesn't Marcello (Hernandez) have enough? I think he's going to be fine." Hernandez, the show's first Gen Z cast member, boasts over 4 million followers on TikTok and Instagram. Yang finally revealed his pick, telling Rogers that "I love Marcello so much" and admitted that "I'm going to give (Michael) Che and Colin (Jost) the chop so that you and I can do '(Weekend) Update' together." Stephen Colbert inquires about a new gig after 'Late Show' cancellation "I love that, I think we'd be great at 'Update.' We'd give a new fresh take," Rogers added. Yang and Rogers' popular comedy podcast "Las Culturistas" has become a pop culture sensation over the past decade. Since 2016, the pair have risen to podcasting superstardom with their celebrity interviews and discussions of pop culture. Recent guests include former first lady Michelle Obama, her brother Craig Robinson, "SNL" alum Amy Poehler, pop star Chappell Roan, former "Bachelorette" leading lady Gabby Windey and music legend Lady Gaga. The pair are set to host the highly anticipated Las Culturistas Culture Awards 2025, which celebrates buzzy cultural moments, on Aug. 5 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo. The show was taped July 17 in Los Angeles.

‘Love Island USA' Stars Leah and Miguel Break Down Olivia Rodrigo & Taylor Swift Songs That Define Their Relationship
Love Island USA veterans Leah Kateb and Miguel Harichi have the perfect soundtrack to their love story. The couple who were the runners-up on season 6 of the popular Peacock dating show recently went back to the scene of their first date on the series, Los Angeles vegan restaurant PLANTA, for the latest episode of Billboard's 'Take Us Out' series (watch the full video above). In addition to reminiscing about the details of the place where Miguel asked Leah to be his girlfriend — and Miguel's newfound love for plant-based food due to Leah's vegetarianism — the couple revealed that they've bought a house and are about to move in together. They also broke down the songs that make their hearts sing. The track does seem to perfectly fit their vibe thanks to lyrics including: 'And he laughs at all my jokes/ And he says I'm so American/ Oh, God, it's just not fair of him/ To make me feel this much/ I'd go anywhere he goes/ And he says I'm so American/ Oh, God, I'm gonna marry him.' He took a runner on another song he figured Kateb would think sums them up, choosing Taylor Swift's 2019 Lover track 'London Boy,' which features the lyrics: 'You know I love a London boy/ I enjoy walking Camden Market in the afternoon/ He likes my American smile/ Like a child when our eyes meet, darling, I fancy you/ Took me back to Highgate, met all of his best mates/ So I guess all the rumors are true/ You know I love a London boy.' She said no, actually, 'but that's a good answer too.' Actually, Kateb had Swift's 'So High School' in mind, prompting them to sing a falsetto, a cappella run through the chorus, giggling as they crooned, 'I feel so high school/ Every time I look at you.' When it was Kateb's turn, she went with 'London Boy' as her theme song for him, or Usher's 'Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home).' The couple also discussed the artists they are dying to see live — including The Weeknd, Swift and PartyNextDoor — as well as what if felt like to make their red carpet debut at this year's American Music Awards. 'I was having a ball… I was also drunk,' Kateb said, admitting that, like many in the crowd, she was hoping that a rumored surprise appearance by Swift would happen that night. 'Everyone thought she was gonna come out and announce [the Taylor's version of] Reputation,' Kateb said of the rumor that turned out to be double not true when Swift neither showed up nor announced the release date for the latest in her series of album re-records.
