Mercedes-Benz recently launched the G 63 Collector's Edition in the Indian market. It is priced at ₹ 4.3 crore ex-showroom, and the brand has revealed that the deliveries of the SUV will begin by the end of this year. The bookings are already open, but it is important to note that not everyone can go and buy it out. Mercedes-Benz has reserved the G 63 Collector's Edition for the top Mercedes-Benz owners. Only 30 units of the Collector's Edition will be made by the luxury manufacturer.
What are the exterior changes to the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Collector's Edition?
Mercedes-Benz says that the Collector's Edition of the G 63 is inspired by the vivid palette and timeless tradition of India. There are two exclusive colors for the SUV. They are Mid Green Magno, drawing visual cues from the vibrant greenery seen during the monsoon season, while the second, Red Magno, reflects the rich, iron-tinged soil found in various regions of India. There is a plaque at the rear that mentions how special the G 63 AMG Collector's Edition is.
There is a protective strip that runs throughout the body, and it says Collector's Edition on it. Apart from the strip, there are 22-inch AMG-spec alloy wheels that are finished in a golden colour. There is a plaque placed on the spare wheel that sports a 'One of Thirty' badge.
The interior of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Collector's Edition is finished in Manufaktur Catalina Beige with Black Nappa Leather with diamond stitching. Customers can get a personalised grab handle on the dashboard that will be made up of open-pore walnut wood, and the customers can get a name engraved on it.

The luxury manufacturer has not implemented any mechanical modifications to the special edition. It still features the same 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine, which is equipped with 48V mild-hybrid assistance. This engine generates a maximum power output of 585 bhp and a peak torque of 850 Nm. The Integrated Starter Generator contributes an additional 20 bhp and 200 Nm. The transmission remains a 9-speed unit that distributes power to all four wheels.

CHENNAI: Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) major VinFast, which is all set to enter the Indian market soon, has hired a group of 200 polytechnic students for its upcoming electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi. The company announced the recruitment on Wednesday, stating it is their first batch of locally hired professionals. It further said that in a phased manner, it will eventually employ over 3,500 workers locally over the next five years. The newly hired employees are undergoing training to meet international automotive standards under the supervision of Vietnamese experts and Indian professionals. The recruitment was made with help from the district administration, Naan Mudhalvan and the state Industries department, according to an official release. 80% of its employees will be fresh graduates or trainees from local communities, while 20% will comprise experienced Indian and international professionals from established automotive manufacturers, the release stated. Polytechnic students were provided with skill development training as per industry needs to help them crack the selection tests at VinFast.'The skill training programme for polytechnic students is designed to match industry requirements and we continuously keep upgrading our courses, ' said a senior official of Naan Mudhalvan.

New Delhi: Auto components maker TATA AutoComp and Skoda Group on Wednesday announced the formation of a joint venture to manufacture railway propulsion systems and components in India envisaging 'multi-million euro investment' in the country. This partnership is aimed at supporting the growing Indian railway and mobility markets, TATA AutoComp said in a statement. Skoda Group is a leading European manufacturer of components and vehicles for public transport. On the other hand TATA AutoComp has a significant market position in providing systems and components for electric vehicles. 'This partnership will diversify TATA AutoComp's portfolio and strengthen its capability in railway and metro segment,' the company said. TATA AutoComp further said 'it aims to bring sustainable innovations in mobility solutions at an affordable cost, specifically catering to rolling stock in India.' The new company, jointly owned by the two partners, will focus on manufacturing converters, drives and auxiliary converters for medium high-speed and regional trains, metros and light rail vehicles, the statement said. 'Manufacturing operations will be based in India. The joint venture involves a multi-million-euro investment and is expected to bring economic and technological benefits to the region,' it added. Tata AutoComp Vice-Chairman Arvind Goel said: 'Our collaboration with Skoda Group is set to enhance our footprint in the Indian Railway and Metro sector by enabling the introduction of state-of-the-art electrical propulsion systems and components.'
