Shooting at Tennessee class reunion leaves 4 hospitalized
Police in Chattanooga responded to a report of multiple people shot at the Tyner Community Center, the Chattanooga Police Department said.
Four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were rushed to a local hospital.
Police said there was no active threat to the public, though they did not say whether a suspect was arrested.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the Chattanooga Police Department for more information.
One individual was seen being placed in the back of a police car, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press. No further details about the person were immediately available.
Witnesses told Local 3 News that there was a class reunion happening at the center, saying that there was "chaos" when the gunfire erupted.
"Everybody was just having a good time and all of sudden just shots just started, going everywhere, and little kids and babies and everything was on the ground. It was bad," witness Jeoff Herman told the station.
Another witness told WTVC-TV that he rushed to the aid of a girl on the ground after she was shot.
"They covered all the bullet wounds, kept her from bleeding out," Dominic Burkes said. "And I covered the sun off her face and made sure I held her hand and made sure she was OK."
The circumstances leading up to the shooting were unclear.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and more information would be released when available.

Sheriff Chad Bianco told 9News in Denver the investigation into the matter is over, and police found "nothing criminal." Sperbeck died in April in a golf-cart incident. Sperbeck reportedly fell out of the golf cart — which Elway was reportedly driving — and hit his head on the asphalt. He was taken to a local medical center, where he died. Sperbeck was 62. Advertisement Following an investigation into Sperbeck's death, Bianco called it a "tragic accident," per 9News. 'It's over,'' Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco said in an interview Friday with 9NEWS. 'We've talked to everyone involved and we found nothing new. There was nothing criminal, it was what we've been saying all along that this was a tragic accident.' Bianco added that he watched video of the incident multiple times, and could not explain why Sperbeck fell off the golf cart. The video reportedly showed no instances of horseplay or swerving, per 9News, which also reportedly no one involved was intoxicated. In the video, Sperbeck reportedly fell straight backward and hit his head on the asphalt. After being alerted of the incident, Elway reportedly stopped the golf cart and called 911. Bianco said he did not believe Elway was intoxicated after listening to the 911 call. 'I listened to the entire 9-1-1 call,'' Bianco said told 9NEWS in May. 'He was very articulate. He was very responsive. He was not slurring his words. He was not hesitating in his response with the dispatcher. It was a normal urgent conversation.' Following Sperbeck's death, Elway released a statement saying he was "devastated and heartbroken." Sperbeck served as Elway's agent during his 16-year NFL career. After Elway retired, the two went into business together, launching a winery in 2015.
