Air India, IndiGo have cancelled operations at multiple airports
Flight operations in northern and western India faced major disruptions on Tuesday, with Air India and IndiGo cancelling services to and from several airports due to 'latest developments' in the region.
Air India confirmed that it had suspended two-way flights at eight airports for the day: Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot.
In view of the latest developments and keeping your safety in mind, flights to and from Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot are cancelled for Tuesday, 13th May.

IndiGo also announced similar cancellations, halting operations to and from Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar, and Rajkot for the day.
Neither airline specified the exact cause of the disruption, although the suspended routes point to heightened security precautions or airspace restrictions in India's northern belt. The move comes amid rising tensions in some parts of the country, though no official security alerts have been issued as of yet.
Passengers travelling to or from the affected destinations have been advised to check with their respective airlines for updates and rebooking options.

Oman - The total number of passengers through Oman's airports (Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, and Duqm Airport), reached approximately 5.79 million passengers by the end of May 2025, compared to 5.96 during the same period in 2024, reflecting a 3 per cent decline, according to preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). However, the total number of flights recorded a slight decline of 0.3 per cent, totalling 3,717 compared to 3,730 flights by the end of May 2024. Sohar Airport recorded a sharp 98.8 per cent drop from 336 passengers by the end of May 2025 to 27,350 passenger traffic by the end of May 2024. Meanwhile, the number of flights also declined by 63.7 per cent, reaching 82 flights, compared to 226 flights by the end of May 2024. Duqm Airport also recorded a decline in flight operations by 1.5 per cent, with 256 flights compared to 260 in the same period in previous year, while the Passenger numbers at the same airport fell by 1.2 per cent, totalling 25,371 passengers by the end of May 2025, compared to 25,675 in May 2024. The statistics revealed that Indian nationals topped the list of most frequent travellers (arrivals and departures) through Muscat International Airport during May 2025, with a total of 193,861 passengers, including 85,447 arrivals and 108,414 departures. The Indian nationals' passengers were followed by Omani nationals' passengers with a total of 108,916 passengers, including 54,086 arrivals and 54,830 departures, and Pakistani nationals came third with 46,930 passengers, including 21,267 arrivals and 25,663 departures.

More Dubai-bound flights from India hit by delays, cancellations
Flight disruptions on the India–Dubai route continued on Wednesday, compounding the frustration of hundreds of travellers already grappling with recurring delays and operational snags. In the latest incident, an Air India Express flight from Lucknow to Dubai was cancelled on Wednesday morning after a technical fault was detected. Flight IX 193, scheduled to depart at 8.45am from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, was carrying 160 passengers and eight crew members. The pilot reportedly noticed the issue after starting the engine and promptly alerted airline officials and air traffic control. 'They tried to fix the issue, but it couldn't be resolved, forcing the airline to cancel the flight,' said R. Khan, a passenger travelling with his family. Flight tracking data confirms the cancellation. Khan added that some passengers were accommodated in hotels, while others were offered refunds or assured seats on alternative flights. On the same day (Wednesday) fresh delays hit Jaipur International Airport. SpiceJet's flight SG 57 to Dubai, scheduled to take off at 9.30am, was delayed by more than seven hours and eventually departed at 4.35pm. The delay was attributed to the late arrival of the inbound aircraft, SG 58, from Dubai, which itself had departed nearly six hours behind schedule. The disruptions come just days after Khaleej Times reported a string of delays on the Jaipur–Dubai route over the weekend, with passengers on some flights waiting for up to nine hours.

UAE-India flights: Airlines issue travel advisory as heavy rains lash parts of country
As heavy rains lash across parts of India, airlines have issued travel advisories to their passengers, warning them of delays in some states. With India's monsoons clashing with the UAE's summers, there is heavy travel during these few months as residents go back home for vacations. Air India, which is set to partially resume international flights after the deadly Ahmedabad crash last month, warned passengers in its advisory on Wednesday, July 16, of gusty winds and rains impacting flight operations in Delhi. It advised them to check the latest flight status on its website before heading out. Meanwhile, Indigo issued an advisory for people travelling to and from Delhi and Patna amid heavy showers. The airline in its statement on July 16 said that "while operations remain on schedule for now, weather-related delays may be expected later in the day". Passengers have been recommend to check their flight status on their website or app before heading to the airport. Additionally, they must keep extra time for their journey, as rain may affect traffic conditions en route. In Patna, the airline stated that departures and arrivals may be slightly affected and advised passengers to check their flight status on its website or app before heading out and keep some extra travel time. Budget airline SpiceJet issued advisories for Delhi, Varanasi, Bagdogra and Mumbai travellers in the past two days due to bad weather and alerted them of potential impact to arrivals and departures. Passengers have been advised to keep a check on their flight status via their website and those travelling to the airport are requested to keep a tab on live traffic and allow sufficient time for the journey due to traffic congestion on the roads leading to the airport.
