
Raj Nayak goes beyond content - launches ‘House of IP' in cultural property space
Aiming to be a first-of-its-kind studio, the firm will build original, scalable intellectual properties across entertainment, sports, music festivals, digital formats, and branded experiences.
From conceptualisation to commercialisation, the studio will incubate original IPs and will also collaborate with existing IP owners to offer strategic advisory, brand building, content development, and revenue monetisation.
'At a time when content is fragmented, attention spans are shrinking, and brands are seeking more immersive and ownable experiences, the need for strong, scalable IPs is more urgent than ever,' said Nayak. 'This venture is about building cultural properties that connect deeply with audiences while delivering real value to brands and platforms.'
Nayak, who steered Viacom18's COLORS, the company's flagship Hindi general entertainment channel, through a key growth phase and later launched House of Cheer, a content and brand solutions company, has championed innovation in content and brand experiences.
The new venture, in strategic partnership with YAAP Digital, is bringing together Nayak's storytelling and execution expertise with YAAP's digital-first capabilities and strength in brand integration.

House of IP is in the process of setting up offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Dubai.
In September 2019, Nayak had launched House of Cheer, which included various business extensions in the space of happiness and well-being. The consulting company runs Happyness.me, a service that measures the happiness quotient of corporates and its people.

Aap sabhi logo ka bohot bohot dhanyawad, jitne bhi yahan log aaye, aur media. (Looking at his watch) Kaafi late nahi ho gaya hai?' Many joked that it was way past Akshay's bed time, referring to the actor's disciplined lifestyle. When someone said 'Dilli mein chalta hai sir', Akshay replied, 'Dilli mein chalta hai? Tabhi haal dekh tera.' After this quick banter, Akshay went on to share, 'Actually, after a long time I'm doing this walk, ramp walk. Mujhe yaad hai, aaj se kareeban 12 saal pehle, maine phir ek baar ramp walk kiya tha, maine inhi ke saath kiya tha. And it's been an honour doing that.' Sharing his experience, Akshay went on to add, 'I have enjoyed each and every bit of it. Specially, maine dekha hai ki kitna hard-work jaata hai ek show karne ke liye, organise karne ke liye aur 25 minute ke andar poora ka poora khatam ho jaata hai. Bengali must on shop signboards & hoardings, says mayor
1 2 Kolkata: City mayor Firhad Hakim on Friday said signboards and hoardings of all commercial establishments, including shops and restaurants, must be written in Bengali, along with other languages. After a "Talk to the Mayor" session, Hakim was asked about some commercial establishments that were continuing with their hoardings in English, Hindi and even Assamese, but not in Bengali. Hakim instructed civic officials to look into the matter and ensure that everyone followed the norm. Last year, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) mandated the use of Bengali language on all commercial signboards, including hoardings, alongside other languages. A deadline of Feb 21, 2025, was set for implementation of the rule. Chairperson Mala Roy, who was presiding over the day's proceedings, asked Hakim to reply in Bengali. Monalisa raised civic issues like water pipeline leakage, water supply disruptions and shortage of labourers. Later, the mayor said: "Though the councillor raised her questions in English, I answered in Bengali, my mother tongue."Status: Not Approved

Renowned Hindi satirist Gopal Chaturvedi dead
Lucknow: Renowned Hindi satirist and literary figure Gopal Chaturvedi passed away on Friday at the age of 84, just six days after the death of his wife Nisha Chaturvedi. Born in Lucknow in 1942, Chaturvedi later settled in Dewas. He completed his intermediate studies at Scindia College and graduated from Hamidia College, Bhopal, before pursuing his Master's in English Literature from Allahabad University. A prolific writer, Chaturvedi was known for his sharp wit and incisive social commentary. His notable works include 'Afsar Ki Maut', 'Aadmi Aur Gidd', 'Jugaadpur Ke Jugaadu', 'Dum Ki Wapsi', 'Ganga Se Gatar Tak', and 'Dhoop Ki Talash'. His contributions to Hindi literature were recognised with several prestigious awards, including Vyangshree, Akhil Bhartiye Bhasha Sammelam award, Yash Bharti award, and the Sharad Joshi award from the govt of Madhya Pradesh. "He couldn't bear the loss of my mother," said his daughter Swati Chaturvedi, a well-known journalist and author. The literary community mourned his loss, with noted poet Sarvesh Asthana remembering him as "a humble and gentle soul".
