Man arrested for sexual assault, abuse after woman files complaint in Hyderabad
The accused, Archit Pasupuleti, has been booked under Sections 69 (sexual intercourse obtained through deceit), 79 (insult to a woman's modesty), 89 (causing miscarriage without consent), and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the complaint, Archit was introduced to the woman through a mutual friend and later contacted her via Instagram. They entered into a relationship during which he allegedly promised to marry her, but instead subjected her to repeated sexual assaults and physical violence.
The woman stated that he coerced her into sexual acts under the guise of love, often involving choking, slapping, biting, and other violent behaviour, which left her physically and psychologically traumatised. When she confronted him, he allegedly responded that this was his 'way of showing love.'

Tamil Nadu: Dalit man killed by girlfriend's brother allegedly over inter-caste relationship
A 21-year-old man has been arrested for killing a 27-year-old Dalit software engineer in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli district, in what the police alleged to be a caste crime, The Indian Express reported on Tuesday. S Surjith, the accused, allegedly hacked Kavin Selva Ganesh to death on Sunday. Ganesh, who belonged to a Scheduled Caste community, was in a relationship with Surjith's sister, S Subhasini. Surjith surrendered to the police shortly after attacking Ganesh, according to The Indian Express. His parents, Saravanan and Krishnakumari, are police sub-inspectors. They were named as co-accused in the first information report and charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act. The parents have been accused of inciting the crime and making threats to Ganesh in the past. Ganesh, a resident of Arumugamangalam village in Thoothukudi district, worked at Tata Consultancy Services in Chennai. On Sunday, he had gone to meet Subhashini at a private clinic in Tirunelveli town, where she works as a consultant. Subhashini belongs to a Most Backward Class community. Surjith allegedly met Ganesh outside the clinic and told him to come along as his parents wanted to speak with him. Ganesh got on his two-wheeler and left for Astalakshmi Nagar, The Indian Express reported. A few hours later, his body was found about 200 metres from the clinic, the Hindustan Times reported. Police said Ganesh and Subhashini had known each other since childhood. They had faced growing hostility from Subhashini's family. Ganesh's family told police that they had received repeated threats from her parents, the Hindustan Times reported. Ganesh's family has refused to accept his body and is demanding legal action against Surjith's parents, who they allege were instrumental in the murder. 'They objected to the relationship from the beginning and repeatedly harassed my son,' The Indian Express quoted Ganesh's mother, S Tamizhselvi, as saying. 'Even now, they may use their positions to influence the case.'

In a bizarre case of insider theft, a security manager has been booked for allegedly stealing 261 Indian Premier League (IPL) player jerseys worth ₹6.52 lakh from the BCCI's official merchandise store at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium, ANI reported citing Mumbai alleged heist took place on June 13 but came to light only after a formal complaint was filed on July 17. According to the complaint, Hemang Bharat Kumar Amin, a 44-year-old BCCI employee residing in Mahim and posted at the cricket board's Wankhede office, accused Farooq Aslam Khan (46)—a security manager and resident of Gaurav Excellency, Mira Road East—of illegally entering the merchandise store and walking off with high-value IPL kits. What makes this theft stand out is the range of gear taken: official jerseys from all 10 IPL franchises—Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Gujarat Titans (GT), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
