Love the retro flair of the Fiat 500e but feel it's a bit too small on the inside? The 600e is its bigger brother, combining similar levels of panache with a welcome dose of practicality. But, despite its larger size, you can get one for a remarkably small price even if you're a high mileage driver. Advertisement - Article continues below
If you scour the Auto Express Find a Car service, you'll find that Pink Car Leasing is offering the fashionable Fiat for £342.03 a month. Not the most eye-catching price, admittedly, but this deal isn't for the 5,000-mile limit we usually feature. You get a whopping 12,000 miles a year.
That gives fantastic flexibility for higher mileage drivers who don't want to be stung for travelling further during their lease agreements.
This is a 48-month deal which requires £4,104.31 to be put down as an initial payment – not the cheapest but remember this is a 12,000-miles-a-year deal.
The package gets you a 600e in 'Red' trim – that's the name of it, although it does also come painted in a vibrant shade of red as standard.
Also included is climate control, rear parking sensors, LED headlights, a digital instrument display and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Fiat also throws in a heat pump to improve efficiency during the winter.
The 600e shares a lot of its components with the likes of the Peugeot E-2008 and Vauxhall Mokka Electric, so under the cutesy styling lies a 54kWh battery pack which gives a claimed 254 miles of range.
A 154bhp electric motor gives keen performance, while supple suspension gives a cosseting and refined driving experience.

The Electric Car Grant has shot the UK car industry in the foot
Talk about a great way to ruin good news. With electric car take-up growing far more slowly than required to hit the Government's ZEV mandate targets, the car industry has been crying out for incentives to help boost interest in what is still very much new tech to most drivers. Advertisement - Article continues below So it's impressive to do what a whole sector has been calling for but still shoot yourself in the foot with a scheme so complicated that no-one understands how it's going to work, or which cars will be eligible, days after it's announced. It's a shambles, or as one senior UK car industry exec put it to me last week, a 'flipping nightmare'. I also hear that the E-mail address that manufacturers need to use to register their cars wasn't even working when the announcement of the scheme went live. Then there's the issue of cars just over the £37,000 threshold, which is oddly close to, yet not the same as the Government's VED expensive-car cut-off of £40k. Brands will be frantically recalculating to see how many of the 15 or so cars within £3,000 of the £37k line could be reduced in price to become eligible. That's if they jump through the required eco hoops to make the cut for £3,750 or £1,500 grants. Renault's Scenic dropped by £200 within 48 hours of the announcement to be a fiver under the threshold. Provided Renault ticks those secret eco boxes. We've ended up with a scheme seemingly designed with what some might see as the noble aim of helping European brands to compete with Chinese rivals under the guise of environmental credentials. It seems – although any level of actual detail or evidence of a full plan from the Department for Transport would be helpful – that the environmental aspect of the grant is designed to increase transparency and encourage more local production. But because the policy apparently wasn't fully formed when it was announced, we don't really know. That causes a ripple through the market. EV purchases dived through the floor in the days following the announcement as buyers wait, potentially for weeks, to see if their prospective new EV gets a whopping discount. So the Government's move to boost EV sales could have harpooned them in the short term. Which is careless. Buy a car with Auto Express. The Renault Symbioz is the newest of the lot and offers pretty much everything a family buyer could want. One of those requirements is value for money. This mid-size SUV is one of the cheapest of the lot right now, even undercutting such family favourites as the Nissan Qashqai. New Racing Bulls F1 team boss ‘shocked' after ‘amazing' promotion
Alan Permane admitted he was 'shocked' after being announced as Racing Bulls' new team principal following Christian Horner 's exit at Red Bull. The domino effect of Horner being relieved of his duties saw Laurent Mekies – formerly RB team principal – promoted to Red Bull F1 CEO. Permane, who was previously racing director at RB, is now the team boss. The 58-year-old was previously with Alpine, in all its previous guises including championship-winning seasons with Benetton and Renault, for 34 years before being let go in July 2023. The engineer joined Racing Bulls at the start of last season. 'It's amazing that they feel I'm capable and have the potential to lead this team. 'I deeply thank the Red Bull Austria senior management, Oliver Mintzlaff and Helmut Marko, and of course Laurent for recommending me, pushing me forward, his belief in me as well. It's been a great week.' Racing Bulls are currently seventh in the constructors' championship and have two young talents in Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar in the cockpit. Yuki Tsunoda was previously with the team for four years before being promoted in March to replace Lawson, dropped by Red Bull after just two races. 'It's a great team and I know that the senior Red Bull guys are extremely happy with the way the team is being run,' Permane added. 'They're very happy with our competitiveness. 'The target is to be top of the midfield, and we are certainly in a battle for that and we'll continue that fight throughout this year.' The next race of the 2025 season is the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend (25-27 July).
