Despite all the turmoil, retired Danish footballer Pedersen, 47, signed a new contract to stay at the club on Monday.
That renewal of his deal comes as Rohl is negotiating his exit from the club, amid a transfer embargo and financial issues.
Rohl remains absent from the Owls' pre-season and is expected to depart the club this summer.
SunSport exclusively revealed that hated owner Dejphon Chansiri demanded for Rohl to return to work as soon as possible.

But the German boss, who has been linked with the Leicester City job, is said to be nearing a severance deal.
But it seems assistant and former Bolton star Pedersen is happy to step up and take on more of a leadership role without him.
Wednesday, who finished 12th last season, are in dire straits financially, and currently restricted by a triple transfer embargo due to unpaid player wages and HMRC bills.
The club's financial crisis deepened after six stars reportedly handed in notices.

SunSport exclusively revealed how upset stars have asked the EFL to send them money.
Wednesday are now banned from buying players until 2027.
The Telegraph claimed that six unnamed players have handed in their notices over unpaid wages from May and June.
All squad members are able to hand in a 15-day notice period to terminate their contracts.
Fans are desperate for the Thai businessman to sell the club and move on.
One thing fans remember of Pedersen's time at Bolton is a 'peacock' goal celebration which became his trademark during his playing days.

Fluminense 0 Chelsea 2: Sensational Pedro fires Blues into Club World Cup final
JOAO PEDRO made it look easy - but the hard part now begins for Chelsea as they prepare for the Club World Cup final. A blistering double from new striker Pedro in obscene temperatures was enough to put the fourth best Premier League side in sight of the trophy and a £97 million windfall. 2 Joao Pedro scored two stunning goals on his first Chelsea start Credit: Getty 2 He refused to celebrate against his former side Credit: Getty However, things are going to get really sticky now in sweltering New Jersey because to get their hands on the jackpot they must overcome either European champions Paris or Real Madrid. While Chelsea have done well to get so far in this glorified summer kickabout, the draw has been kind to them. They have swerved the biggest teams in Europe, PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Inter Milan. Instead it's been Club Tunis, Benfica, Palmeiras and then a Fluminense side with a 40-year-old centre half and a keeper who is 44. READ MORE ON CHELSEA OH JOAO Joao Pedro apologises for first two Chelsea goals but instantly wins over fans No wonder the old boy couldn't quite stretch his creaking bones to meet the wickedly curling shot and the cannonball pile driver from Stamford Bridge's new hero which settled the score. Not that we should take anything away from Pedro who lived up to his billing on his first start for Chelsea in an hour long display that suggests he is hitting the ground running. But facing the newly crowned winners of the Champions League or the royalty of world football from Spain will be a bit different to seeing off a team from Brazil who only just avoided relegation last season. There have been wobbles all the way despite Chelsea being favourites in their games throughout. WATCH EVERY MATCH OF THE CLUB WORLD CUP 2025 LIVE ON DAZN And this was no exception. A lucky escape on a penalty shout and a shot cleared off the line before Pedro's second goal sealed victory. But Chelsea are there and now stand to pick up a handy £81.9 million for getting to the final even if that ends in ultimate defeat. Chelsea's £54M Wonderkid Estevão SNUBS Club World Cup to Say Goodbye to Palmeiras | From The Sports Desk | Sun Sport Not a bad little earner even if the players are knackered and will get only a couple of weeks off before they must start preparing for the looming Premier League season again. The money Chelsea have spent bringing in £60m Pedro, £30m Liam Delap and £48.5m Jamie Gittens is already close to being repaid. Boss Enzo Maresca has taken this competition seriously like he does most things in life. For players like Cole Palmer, born and raised in wet and soggy Manchester, the summer heat must be a serious chore, bordering on unhealthy. He was one of only three English players in the starting XI for a game kicking off in mid-afternoon where it was touching 38 degrees in the sun. It'll be much the same this time next year when the real World Cup Final is staged here. Even so, the Premier League side took control of the game early on, obviously looking to get the game wrapped up before grown men started melting. An attack down the left orchestrated by Pedro Neto had Fluminense on the back foot. The Portuguese winger has hit the heights consistently this tournament - more so than any other Chelsea player with goals and assists. His ball into the box was poor though and easily met by defender Thiago Santos. But instead of clearing the danger the pass out of the area was low and straight to Chelsea's dangerous new attacker. The way Pedro picked his spot with a devilishly curling right foot shot underlined how at home he feels just a week after signing. The muted celebration symbolised what Fluminense means to Pedro, who started his career there. But yet again with the game in the palms of their hands, Chelsea went all soft. Just three minutes after taking the lead, defender Marc Cucurella was called upon to hook a shot from Hercules off the line. And with nine minutes of the first half remaining their luck held again with a penalty call. French ref Francois Letexier pointed to the spot when Trevoh Chalobah handled a glancing header from Santos - the centre back involved in the first goal. VAR has been very much in the background for Chelsea this tournament and the first intervention by the spy in the sky saved their skins. The ref reviewed his decision on the pitchside monitor and U-turned after replays showed Chalobah keeping his left hand in a natural position close to his side as the ball cannoned off him. And from a scruffy breakout from defence Pedro sealed it for Chelsea when he was put clear through on the left by Enzo Fernandez. The Brazilian cut inside and buried a stunning rising shot in off the underside of the bar on 56 minutes before being taken off on the hour mark.

Ange Postecoglou contacted by Premier League club for job talks after Spurs exit
Tottenham wasted little time in swooping for Thomas Frank after sacking Ange Postecoglou but it has now emerged that the Australian was considered for the Brentford job Brentford are said to have approached Ange Postecoglou to explore the idea of the Australian replacing Thomas Frank in what would have effectively been a job swap shortly after his Tottenham exit. Frank almost instantly emerged as the red-hot favourite to succeed Postecoglou at the helm after the 59-year-old was sacked by Spurs and the Dane was later confirmed as the club's new head coach just days later after agreeing a three-year deal. The swift turnaround left Brentford searching for a new manager to replace Frank, who established the Bees as a Premier League club during his seven-year tenure. Brentford confirmed Keith Andrews, the club's former set-piece coach, as their new boss late last month after weeks of speculation. But The Athletic have now revealed that Postecoglou was approached over the Brentford vacancy in the immediate aftermath of his exit from Tottenham. READ MORE: Tottenham sign international defender as Thomas Frank lands second summer transfer It's said that Postecoglou, who has already been linked with a number of roles since leaving his previous post, was among those considered by Brentford after Frank's exit had been confirmed and contact with the former Celtic and Australia chief was made. Phil Giles, Brentford's director of football, did discuss the Bees job with Postecoglou, though he was not formally interviewed for the position. The report adds that both parties were in agreement that Postecoglou should not be considered for the vacancy with Brentford going on to appoint Andrews on a three-year contract. Andrews, a former Republic of Ireland international, joined the Bees as a set-piece coach last summer and has not been a No 1 before at senior level. Giles, though, pointed out that all managerial appointments always carry an element of risk in a press conference last week, saying: 'There's always going to be some degree of risk. 'It's more risky to go and get a coach we don't know from a club where the environment might be different or maybe people around them made them successful. This is actually quite a low-risk appointment because I know how good Keith is.'

Djeidi Gassama to Rangers latest with ex-PSG star's wage demands revealed as move for another target proves problematic
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RANGERS were last night closing on a deal to land French winger Djeidi Gassama from crisis-torn Sheffield Wednesday. Russell Martin wants the 21-year-old star to add to his attacking options ahead of the Champions League opener against Panathinaikos. But it's understood that deal is proving problematic with the Eagles initially keen on a sale and the clubs so far unable to structure a permanent deal - or thrash out a loan agreement. Gers still want Rak-Sakyi but have now turned to France Under-20 cap Gassama, who was born in Mauritania and started his career with European champions Paris St Germain. Wednesday failed to pay their senior players on time for the third occasion in the last four months - sparking fresh fears of a walk-out. It's been claimed several Owls stars have signalled their intent to terminate their contracts and leave as free agents due to the pay dispute. But it's believed Gassama is NOT among them and wants to leave Hillsborough on good terms after winning the club's Player of the Year award last season. There is other interest from south of the border in the £2.5million-rated star but it's understood he is aware of Gers' interest and would be willing to make the switch north. His wage demands are within the Ibrox budget and a deal looks likely to be completed well ahead of the Panathinaikos opener on July 22. New boss Martin is in the middle of a complete Ibrox rebuild - with Wolves defender Nasser Djiga set to become his sixth signing. The 22-year-old stopper hopes to arrive in time to meet up with Gers at their St George's Park training camp this week. Rangers boss Russell Martin opens up on transfer plans as he delivers updates on Dessers and Igamane Djiga cost Wolves £10m from Red Star Belgrade last season and they want him to gain more experience at Ibrox. Martin has already added Max Aarons, Joe Rothwell, Thelo Aasgaard, Emmanuel Fernandez and Lyall Cameron to his squad. But he wants more quality added in the coming days, with Leicester City defender Conor Coady in talks. Speaking on Sunday, Martin said: 'I expect the squad to look different in a week's time. 'But in a couple of weeks so much can happen in football, so I don't know. 'We definitely want to do more. Also probably some players need to move on as well. 'I don't know the answer but it will definitely look different in a week's time.' Martin is also expected to clear out several fringe players, with Kieran Dowell and Ben Davies among those likely to depart. The duo were on loan at Birmingham City last term and are unlikely to be part of the new era. Ridvan Yilmaz is another player who could leave - with the Turkish left-back losing his No3 squad number to new boy Aarons. Leon King has been linked with a move to Wycombe Wanderers, while Ross McCausland has options in the MLS. Forgotten man Jose Cifuentes also faces a battle to prove he has an Ibrox future after returning from loan. Meanwhile, Rangers have reported a post-tax profit of £545,000 for the first full term of business of New Edmiston House.
