A man has been jailed after he launched a brutal attack on his pregnant girlfriend.
Wesley Jones grabbed the woman's throat during the ordeal which was witnessed by her two children.
The victim, who was two months pregnant at the time of the attack, was left feeling dazed after Jones, 32, grabbed her neck.
He also threw her to the floor and damaged her £1,000 television and coffee table in the ordeal.

Jone has been jailed for 26 months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court and handed a five-year restraining order after he was found guilty of strangulation, assault by beating and criminal damage.
The court heard the victim called the police at 9.30am on June 28, 2023, when Jones refused to leave her home.
The police removed him but he returned to the address at 5.50pm. She had his bags ready for him to collect, but Jones started to cry and she allowed him inside, StokeonTrentLive reports.
Prosecutor Emma Swindell said: "He grabbed her throat with his right hand and strangled her. It restricted her breathing and made her feel dazed.
"He went to her bedroom and tipped the wardrobe over and kicked things around her room. Downstairs, he grabbed hold of her and threw her to the floor.
"She hit her head. He broke the coffee table worth £67 and threw a television worth £1,000 at the wall and punched it destroying it."
In a victim statement the woman said the relationship has ended. She was left crying continuously and very upset.
The incident was witnessed by the woman's two children.
Jones, of Longshaw Street, Longport, denied strangulation, assault by beating and criminal damage but was convicted after a trial at North Staffordshire Justice Centre.
Robert Holt, mitigating, conceded Jones has a history of violence. He once worked as a chef at Stoke City Football Club.
Last December he fell from a ladder which left him with a spinal injury. He has suffered from mental health issues but has a dog which is helping him get out of the house and meet people, Mr Holt said.
He added: "He does not accept he is guilty of the offences. He denies he committed these offences. But he respects the opinion of the court."
Mrs Justice Tipples said: "You have a number of previous convictions for violence. The mitigation is your mental health, there has been no recent offending, this relates to 2023."

Police release new picture of suspect in Montana bar shooting as search moves to mountains

Authorities continue to search a mountainous area of western Montana for an ex-military man accused of fatally shooting four people at a local bar. Michael Paul Brown, 45, remained at large as of Saturday afternoon following the shocking incident in the small town of Anaconda Friday morning. He is believed to be armed and 'extremely dangerous,' police said previously. Brown fled in a white pickup truck after allegedly opening fire in The Owl Bar, but ditched the vehicle at some point after, according to Lee Johnson, administrator of the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation. The suspect was last seen near Stump Town, west of Anaconda. More than a dozen officers are in the area and appear to be searching for him in the woods. A spokesperson for the Granite County Sheriff's Office told The Independent that searches were continuing throughout Saturday and that a press briefing would be scheduled as necessary. Authorities also released a photo of Brown, barefoot and shirtless, walking down what appeared to be a flight of outdoor concrete steps. The photo showed Brown, wearing black shorts, fleeing after the shooting Friday, according to the Division of Criminal Investigation. He had previously been wearing a 'tie dyed shirt, blue jeans and an orange bandana,' the sheriff's office said. "While law enforcement has not received reports of Brown harming any other individuals, he is believed to be armed, and he is extremely dangerous," Johnson told the AP. Authorities said they would release the names of the victims once all of their families have been notified. However the bar's owner confirmed that a bartender and three patrons had been killed in the incident. David Gwerder, who wasn't there during the shooting, said that Brown had lived next door to the bar, and was known there – though he added he was not aware of any conflicts between the alleged shooter and his victims. "He knew everybody that was in that bar. I guarantee you that," Gwerder said. "He didn't have any running dispute with any of them. I just think he snapped." Police have yet to establish a motive, though Brown's niece, Clare Boyle, told the AP on Friday that her uncle had struggled with mental illness for years and that she and her other family members repeatedly sought help. "This isn't just a drunk/high man going wild," she wrote in a Facebook message. "It's a sick man who doesn't know who he is sometimes and frequently doesn't know where or when he is either." Brown served in the U.S. Army as an armor crewman from 2001 to 2005 and deployed to Iraq from early 2004 until March 2005, according to Lieutenant Colonel Ruth Castro, an Army spokesperson. Brown was in the Montana National Guard from 2006 to March 2009, Castro said. He left military service with the rank of sergeant. The town of Anaconda, about 25 miles northwest of Butte, has a population of only around 9,000 people. "This is a small tight-knit community that has been harmed by the heinous actions of one individual who does not represent what this community or Montanans stand for," Johnson added.

Warren man charged with possessing child sexually abusive material

A 61-year-old Warren, Michigan, man is accused of possessing and sharing multiple images of child sexually abusive material, the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office said Friday. Michael Cristini is charged with three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material and six counts of using a computer to commit a crime, court records show. He was arraigned on Friday at the 37th District Court in Warren. The prosecutor's office alleges that Cristini possessed and shared the child sexually abusive material around May 6. His bond is set at $500,000 cash or surety, according to court records. If released, Cristini won't be able to use the internet or a computer, can't have weapons, drugs or alcohol and will be required to wear a GPS tether. "The charges brought today represent some of the most serious offenses under the law involving the exploitation of children," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said in a news release on Friday. A probable cause conference for Cristini is scheduled for Aug. 15, followed by a preliminary exam on Aug. 21. If you know of a child who may have been a victim of exploitation, call the National Center for Missing or Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 or visit the website.

Manhunt intensifies for suspect in Montana bar mass shooting

A manhunt is intensifying for the gunman who allegedly killed a bartender and three patrons at a bar in southwestern Montana, authorities said. Michael Paul Brown allegedly opened fire around 10:30 a.m. local time Friday at The Owl Bar in Anaconda, a city of about 9,000 people in southwestern Montana, according to the Montana Department of Justice. MORE: Man at large after allegedly killing 4 family members, leaving baby alive in Tennessee: Officials Brown lived next door to the bar and was not a stranger to the area and establishment, authorities said. He fled the scene and is believed to be armed and dangerous, Lee Johnson with the Montana Department of Justice said. Brown was in the Army from 2001 to 2005 and the National Guard from 2006 to 2008, an Army spokesperson said. He spent one year deployed in Iraq and left the service in the rank of sergeant, the Army said. Police said they found the 2007 white Ford F-150 pickup that Brown was last seen driving on Friday, but Brown remains at large. Numerous local, state and federal agencies are searching the area via ground and air, authorities said. "Residents of the area have been notified and are encouraged to stay inside their homes and on high alert," Johnson said. Authorities haven't said what led up to the shooting at the bar or a possible motive. The shooting sparked a large law enforcement presence, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which sent agents to the scene. Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte said on social media on Friday that he was "closely monitoring the situation involving an active shooter in Anaconda" and asked for prayers for the victims.
