Hurzeler poised for big decision - and it looks like Webster gets the nod

Yahoo17-05-2025

Fabian Hurzeler faces a defensive decision as he prepares his Albion side to face the new Premier League champions.
But there are indications Adam Webster could keep his place at home to Liverpool.
Webster returned to the side in place of skipper Lewis Dunk at Wolves and was involved in a clean sheet for the sixth time in 2025.
Dunk was said to have a minor hamstring issue but, along with Joel Veltman, is available again for Monday's game (8pm).
Albion boss Hurzeler said: 'Of course it won't be an easy decision but Lewis wasn't able to train some days so he's not on his highest physical level.
'Therefore, Adam deserved to play and Adam will deserve to play the next game.
'Then I always say it's competition and they are both leaders, they are both important players on the pitch and beside the pitch for me.
'And, like I always emphasise, it's important from our skipper.
BRIGHTON TEAM NEWS FOR LIVERPOOL MATCH
'No matter if Lewis will start or not start, he will be in the squad and he has an impact on our team by his authority, by his experience, by his voice. So, I'm happy that he's in the squad and let's see if he can get some game time.'
Kaoru Mitroma is a doubt for the Liverpool game and the fixtures comes too soon for Georginio Rutter.
But Joao Pedro has now completed a three-match ban.

Tennis Reporter Gets Ripped For 'Unprofessional' Emma Raducanu Question

Tennis Reporter Gets Ripped For 'Unprofessional' Emma Raducanu Question originally appeared on The Spun. Emma Raducanu has taken a very calm approach to her career on and off the court, but that hasn't stopped the tennis community from speculating about her personal life. Advertisement It was announced this month that Raducanu will team up with Carlos Alcaraz for mixed doubles at the US Open later this summer. They actually practiced together at Wimbledon earlier this week. Raducanu confirmed that her practice session with Alcaraz was in partnership with Evian. They're both ambassadors for the company. That hasn't stopped people from speculating about their friendship. During a media session this Saturday afternoon, Raducanu was asked about her dynamic with Alcaraz. There have been some rumors about them dating, but that hasn't been confirmed. "There's been lots of chatter online about your friendship with Carlos," a reporter asked. "Is there any truth behind the rumors?" Advertisement Raducanu replied, "We're just good friends." That ended up being the last question she faced for the day. "Extremely unprofessional to ask," one fan said. "Tennis reporter should not ask such questions," a social media user wrote. "Honestly .. what passes for journalists these days," another fan asked. "This is so cringe, like for this to move into mainstream media is ugh. Leave it alone because you're making everyone uncomfortable," one person commented. Advertisement The reporter who asked Raducanu this question has not yet revealed themselves. As for Raducanu, she's hoping to silence all the outside noise and make a run at Wimbledon. She made it to the fourth round of the tournament last year before losing to Lulu Sun. On Monday afternoon, Raducanu will kick off her quest for a Wimbledon title against Mingge Xu. Tennis Fans Want Reporter Fired For 'Tacky' Carlos Alcaraz Question

Tennis Fans Want Reporter Fired For 'Tacky' Carlos Alcaraz Question originally appeared on The Spun. With the 2025 Wimbledon Championships on the horizon, Carlos Alcaraz is trending because of his life off the court. Advertisement Earlier this month, Alcaraz asked Emma Raducanu to be his partner for mixed doubles at the US Open. She was more than willing to accept his offer. Once their partnership for the final Grand Slam tournament of the year was confirmed, fans started speculating about their connection. That speculation only grew louder when Alcaraz and Raducanu were spotted practicing together at Wimbledon. Raducanu later revealed they were working on something with Evian since they're both ambassadors for the brand. Despite their best efforts to keep the focus on tennis, Alcaraz and Raducanu haven't been able to dodge questions from the public. On Saturday afternoon, Raducanu was asked about her dynamic with Alcaraz. An unidentified reporter was wondering if there's a potential romance brewing behind the scenes. In fact, some fans want this reporter to face consequences for this question. "Tennis reporters should not ask such questions," one fan said. "This is getting ridiculous," a second fan wrote. "It is none of our business, leave them alone," a third fan commented. "Tennis reporters are so unprofessional. Some reporters, especially those from the UK. It is yet another example of the circuits, particularly the @wta failing to monitor the press conferences and protect their players," an Instagram user wrote. Advertisement "Leave them alone and let it happen organically if you do like them as a couple. Tacky otherwise, but it's the media so what else is new," another social media user said. As of now, the reporter hasn't apologized for their question about Alcaraz and Raducanu. Hopefully, this bizarre situation doesn't become the top story at Wimbledon this upcoming week. Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool star's next move

What is Robertson's next move? Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the left-back's situation. He said: "We don't expect Andy Robertson to go to Atletico Madrid anymore. Advertisement "Andy Robertson was a candidate, a strong candidate, for Atletico Madrid. They had concrete conversations, then the player was taking his time to decide his future, also out of respect with Liverpool, where he's still loving the club, the fanbase and all the people at the club. "... [We are] waiting to see what he will decide for his future." As such, the defender merely took too long for Atletico's liking, and so the Spanish club moved on. Whether the idea of moving to Atletico is something that Robertson was on board with, we don't know, but he was assessing his options, and it was not a straightforward decision. Advertisement Earlier in June, the full-back said his contract talks with the club were 'good' ahead of potentially entering the final year of his deal and he added that he was looking forward to preseason once he had spent a few weeks on holiday with his family after a long and tiring title winning season. However, since then, Milos Kerkez has been signed and the Hungarian admitted his admiration for Robertson, hailing him as 'the best left-back that played in the Premier League', in his interview via the club website, adding that it was important to be playing alongside a player with such experience. As such, many will be hoping that Robertson sees out his deal, becomes a mentor for Kerkez for the season, and filling in the gaps when required to, before getting a historic send-off from the Anfield faithful in May 2026 when he can then find somewhere to finish off his career before he retires. But a lot of conversations with Liverpool and other clubs will be had before we can feel confident in those events happening and while he won't go to Atletico Madrid, he could move elsewhere.
